Why are people saying his playing was bad? Have you ever played an amp and have people turn knobs at random and expect your playing to accommodate? I thought the amp sounded great and we see a good range of tones.
Peter Broberg * Actually yeah I have had that happen, my bass players son came up on stage and started Turning knobs on my amp at random and crapped all over my tone and just threw me off in general, but I adapted fast and recovered by the end of the song. The bass players son was drunk and never recovered from that.
few bucks. I still do not understand why people want a footswitch directly with the amp. Orange gives you the opportunity to buy a footswitch separatly so you dont end up with 5 footswitches.
Still pretty expensive.. I love it though. But I saw there's a 50watt version as well.. how's that Dark Terror? I'm thinking about buying it, but does it work live?
For god sakes Orange, just make an OR30 quad el84's with a foot switchable boots for solos. I was so excited about namm winter 2014. Didn't expect another metal amp.
one can only hope. but i doubt it. he's said before that he's in no position to make gci a big production. most of what he builds just goes out to his friends; doesn't make any profit.
Having owned a couple of Orange amp, I can say without a doubt, you are paying a lot for the name. Build quality is very average. Sound quality is subjective, like all amps, but they do have a voice. For the price of one of these, you could have several used, well made, versatile amps by other builders. Or just one other versatile amp and a bunch of money in the bank. Just my opinion, which doesn't mean a thing to people with unlimited budgets! Orange' sales success speaks for itself.
true comment. orange has great marketing. 65% of the price is the orange name 35% of the price is the build quality. its a chinese amp. hughes and kettner is doing the same thing. companies are making good money at it..
@@HalfLifeAMD This amp is made in the UK. The price is pretty comparable to any 50- or 100-watt tube head made with a combination of PCB/turret board and hand wiring that's not built in Asia. Suhr, Friedman, Mesa, Marshall...Bogners cost even more.
I find this stupid really. All people wanted was a Clean Channel besides the Dark Terror, not another Gain Channel which also has 4 gain stages and can't do clean stuff.
Always the shit talkers playing armchair virtuoso from the comfort of their computer chair on these videos. The point is the amp, who cares if he isn't playing all of your elitist "demo riffs" that you think sound great at guitar center.
I love Orange cabs, but never their heads. They are always lacking in everything but fizz and farts...and especially for that money, it makes it alot easier to shop elsewhere.
Most modern guitarist in metal/hardcore could use this amp. That's what the majority of "heavy" music is these days. No one plays how this dude is playing. Get someone who knows modern heavy music. I'm sick of seeing these dudes stuck a decade or two or more ago. When so many people that could benefit off this aren't gonna buy it because its being marketed towards "old school 'classic'" metal guys. There's no demo videos for any kind of modern guitarist. All these tones that have been done a million times over doing the same shitty shredding.
Everybody knows what is modern heavy music: tune as low as possible ( 8 string guitars? low F#?? WTF!! do you want to fire the bass player? ) and play "chugga chugga" syncopated riffs. I don't want to be disrispectfull ( I think that Slipknot are one of the best metal bands of the last years) , but, there are some musics out there besides metal. No one is better than the rest. I don't like hip hop , but I respect the fact which there are som people who like it.
yeah see you guys clearly aren't up to date with most modern heavy music. cause not all modern heavy music is low tuned or dropped an octave. and slipknot, i like slipknot they're ok. butttt they aren't relevant what so ever. they haven't put out anything new in forever and they don't play anything modern. and any style of post hardcore/hardcore/metal/math music. you guys are defiantly both past your 20's or 30's. all i said was modern guitarists can benefit from this, name any artists in the last 5-10 years that really sound like this? you guys both got butt hurt that i called your style of music not relevant and then you put up some bs argument from some fabricated preconceived opinion. I play in a post hardcore band in standard tuning, I rarely use power chords. I know a lot of bands that could really benefit off it and they dont use it. btw slipknot uses orange heads and cabs.
If you value your sanity, don't go into the comments section of this video.

