Yes...parry, deflect, counter, dodge. Easy to say, harder to make, lol. Time to make 30 more levels for me probably and then try again :) But this guide is really cool, especially this slow motion.
Imposing slab was very, very helpful in this fight. I had fought him a about 20 times before finally defeating him. A bit of advice would be to attempt this fight without bringing in any reinforcements, as you want all his attacks focused on you so you don't miss any chances to deflect his critical moves. After getting rid of the reinforcements, I beat him on my 4th try.
Took me around 12 tries. I did what you said and just deflected everything while throwing imposing slab and Ominous chill when my accomplices were attacking. They died halfway through but I played the waiting game and just countered. Thanks. Even finished the fight with 3 heals. His last phase is the hardest because he just starts doing critical attacks back-back-back
Thanks for watching and leaving your feedback! I had others suggest imposing slab after watching too. I started using it on other bosses and it’s great. I actually prefer when they go into critical because it moves along the tempo of the fight. Good luck with the rest of the game!
Thank you for slowing down and pointing out the signs of when to deflect. After seeing how he moved for myself, Lu Bu didn't look too bad regarding his patterns in general, plus my character can tank a bunch of his regular attacks, but my deflects are not on point. Didn't help that much of the bosses before Lu Bu allowed me to get away with lucky deflects for a while, so the boss difficulty was all over the place. Will be on my fourth attempt, and may likely take more, but at least I got something to begin with.
Four tries! That’s awesome. The charge attack is what got me. I figured I had to slow it down so people could really get the timing. It’s one of the harder attacks to dodge. There are a few bosses coming up that are very deflection heavy too. Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching!
@@rivtekk Oddly enough, I had a better time timing my deflects when he was off his horse. Probably because he takes longer to land his leap and takes longer to reach you during his charge. That horse running around can be annoying, though, even when turtling him. I learned that his insta-charge attack is easier to deflect if you can put some huge distance between yourself, as you will have some time to prepare yourself. Also find it hilarious the number of times I managed to just walk between his arrow spread, no block or deflects needed.
@@rivtekk Oh, I think I just realized you may have misunderstood me. At the time of my post, I was making a fourth attempt, and expected to die more afterwards. 😅 So, I am here to say it took maybe triple the number of attempts before I FINALLY BEAT LU BU! 😭 I still can't deflect the horseback charge attack consistently, but I managed long enough to beat him. Didn't even have ominous chill and the majority of the water phase to rely on, so using your vid as a starting point to learn the timings of the critical attacks REALLY helped. Thank you, you have my respects. 🤝
For me this boss is the skill check in the game. There's other bosses with annoying gimmicks or repeating patterns but Lu Bu is the most "souls like" boss in my opinion.
That was the attack I had the most trouble with. That’s why I tried to slow down the video and show the timing as best as I could. It took me a few times to get it down.
This guy is a pain .. I get him down to nothing and mess my whole run up 🤦🏻♂️ and I don’t think I was ever taught how to count that high 😂 I’ve beat every ds but this boss is something else 😅
my only confusion is the horse in the air, since my camera doesn't get angled up all the time and idk whether the horse or lubu is the one to watch. other than that very helpful
I played exactly as you played: I let the fight come to me, and punished Lu Bu when I could. Parrying the critical blow while he was on the ground was the hardest but I eventually caught on. Lvl 21 rank, all weapons at at least 260 min. Don’t get greedy, be patient and he will fall. Man, it felt good beating him.
