    It's crazy how much time and meticulous work you guys had to put into this project to get it where you wanted it!
    The fact that you guys are good enough to set your own bar for quality lets anyone lucky enough to own something you guys did work on, that it's worth paying guys like you more, (sometimes a lot more), to get the results that you always (seem to) get!
    I'm a frugal scotsman, and I've become a fair critic and judge of visual results of work like this.
    I know that I would be able to preform the work myself, if I had the proper tools and an abundance of time to get it done.
    This is why I choose to design the parts and describe them to the guy I have doing my labor for me, because I find it difficult to make my ideas translate from my brain into a concept drawing without any method of sizing or dimensional processing.
    You guys appear able to do just that without missing a beat!

    If you hang a piece of tape across the truck when you're using the ram you can tell how far you are moving it. Apply the tape tight then measure a half inch or so, however much movement you expect and let it droop. When you apply the force from the ram the tape will pull tight telling you how far you've moved it.

    Guys, help a friend with a bullet casting business and he monitors his lead content in his blood often. His is well below any concern at all and he wears no ppe like you guys are wearing. He says that keeping the lead temp below 700 F is the secret and no dust of any kind. If you were grinding the lead that would be different. Guess over precautious is better though.

    • @jeremymurphy7320
      @jeremymurphy7320 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I worked with lead several years ago and while I wasn't ever grinding it or causing dust, I was pouring molten lead into plugs on lead-core doors for xray rooms, nuclear plants, etc.
      We only kept the lead at maybe 600°F and I had to wear a mask with the canisters and tubes that were on my back. I had my levels checked every six weeks and always came back negative. I always wore latex gloves under my work gloves and was able to wash my clothes at the plant so they never came into my car or house. I showered there, too, when I had to work with it.

    • @jeremymurphy7320

      Now I'm only 48, so correct me if I'm wrong here. As I recall, some of the Bill Hines (sorry if I spelled wrong) customs almost had more lead than steel in them, and yet those gorgeous paint jobs have survived to this day. If a feller has trouble painting over lead, I reckon the problem isn't the lead, it's the paint. Just my two cents worth...
