Great job guys! I did a 6 pot brembo upgrade for my turbo territory one of my best mods i've done to it.Also dont forget to add your brake upgrade to your insurance policy incase of your car being stolen. This wont increase the premium of the policy due to the new brakes classed as a safety upgrade
This to date is my favorite video you's have made. Love it!
thanks baz ;)
I have a custom kit I made with 12.4 inch rotors, and 4 Piston Wilwoods calipers. It all fits under my 16” wheels too! I’ll be installing it finally on my TH-cam channel soon. It’s on my 94 Mirage Coupe, which is your cars cousin here in the US. The rotors are off the shelf Mini Cooper Rotors, no redrilling to 4 lug necessary.
Nice work, keen to see how it looks.
I have 296mm discs, there was some 304mm available, but played it safe for clearance. I think the calliper is far more important anyway.
@@fullboost it’s absolutely dope! Check out my channel soon for the install. It installs with no spacer, but it’s extremely close, I use a 10mm spacer just to be safe. The Mini Cooper rotors are cheap, and 314mm. Here is the setup mocked up. th-cam.com/users/shortsCKw8rtI6xZg?feature=share
Fantastic clip and nice to see the installation process.
Big brake upgrade, easily one of the best performance upgrades for old school Evo's.
+1 For MRP, I've used alot of their stuff in the past,Currently run their thermostatic sandwich plate, oil cooler and hyd clutch release kit in my vvti 1J 180sx
the MRP guys are great, so much great stuff for Toyota and 4age engines.
ap racing 4pot caliper designed for gravel rally (for 300mm disc diamter) will even fit 15" wheel... keep it 15" with OZ racing wheel will be nice...
coupled with big fat semi slick tyre...
and another side note... often aftermarket wheel have bigger center bore hole...in order to allow fitment for wider car range... it is common to use hub-centric ring for those kind of wheel...big bore it doesnt really matter when u have the hub-centric ring...
another note.... on multi-pot fixed caliper..procedure to replace pads is just by simply taking out a spring retainer, sliding out pad retaining pins and plate....then old pads out..in the new one...is much simple with just a plier as a tool...(as for brembo/sumitomo caliper...not in this willwood design from the looks of it)
Instead of hitting the disc with a hammer you can screw a bolt thru that threaded hole to bring the disc out.
But where is the fun in that..
Did you even watch the video dazzla? They covered that in the vid.
Sorry he said it should have a locating screw i just assumed the disc still had the thread and that he could use a random bolt.. my bad
MRP in NZ make some dope Toyota 4age to 7age conversion parts, that how I knew who you were talking about.
Love it, where's the 10mm 👍🏻👏
GSR Content yew! Stop messing around with family and work, and take it to the track!
Nice one mate, shows how important research is before buying. Look great, feel great, interested to hear your thoughts after a run at the track in the future

Thanks Higgo, yes, I spent way too much time deciding what to buy.
Brake upgrade = fullBBOOST fullBBOOST fullBBOOST
Mrp limited is where i got ae86 break kit. Awesome products and great customer service i found
thx for the vid, just purchased evo 7 master for my gsr as upgrading brakes also
Great video guys, good to see you getting your hands dirty 👍
Great vid guys , If you need track time your welcome to join us .
Gents, whenever I remove and reinstall wheels, to prevent chipping my fancy brembos I cover it in an old microfiber cloth, put the wheels on then pull the cloth off through the spokes. Nothing worse than a big dirty chip on your nice willwoods!
Noted, the clearance is tighter now, so they could easily be knocked.
Next pad change, change your pads to EBC Yellow Stuff, rated to 900 degrees and you will get better initial bite, they only get better as you get more heat into them when pushing it and are great from cold.
Great to see the bits are missing GSR
Love these kinds of vids. Pls do more!
Wait. That was Bazeng? I've seen his posts on GVR4.org for years now, and had no idea what he looked like. Neat!
Also love watching the videos on the Lancer. Keep it up!
Yes, when it's ready you'll see his new setup on this channel :)
Another great video keep up the good work guys.
GSR 🤙
Great video. Love watching the awesome jdm 90's & 2000 cars being done up. What is next on the cards?
Thanks. E85 for sure. But first the suspension will be looked at, a bunch of bushes need replacing.
Dude i can see you made this vid overseas where it is frightfully cold right now
Great kit! Totally agree with brake and wheel size.
