    Thanks guys. Most YT tutorials focus mainly on the A cam shots, wheras you've shown us great positions and lenses to use on the other shots. I've just rebooted my wedding videography after a false start 4 years ago and can already see where I could have done a better job with my 4 cameras on my last wedding in January.

    That's great information. Some real life tips. I think that's the content I really need. Not just camera gear, exact lenses, luts and other stuff that everybody tries to sell. Great job. Waiting for other great stuff on filming that wedding day . Oh, and some of the podcast are not bad, sometimes even funny.

    I was wondering if you can do a class on step-by-step on filming a wedding, proper camera setup, lighting, etc. for a solo videography for indoor and outdoor settings.

    How do you plan to catch the reactions of the loved ones also? Could you make a video regarding this? Great content!

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Always easier if you have a second shooter, but if you're solo and have the coverage basics down and especially with a safety shot you can always float a creative camera around for some reactions sometime in the earlier part of the ceremony

    Mate, great 3 series videos how to film ceremony, thank you so much. May I ask if you use manual or auto focus on your cutaway and groom's cameras which are set on tripods? And what exactly you are focusing at? Do you also use higher apertures ie f4-f8 to ensure you have longer depth of field and so if groom moves a bit for example he stays in focus? Thank you

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We typically would advise to only use AF on a manned camera. You never know what can pop up and cause our AF to start hunting and that’s no bueno. We try to just set the aperture so the depth of focus is deep enough to accommodate so movement in the frame by the subject.

    • @MI-ni1ck
      @MI-ni1ck 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WeddingFilmSchool sorry, did you mean to say you would advise to only use MF? Could you please provide examples of usual aperture values you use on your cutaway and groom's cameras? Thank you

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MI-ni1ck yes. I would advise to only use MF on unmanned tripod camera. Aperture values kinda depend on the angle you are shooting at but you want it to be deep enough that the subject could move. I don’t like handing out values because it’s not really the right way to teach people but I would start at 4.0 as a rule of thumb. That being said, you may be able to shoot even shallower if your careful. I usually have an assistant stand in for the groom before the wedding starts to set focus and then adjust after the groom gets settled. - Jay

    Ah Dude, been watching this mini series, love it! Im usually a 2nd shooter, and only when my buddies are desperate!
    but I have been roped into doing a solo!
    It started with just some drone shots for a friend to - "Dad said you could film the whole day" cheers Dad! lol
    So it was due March 2020, covid said nope... so trhey moved it to July 2020, then August 2020 and now... its happenign August 2021!!
    So i started tuning into the live reviews on the run up to March 2020 and here I am over a year later! haha
    All the gear... no idea! well more of an idea thanks to you guys!
    I have no aspirations to go pro with this, its not my cup o tea, but I will give my best on the day, and maybe Ill have the guts to send in my first and hopefully last wedding video for a review ;)
    Keep doing what you do guys! ;)

    I run 4 cameras by myself during the ceremony all the time. I really don't understand why so many people have an issue with it. It's not that hard to sit cameras on a tripod and hit record. Takes a little planning like any other part of the day.

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'd love to see a basics/introduction guide for just one person alone with one camera/one lens, like a smaller starting out budget. I know it would be run and gun energy but that's where some of us are starting out

      I mean....it's whatever it needs to be haha. This wedding specifically? No idea this was like 2-3 years ago. But you've gotta deal with the whole exposure triangle and see what you want to prioritize
