    I have the ipad air 2020 4th gen model and i just purchased a dynamic XLR & USB mic! How do listen to myself without a wired headphone? Is there no other way?

    • @Riversidefm
      @Riversidefm  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You do need a *wired* pair of headphones specifically. There is software on Mac and PC that you could work around it, but there will be a slight delay in what you hear and makes wireless headphones unusable when recording to monitor yourself.

    Is it possible to connect more than one mic to record multiple guests? Or does everyone have to have their own iPads and mics?

    • @Riversidefm
      @Riversidefm  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can connect multiple mics through an audio interface to Riverside, but they will be combined into one track on your Riverside account. You can augment this by recording to a local SD card or using software, more info here! th-cam.com/video/FdkcLfm14O4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sv8XS3Bc0Zpawof4

    • @Riversidefm

      If they're all remote and using the iPad app to record, you still get a separate audio and video track for everyone that was in the recording!

    Having some issues when i plug in my shure 58 mic using the xlr to usbc cable. The issue is that i can get the microphone to work but do not have the ability to hear with airpods. Is this a common issue or can anyone help me with this?

    • @Riversidefm
      @Riversidefm  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not familiar with the XLR to USB cable and not sure that would work. Have you tried a straight USB mic? And are you choosing AirPods as the speaker output in Riverside to hear remote guests?

    • @Macenhowells
      @Macenhowells 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Riversidefm I can hear the guest when he uses the microphone, but he can not hear himself. For simplicity we kept the xlr to usb-c cord and microphone and that works great just the Ipad user can not hear himself.

      Not at all! You get a separate video track for the remote guest, and another for you! They're saved locally on each person's device and then uploaded for you to download in the Riverside dashboard

    When I try to use an external audio interface (USB) from the iOS mobile application (iPad M1) I encounter many problems.
    1. The message telling me that a wired device is connected only appears sometimes. It appears if for example I launch the GarageBand application before launching the Riverside application. Most of the time it doesn't appear and the application keeps using the built-in microphone and speakers.
    2. Even when the message appears, no matter which option I choose (microphone only or both) it has no effect, the iPad's microphone and speakers continue to be used.
    I tested with the following interfaces:
    - Røde videoMic NTG
    - Røde Rodecaster Pro 1st gen.
    - Zoom F3
    - Zoom F6
    - Audient ID4 MKII
    - Yamaha AG-03 MKII
    - Apogee Mic Plus
    Whatever the interface, the result is always the same. All these interfaces work well in other applications.
    It seems obvious that the type of setup mentioned in this video is not functional

      Hi Bertrand, what iPadOS is your iPad running, and are you using any adapter or USB hubs between the audio interfaces and iPad?

    • @BertrandDour
      @BertrandDour ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Riversidefm Hi!
      iPadOS 16.2 (20C65) (not a Beta), iPad Pro (12.9-inch) (5th generation), Model: MHRE3TY/A
      No adapter or hub, original cables, all interfaces tested on the iPad (GarageBand + Cubasis) before running the tests with Riverside

    • @Riversidefm
      @Riversidefm  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BertrandDour Have you attempted to connect a single USB mic directly to your iPad? Does that work?

    • @BertrandDour
      @BertrandDour ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Riversidefm
      As you can see in my first comment I've tried:
      - Røde videoMic NTG
      - Apogee Mic Plus
      Which are class compliant single USB video mics (the Apogee is even recommended on your website).
      Obviously the code to support external audio interfaces is in the app but broken somewhere.
      It seems that the problem also appeared 4 month ago: th-cam.com/video/2W-ufTN-tsk/w-d-xo.html
      Also the random appearance of the pop-up detecting a wired interface is not a normal behavior.

    • @BertrandDour
      @BertrandDour ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Riversidefm If it helps anyone here (since the answers from your official support are inaccurate and often contradictory). After running several tests (killing all apps, restarting the iPad, only Riverside open), here are my findings:
      - USB interfaces are well supported by the iOS application (contrary to the support claims)
      - Most of the recent Apogee and Yamaha interfaces seem to work fine
      - All Audient and Røde I could test do not work
      The number of channels in the interface does not seem to affect operation. Whether or not the interface works with FaceTime doesn't really prove anything (it was your support service official reply).
      I will test with the Zoom interfaces soon (F3, F6) and edit the comment based on the results.
