I remember watching this episode when it aired, and being surprised that Brent finally got the chance to say a full sentence. I can only remember a single occasion when he got the opportunity to take the lead, and it only lasted for about a minute. It was during a stretch of episodes when Rick Bacon was more or less flying solo as the host. I don’t remember what the repair/fabrication/installation was, but Brent finally got the chance to explain the technical and practical side of it to the audience, and he held his own just fine. They could/should have given him more opportunities like it, but I never saw it happen again. Alas, Brent Buttrey, you flew too close to the sun.

So if a car company decided to make a high performance engine, they would start with a truck block over a passenger car block.
Love the rebuild of the 61 Impala. I fail to understand the excitement of smoking a pair of tires at $300 a pop in a 45 second burnout. It seems like something a 14 year old mind would like.
I watched a show where the person that bought Lead Sled, wanted to take to the Power Tour so, He took it to a shop the get it ready to do the tour. The guys at the shop had nothing good to say about the work on Lead Sled, they said the headlights were held in with zip ties!!!!!

This video was posted in 2020. This morning I found a video from 2011 from a shop that took this car in to "fix" it to make it road worthy, and another video where it was displayed at the 2013 SEMA show. I know they did some excellent body work on this thing, but there is a disconnect from a car built for a show and reality. Ty-rapping the headlights in? Having to fix the rear suspension? This show has lost some of it's luster for me.
It's not really a 409 anymore. Yeah it's a 409 block but you had custom pistons and everything made for it. I'm sure that custom machining work was not cheap. Also I hope you guys own a torque wrench. There's a reason why manufacturers have specs.

What a relief. A Camaro got best muscle car award. I was worried they were going to give it to something different and creative.
You expect them to be original?
I love that you did not drop an LS in that thing.
Not using an LS was pretty cool but I would have used a 5 speed manual. The transmission is almost the same size and overdrive improves gas mileage
