    By chance, could you create a shot list of everything from groom and bride prep, first look, ceremony, reception, etc. Different angles lists, interview questions of bride and groom, and questions that you ask at the very beginning when you are getting to know the couple and what they want from you. Thanks.

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't work off of shot lists, that doesn't work great for wedding films, though there are definitely things you capture at all (or most) weddings. Same with angles, it varies. But watch all of our behind the scenes videos, this should give you a good idea on some of that!
      As far as questions during the booking process I don't know if we have anything specifically on that but we might in some older videos! Or over on our podcast channel, The Wedding Film School Show!

    Great video. One comment about the 180 degree rule:
    The most important 180 degree rule to keep consistent are eye lines. You can open up the video with a good establishing shot and then break the 180 degree rule in most other shots not concerning eye lines.

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean that is basically what the 180 degree rule is referring to. It's where someone is in relation to someone or something else so eye lines are a good way to judge it too! And for a highlight you can get around that easily by throwing in some other shot in between to make it less jarring but in a full ceremony edit you don't want to be breaking the 180 line from one shot to the next! - Bobby

    I was wondering if you can do a class on step-by-step on filming a wedding, proper camera setup, lighting, etc. for a solo videography for indoor and outdoor settings.

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say this channel in general, or at least some of the videos, answer the questions you have, just spread across multiple videos and not presented as a course that you have to pay for. In particular I would watch the series you commented on here, our reception lighting video, and I know we specifically have a behind the scenes at a real wedding as a solo shooter!

    Nice video! Did part of it get cut off though? feels like there was supposed to be something more on camera placement or focal lengths.

    I’m just starting out and have my first shoot on the beach, what kind of camera do you use to video AND shoot photos?

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is our opinion, and the opinion of most, that you should not be offer photo and video by yourself. You will sacrifice both final products in the process.

    Who are you and how do we book you?

  • @KiblerDesign
    @KiblerDesign 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So, either you didn't explain the 180 degree rule/plane very well or there's a good reason no one is taking about it? Are you trying to tell people to not shoot from behind the bride and groom? Or is that for future videos?

    • @kilroyfilms7590
      @kilroyfilms7590 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think we will see in next parts, but for me it means there is no problem shooting from behind, but if you are cutting between lets say a bride cam and a groom cam you want them both on the same side of the line, if not they will be looking in different directions. So either have both cams behind or both in front, not one of each. Also helps to not get the other cam in each others shot.

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Basically, it’s about editing. You want the bride and groom to appear to be looking at each other in post. Not to be looking at the same side of the room. In general, your right. Don’t shoot from behind the bride and groom. Basically it is just a filmmaking fundamental and we wanted to get the concept in there without going into to much detail. - Jay

    • @WeddingFilmSchool
      @WeddingFilmSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s particularly in important during the bride walking down the aisle. During that time of day it’s easy to break the 180° rule. Once that ceremony gets going it’s pretty straight forward.

      Dude, your latest video was shot on a 1080i camera, poorly graded if at all, and the opening shots have crying babies. Why would you even comment something like that. lol