What wheels are they?
iam doing the twin piston upgrade right now do you think the 7/8 brake master cylinder will be enough for the twin piston calipers
that brace stopper thing is that just bolted onto the booster? if so thats not doing anything lol, you need it attached to somewhere other then where the Master bolts onto like the strut tower.
also the masters are swapable as i did an early MC to an evo MC but i had to swap the housing around to move the clutch nipple around, the other thing is the outlet is on the side and for me that was a pita being LHD
I can see how it looks that way. At 17:55, see there is a allen bolt in the middle. That bolts to the bottom brace which is bolted to the rail (the stopper is 2-piece). I just noticed that footage was taken before the front bolt was put in (there is an adjustment bolt that goes in the front thread).
@@fullboost ok so it is being helped by a place thats not the firewall, thats good, it really did look like it was just connected to the booster haha, I have seen some random stuff before that people say works and I just cannot believe them lol
i have a mk1 rs2000 once i worked the motor i had to upgrade the brake's i went for wilwood pedal box volvo 4pot brake's and rs1600 bda disc best set up for the mk1 rs escort i can run 13'" or 16s
10:41 sneaky tiens i see :P

Were you able to lock them up ? if you cannot overdo the threshold you are not really in control...
FullBUMS!
Did mrp say you need to upgrade your master cylinder at the same time?
They do give that info on the website
I see the website has been updated :)
Lost a lot of surface area off your pads, mmmmm , track times will only tell. The smaller the pad the hotter they get!😁
Barry eng for the win
Just be careful of cheap knock-offs, the material/calipers sort off swells up...Seen a few Made in China 100% copy.
I saw evo 4 seat. Is it plug and play on evo 3?
Yes, they bolt in. No mods at all.
@@fullboost allright, thanks!
Hey guys do you have a link to the brake guys? Or does MRP New Zealand just come up on google??
www.mrpltd.co.nz/product/mitsubishi-evo-1-3-big-brake-kit/
That's a lot of money for a smaller brake pad
Probably but I'd still rather something with more pad surface. In my experience that makes up for a lot. And it seems clamping pressure is somewhat of a problem in this case.
Will you need a engineer's slip for the caliper upgrade?
Obviously close to the speed limit, nods head :)....You know ;)
Another possibility for the weak brakes could be a failing or weak booster. Is there a difference in size with what you have versus later models; and if the later ones are larger, do you have room for one?
So, is there a rear BBK upgrade available for the GSR? 👍 Is there anything bigger from OEM that is 4 stud? My mind keeps racking over L series, Triton, Magna, but I know all of them are 5 stud.
@ChrisHallett83 Wouldn't know bro. 🤷 That's why I'm asking the twins but it seems I'm still in the naughty corner over Jordo's haircut comment. 😂🤣
Even another OEM option from another company would be good. Might have a look for education purposes. 👍
Ceika claimed they did the rears but upon conversing with them, they realised they don't have this exact car's specs. I figured I'd drive around for sometime as it is now. There are other areas of the car I'd rather concentrate on.
@@fullboost I only did the fronts for the Cressida (R33 caliper/BA Falcon rotor), worked fine. 👍 Similar case, I haven't got any real rear brake choices either, only found A70 Supra's work on the rear for an upgrade. 🤷
If it starts wearing, just go to a harder pad or stock up on Bendix's like I did. 😂🤣
Let me know what you want just for the front callipers?
Been waiting for a gsr video for so long and fuck me was that boring
Do you happen to know the braking distance on the stock, your previous upgraded brakes to your new big brake upgrade?
No, I had the brakes apart and realised that would have been some very useful stats...oops.
Anyone used the ceika brakes?
Come on man, it's Pizza cutters not cheese cutters. You cut cheese with a knife
After a 20 min video, that's all you have? Jog on.
@@mr33spitnbarz28 haha, oh fuck. Lee doesn't approve of my light hearted comment. Sorry Lee, I'll just "jog on" then. Where's your amazing and relevant comment on the video champ?
@@MickiDracing meow
Yeah good point, not all pizza has cheese either.
Video niye 20 dk değil
Really when you have 12 pistons worth of fluid to displace over 4 (yes I know it's surface area) it's seems logical that you would need a bigger master cylinder to displace that amount of fluid
Yes, I hear ya, although others with these cars say on original master theirs is ok.
