Good stuff, pretty easy to follow. Just a small point, level correction uses your unit's level not the enemy's. It doesn't make a difference to your calculations but it does mean you should always level your damage dealers to 120.
It's great info I went and researched. You and the other FFBE tubers are doing a great job bringing the info to the front. I'm not the best at this but I think this video would have been a little better as a mini series as at some points I could tell you got really excited and info dumped...I do the same thing. Thanks again for bringing this to video form Mars.

This is the perfect video for beginners and older players alike. It seems you didn't mention jump boost in the multipliers section (might be wrong I'm only 21 minutes in). For some reason the wiki refuses to edit it in, although it's a night and day difference to understand why dragoons are so powerful. Maybe you could dedicate a video to jump mechanics using the same format? (I know you already have a dragoon video but this new format is ideal)
It is actually in the wiki on the Mechanics page under the Physical Damage section, but it's a little hidden. Look for "multipliers", jump damage is listed in there
Very nice vid. I've been playing for over a year now, and the vid taught me a couple of new things and deepened my knowledge of some things I already knew. Very straightforward presentation. You can see (hypothetically) the impact that these various tools have on our numbers, and you really can use these concepts to make an "OP" team, as the title says. Well done. :)

my cg Lid can break all stat aoe by 79% on command (save for 1st turn) because I built her heavy on lb gain. Now that I calculated it, 4% higher breaks does really make a huge difference wow. Great video! One thing that I want to point out is that, well it's true that no boss is imune to imperils per say, some of them have very high resistance that can completely negate an imperil, such as Omega having 300% resistance to all elements except for Lightning. Good luck finding a 200%+ imperil to allow for damage with different elements to Omega. By the way, can we have a video on the best LB fillers? For those of us who want to run 7* Zarg but aren't sure how to keep his limit up 100% of the time, or want to rock out other amazing LBs every turn or two.

I love this game. But i always thought it was unfair. I was super new to this complex damge and defence stuff so i just put some ok damage dealers in my party. Im like level 54 and i didnt even know i had the units to make myself an absolute beast in the trials. I was struggling through the campain before this video. And after watching this I understand the mechanics now. You saved my life with this video!!!!

So glad I got the Breakers I need. 2b and Loren 7 star, need 1 more Zarg for ZargaGOD. I have 7 star WKN, need one more Sieg for 7star, but do have M. Ramza 7 star and Gladiolus 7 star. As for imperils and Damage I have a well rounded units; 7star Kryla if I really need imperil and breakers. 7 star PG Lasswell, 7star Raegan, 7 star Sephiroth, 7star Christine. Jiraiya 7star for Human, Reberta 7star for Dragon, A2 7star for Machines.

Great vid, just one little correction cover mitigation for 7* tanks is not 70% , they have a range, in sieghart case his basic AoE has 50-70% same as eWoL.

2B is a definite go-to unit for machine monsters weak to lightning. She's essentially both trifectas in one unit (well not so much the tank and mitigation roles though she has some strong DEF and a static 10% mitigation)! Ever since I got 2B this game essentially turned into easy mode since I didn't have a break stronger than 50% at the time. The 50-74% split is huuuuuuuuuuuuge and even then I rarely used breaks in my 50% era.
Excellent video, watched every second and hopefully totally absorbed it. One question: Are killers worth sacrificing chaining? The Veritas of Light example works best I think since she can only really chain with herself. Would it be worth taking her against her preferred targets over someone with no killers but who can chain?

there is something i dont understand... would a defense buff of 100% cut the damage input in half?? (acording to the first formula)... so why it's better to have 50% mitigation if it has the exact same impact? and actually we have a lot of 150% buffers on the game now, so that would definitely be better to maximize your defensive stats
Buffs only increase a stat acording to its base value, so lets say you have a willhem with 800 DEF with equipment against an enemy with 1000 ATK, if the base DEF of willhem is 200 and you buff his DEF by 100% you would end up with 1000 DEF and take 1000 points of damage, if instead you mitigate damage by 50% your DEF wouldnt increase but the total damage would be reduced to 625
So in short; Have an OP breaker to break Have tanks and mitigation support to defend Have elements and killers on attacker And have imperil support ( usually on said attacker) Ok good to know
I knew these things existed, but I mostly disregarded them in favor of pure numbers. So I took this into consideration in a fight with iron giant and took out 99 percent of it's health in 1 turn where before it was like 10 or 15 using a couple barbies. This is indeed the way to go.
Zargabath is way superior. I got all the buffers but only use zarg now, even 7* cg nichol cannot beat him..I would use nichol to aoe lb fast if needed. Thars only missing from zarg, no lb build-up
@@realpopchaser not sure where you're getting this from. I suggest you calculate the total damage mitigation SS Nichol can offer (58%) as opposed to the max 50% Zarg offers. He also comes with stronger defensive buffs. If your tank isn't WKN or Sieghart, you're better off with SS Nichol as far as incoming damage is concerned. Don't get me wrong, Zarg is amazing and is the better buffer overall but no one beats SS Nichol in the defense department yet, which isn't exactly weird since it's his niche.

And elemental---- yeah, he's god everything. 100% evade.... and more than a few times, he's frustratingly ended up sole survivor because he alone can't pass the damage check. Even if he's death-impaired...

Gorgeous Pose also does 60-75%, so it can definitely vary. Just wanted to show the upper end of what mitigation can do. :)

Chaining is more important. But you can use LV as a finisher instead! :D
