this is crazy. I live in Maine and have for the last 24 years. Anyone who wants to retire here must love high prices and getting nothing in return for it other than 6 months of dark cold weather. The great days of Maine being cheap and old timey are over. I'm definitely gonna retire to a warmer climate and keep my real estate to rent out on airbnb. Old people are better off looking for a warm climate as when we get old our bodies have a more difficult time with the cold. And who wants to be in the dark most of the year when they retire anyway? This video makes no sense at all. It should say "Where to Retire From Maine"...

You would be crazy to retire to Maine, unless you're have a lot of disposable cash, because you're going to pay for the quaintness.
Maine is the third highest taxed state in the nation, completely controlled by democrats at this point, and as I write this, the governor is about apply more taxes on ambulances, and pot shops, and Netflix. They aren't accountable, and they don't care. I'm going to retire someplace where the cost of living is easier, and it's warm.
