I would go for a nice new modern small frame turbo like g25 and an exhaust first and of course an external wategate with a screamer straight out the bonnet. Because i know how much you love screamers

Definitely a turbo and camshaft upgrade. The stock engine will take it if you keep peak torque down, and it will help with the drivetrain reliability.
My evo 1 racecar is currently running 330kw at the hubs on a stock bottom end.
G25-660 turbo with kelford cams and springs.
There's a bloke in Brisbane pushing 480kw on a completely stock unopened 6 bolt bottom end. So yeah, they can definitely take it as long as timing is kept low at peak torque
What's he done to his gearbox?

I did a compression test on my B5 Audi yesterday. It's full bolt on plus a few other things. But it now has over 220K miles... 75-80psi! Luckily I am almost done building the new engine, low limit is 101psi but should be above 120 and high side cam be as much as 160-170psi. I can't believe the car still runs as good as it does.
Do what you were doin at the end mate enjoy it and drive it. Interior is perfect

im an american DSM guy that trans can take up to 500 or so hp as long as it doesnt come in hard before 4k rpm and keep no Drag tires allowed..lol. that seems to be the number we figured out. love this car.. i suggest looking into FP turbo's they got exactly what u need for a street 4g63

Maybe a decent exhaust and exaust manifold and something along the lines of a G30 55m turbo. Keep the boost low, around 18-20. Should live happy for some time. Add cams if you can deal with them. Not really needed for a smooth daily.
I think a G25 660 would probably be as big as I'd go.

My Evo 1 is almost identical to your GSR. The big 16g turbo does a fine job, a heap more power isn't really required for these cars and could probably even ruin the driving experience (and fourth gear). I'd get that gearbox rebuilt for ease of mind, throw in a front 1way and rear 1.5way LSD, get the Teins corner weight balanced and go make some WRXs and Golfs mad on the track.
mines at 400awkw and the driving experience is pretty good :)
How are the diffs for daily drivability? Mate has 1 front and 1.5 rear cuscos in his Subaru and they're rough as for low speed turning, carparks etc
What happen to Baz´s 3000GT track car?
It's been put on the back burner. Mechanically there. Just need fab and wiring to get her running. Unfortunately too busy working on other people's cars.
