I’ve beaten Lu bu probably 30 times by now just farming him, and I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s actually really easy if you just stand still and deflect
I also feel the same way. If you look around a lot of people say to be really aggressive. Whatever works for them I guess but for me it's more efficient to deflect his arrows and light attacks to build up your spirit while keeping distance to try and bait his big red attacks so you can parry then strong attack to lower his max spirit. 90% of your damage to him should be when he's stunned after his spirit is broken.
@@DubsCP I'm used to dark souls type games so it's definitely a learning curve for me. I'm enjoying the game though & trying different builds. So happy re-rolling builds is free
Water is actually is weakness though. You can turn off his fire by just casting the 1st water spell. Also use Ominous Chill and Malignant Icefall when he steps back to shoot arrows. You can get around 150-250 dmg. Deflecting Lu Bu's combos then using an ordinary spirit attack will break him faster too.
Yea, I totally didn't pay attention to the affinities chart lol. But yes after uploading i realized Water is def. The weakness. I'm going to try that ominous chill though. This is my first playthrough, so I just wanted to use whatever to get this dude defeated. He was getting on my nerves lol

Best not to use any reinforcements for this boss...you want to bait him into doing his unblockable attacks....no real cheese for him..just have to get good.
This is actually a good method to make the fight easier for ppl who don’t want to fight him at level 35-40 , a lot of ppl are farming and goin into areas pretty over leveled , he can be challenging if u go in at the required level for it and the fights actually pretty sick , every fight when ur over leveled is just a breeze tho same for elden ring and all souls games
Hmm trying this now and barely scratched him because it's like trying to fight the flash, he doesn't stand still long enough for me to get a hit on him, even if i get a lucky deflection on his attacks.
@@DubsCP it doesn’t work because he just runs away before the slab hits him lol. Also you’re way overlevel for this mission, is that why you’re doing so much damage with the slab?
That's how I play all my games lol even down to Pokémon... and the crazy thing is I still struggled with certain bosses on Wo Long even though I was at a much higher level
@@ac30helix44 So, what I like to do is always get to Morale 25 on every map...in doing so, I get tons of XP because I usually have high Qi Retention on my build....around 30% So as I repeat areas of a map by resting at the battle flag, I just rinse and repeat killing the enemies around the battle flag. Usually within 30mins of getting morale 25, I've leveled up probably a good 5-10 times depending on the level that I'm at. At this point in the game, I think I started this map at Level 68 and just grinded the enemies. Also, each time Lu Bu defeated me, it knocked me back to Morale 20, so I had to get back to 25 and grinded xp this way as well. Man, I know that was long, but I hope it helps
There is an easier method well it takes more preparation but no special gear. Just like in elden ring lvl ur character enough up and everything becomes relatively easy. I understand that the young generation doesn’t want to put the time and effort in because that’s not something being teached anymore. But if u lvl up enough it will be easy just like elden ring became breeze with a 175 lvl character breezing and almost one shot everything.
Or you could put in the time and effort to learn the moveset. Leveling just takes time not really a lot of effort, there's guides of people farming materials and levels in this game where they're like "oh i have a second stream up while i'm doing this boring leveling". It's automation not active learning and effort.
To be fair it’s not ab the younger generation not wanting to put time in, souls and souls like game are loved and known for their challenge , leveling up all crazy is pretty much cheesing it and you never really experience the satisfaction ina insane back and forth fight bc it then becomes you being way over leveled and just breezing thru a game that’s loved for challenge by its community , everyone has a right to their own play thru but even in this video he had to if farmed enemies bc fighting lubu at level 76 when the area isn’t even a level 40 area indicates that, I fought and beat him at level 37, went back to help a friend fight him at level 60 and ofc it was way easier bc I was simply over leveled for him

Yeah i been tryna get a no hit run on him just deflecting.. beat him and I wasn't even trying cuz i kept failing the no hit part.

I'm starting to figure that out. This game is LITERALLY all deflection and counter.
Besides stone attack power, you can invest in elemental atk power, and reduce the amount of spirit for earth wizardry.
This fight is all about learning his timing, changing your build will be useless unless you learn to fight him. Once you do your build is irrelevant.

His actual cryptonite is ability to deflect his attacks and fight with him. He is less forgiving on NG+ and further.

Imposing slab carried me throughout new game. Most of the bosses invest first try simply due to the health damage imposing slab does

The best count to fire in Wo Long is not Earth. Water is fires counter.

@@DubsCP to be fair heavyness (the earth debuff) let's him take much more spirit DMG so it makes him quiet a bit easier too

Yea, he's a SoB for sure, but as soon as you deflect a red attack, spam the stone slab