People are judgy pricks.
Orange needs to include the footswitch with their amps, Hint,Hint Orange ;-)
how much do they charge for the footswitch separately?
few bucks. I still do not understand why people want a footswitch directly with the amp. Orange gives you the opportunity to buy a footswitch separatly so you dont end up with 5 footswitches.
Finaly the ultimate perfect orange amp..damn it!!!
!!! Aint that the dude that taught Pantera to Madonna?
Sounds nice.
Aside from the fact that this is black and has 100 watts, what's the difference between this and the Thunderverb 200?
What kind of guitar is he playing?
how about the price? i just bought the dark terror, like a month ago...
Still pretty expensive.. I love it though. But I saw there's a 50watt version as well..
how's that Dark Terror? I'm thinking about buying it, but does it work live?
How much do these things go for, they never answered the question damn it!!?
can this amp get good modern metal tones at bedroom volume?
Buy a dark terror for bedroom levels its a lot cheaper..
+Daveyboy but this has an attenuator....lol that's why i ask. I will most likely be getting the EVH 5150 III and the rockerverb MKIII 50w
yes
3:05, he fuckin smoked his ass with that comment!
Does it come with effects loop
Indeed
This tone is beyond!
wow!
Nice
Bet The Ghost Inside are gonna use this amp.
Godcity Instruments. oye
what mids?
4:58 Wonder if he plays the Dual Dark at Madonna gigs? He sure can afford a Dual Dark.
Madonna gig?

AD30???
@downonluck59 this comment aged well, turns out 😂❤
@@TheeKeenBean holy crap!! 🤣 I’d like my royalties now please 🙏
Cool amp I'll stick with my th30 head. Cleans are amazing on my amp and just as much gain as this one.
Lol man up and bring it son.
52,000 views !? Does that mean 52,000 potential customers !? I think so !
I need a god city instrument guitar
Was Kurt Ballou introducing his axe as well at NAMM!? God City Instruments!
one can only hope. but i doubt it. he's said before that he's in no position to make gci a big production. most of what he builds just goes out to his friends; doesn't make any profit.
Michael Ramirez Supply and demand.. A matter of time. :(
Michael Ramirez You sure about that now?
negativeascension
yeah! he kinda did it on his contribution for CreativeLive few weeks ago, wich I'm completely ok with.
Hey guys, nice videos ! You should go check french guitar brand Custom77, Hall E booth 1480 ;) They're awesome !
I think around $30-40.00 Dollars
There needs to be more string on that guitar, like, 8
Theo agree about chapman.
That is madonnas guitarist. Monty
Does that dude flat iron his beard? wtf?
rofl looks like it
The gain on that amp (in my opinion) sounds way to fuzzy and over the top fizz, like its balls just fell off on the production line.
Forget those amps... Those hair styles.
Lmao Monte Pittman is an awesome guitarist, he's just making noise.
get this dude a guitar with a good high output pickup.
Monte is a great player.. However, this video doesn't do justice to him or Orange Amps..
Funky beard! But this amp actually sounds kind of good in real life. Too bad it was a bad demo of it :(
HAHA TWEEPOP AMP!?
I don't care how fast you can play... Just do a damn demo.
Needs more fizz.

I guess if you want to review an amps capabilities you have to do it yourself.. too bad not a lot of shops carry all the higher priced items.
G.e.i guitars ?
g.c.i. god city instruments. kurt ballou from converge makes those guitars himself i believe.
Oh yes, thanks Nick
His beard looks fake.
Anthony Leal thats what I thought
I find this stupid really. All people wanted was a Clean Channel besides the Dark Terror, not another Gain Channel which also has 4 gain stages and can't do clean stuff.

I think the playing was fine but i dunno whether its the pickups or the amp just sounds like shit because that was tinny and washed out like hell imo

too bassy. will definitely get lost in the mix. please add some mids
Pretty awful demo and I like Orange amps.

Sometimes I wonder when hipsters entered into the metal scene.
Great amp... Terrible player
Says guitar god Pedro...
that was the worst guitar playing i have heard in a while. damn.
Horrible Tone Horrible Guitar Player!