God, this fight sucks. I know the Romance of the Three Kingdoms makes Lu Bu out to be superhuman, but any boss fight where the key to victory is to just stand still, hold down block, and wait to parry him instead of actually fighting isn't fun. In Dynasty Warriors I can juggle combo this jerk to death or just nope out. Here, he's just a giant tedious roadblock with no room for error. He hits insanely hard, moves ridiculously fast, spams super moves like no tomorrow, has next to no openings, and can just cancel his own break gauge by hopping on or off the horse. And reinforcements are worse than useless here even at Sworn Brother status. It's especially annoying because in ROTK, he's defeated by the Peach Blossom Trio all combining their skills, and here, bringing help is an active hindrance. But I figured he would have been designed as a trio battle considering that little fun fact and boy howdy, he is not. If this guy is this stupid overpowered, what is any of the logic behind him not just being the protagonist of the story instead?
Lu Bu is probably the most difficult boss in all of Wo Long....but he doesn't have to be. Here is a simple breakdown that should help get you to victory. Thank you for watching. Please like and if you enjoy content like this, please consider subscribing!
I failed this boss seven times yesterday and the other bosses I beat after 2-5 tries. It’s just hard to time the countering/parrying on all his attacks. I will beat him though.
This is how I did it, but I still uninstalled the game after it. It made me realize how tedious I found it to just have to wait to deflect and how un engaged I was because of it.
Two levels after Lu Bu is a performance nightmare. I was maxing out at 45 FPS with a 3090 on PC. It makes me hesitant to keep playing. We all just need something to hold us over until the Elden Ring DLC🤣
f*** this cancerous fight, sometimes he will leap 100m into the air and take like 5 seconds to land, other times it's instant. Multiple times I've gotten him halfway and his leaps go to like 1m off the ground and hit me in about 1 second.
I like this boss. It gives me malenia vibes. My morale was only 16 ,and I wasn't wearing any armor, and with no reinforcements , and only +3 weapon .It took me 5 hours to beat this. It's like genichiro with gael's toughness.
I personally thought the first boss was easier because it was almost all deflections. Lu Bu, while he had a move set, sometimes he would just do random stuff like slam arrows 🤣
Nice video. One comment from a fromsoftware fan. This game has no visual logic when it comes to deflect. You literally need to try several times to know when you do it. Sekiro is 1000 harder, but you know when you just screwed up, here is just like, wtf? Do I need to block 2 seconds before he hits me? Ok, I'll do that next time
When I think of "here's an easy way to kill a boss" I don't think of "He's going to have to use all of his healing items to barely pull it off". Anyway, the problem is how much health he has. It's just stupid. Not sure why bosses in this game feel the need to have a stupid amount of health.
@ look I appreciate the effort, and I understand a lot of work went into the video, and I’m sorry I was rude but what I thought was if someone has already made it to Lu Bu, I’d think they would know what to look for when fighting an enemy in terms of timing his critical attacks to deflect. But again, I take back what I said.
Impossible tó beat. Parrying all his attacks is useless. I take dmg. Block is to random. 70% of the time not possible. Chara diod nothing or is doing jump. And is taking dmg than. He is to fast, to block at the right moment. Even if i manage to block one attack, is he attack, as if nothing was there without stopp. I deont even manage 1 hit, befor he is attacking again and do high dmg. Blocking, while his fire is one is useless to. Im taking even than dmg. Im lvl 50-60 and make 0 dmg and are dead in 3 hits or less. While he hjas his lp nearly at 100% each time.

The guy told me NOTHING I DIDN4T FO PERFECTLY ALREADY. Ther booss spamms and cheats for hours and I can't even attack.
FINALLY.. someone smart enough to just stand still and deflect, my god it’s been so painful watching everyone chase him around and die for it
Yeah he’s definitely designed to just be parried. It’s a little slower but a wins a win.

@@Pharmboy6 same here... Insanely hard... I was just about 1/10 of his life, summoned the pillars one, and the game totally freezed.... I lost
when hes off the horse and does that spinning charge critical atk, it is really hard to time that counter.

The issue is his health bar…not the boss. I hate long drawn out battles..they’re boring! The other bosses were easy to defeat.

I keep getting 1 shot destroyed by the flame slam jump thing he does and can't seem to avoid it, pretty much can't progress
People keep saying this is a skill check - personally I found it a very boring fight. Took about 15 tries.
Once you figure out the pattern it isn’t that bad. It’s definitely boring.
