    Miss my old Marco dealer. Every week he would come up to everyone & ask if you had anything for him to warranty today. Can’t say the same thing for dealers.

    My MATCO guy is as good as they get, He rebuilt my EZ Red 3/4" ratchet that I purchased off my MIA Snap On Guy. And he didn't charge me a dime. That is why I am a MATCO fan !

    Michael is a good dude. Our Snap On guy is like him. We've asked him for certain pieces and if he didn't have it but it was in a set he has, he has no problem opening up a set to pull the piece out. That there keeps me buying stuff from him. Much to my wallet's dismay.

    I've had pretty good luck with having good tool dealers, especially matco tool dealers, they never hesitated to warranty the product they sell. The new matco dealer i got back in January is the best ove had so far, fought tooth and nail to get warranty on my revelx, that I didn't even get through him. That speaks volumes alone.

    Your one of my new go to for tool info. Love the vids. 24 year tech and have way to much invested in tools. LoL. I have a great matco dealer and a great Cornwell dealer. Our area hasn’t had a Snapon rep in so long I don’t have very many of there stuff left. Went through hell dealing with mail in warranty wit a broken tip on a Phillips screwdriver and a ratchet. Three attempts to get it right.

    My dad kicked out one Matco dealer out he had.Had a broken socket and the dealer would not warranty it.Matco is good with warrantying broken tools without a dealer,do it online.Had to set up an online account to do it up to 15 tools.Recieved 13 of the 15 replacements sending in 15 tools.Another way to check for a bad coil is switch it to another cylinder.If there is a change,coil is bad.Midwest Tool Review did buy one of those blue handled ratchets and mentioned you in the video he put out

    I'm glad I got a good Matco, snap-on, Mac tools and Cornwell dealers all nice guys never had an issue. I do hate when I see techs abuse there tools and even hit there tool box with there tools when they get all frustrated 😲. Tools and the tool boxes are wayyy too much money to treat it like crap and not take care of it all. Usually the younger kids act that way.

    My mac and snap-on dealer are great, fully stocked trucks, willing to give me discounts for buying stuff outright. Our Matco guy doesn't have much on his truck so I'd never buy from him in the past. I ordered something small to see how it would be and a month and no tool. I'm glad I started small, because it obviously wasn't going to end with me being happy regardless.

    Fantastic philosophy for a tool guy. Unfortunately some places put so many restrictions on tool guys they are afraid to make decisions that help him or her sell and warranty products.

    Matco Michael has sold a few tools to this greasy service guy. I love my neck light! I have the luxury of overnighting warranty or consumables to my customers; and physically return the old ones when I'm near them next. Perhaps the tool trucks could do that? It's cheaper than you think.

    being good with warranty will sell tools. if i know my dealer will warranty any ratchet i break reasonably, i'm gonna buy every ratchet i need from him. he might sell me 10-15 ratchets and i warranty 1 every few years and its probably gonna be replacing the gear/pawl. apply the same idea to socket sets or wrenches.

  • @drwisdom1
    @drwisdom1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    When I hear Mr. Koon and the Matco rep talking about tool box trim colors it reminds me of women talking about expensive shoes. The worst color for ski jackets is white because it shows dirt and is hard to clean. So I figured white tool boxes are for white collar mechanics, the type that work indoors on non-dirty things like washing machines, not vehicle mechanics who work on dirty things in a dirty shop.

    • @KoonTrucking
      @KoonTrucking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you never wipe off your box because it is a dark color and just leave the grease on it?

    • @drwisdom1
      @drwisdom1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KoonTrucking Well, my KRL722 is in the basement where I get a little dust but never any grease. I am sorry to report that after 7 years it is still like new. I also restore vintage Snap-On tool boxes. After over 30 years of shop use they can be super greasy. But they clean up to be almost like new as long as they aren't rusty. Because of that I believe Snap-On red is the best tool box color so that everything matches.

    It may sound dumb but from my perspective, why don’t people ceramic coat the boxes so it’s stupid easy to wipe down and clean?

    I worked for a guy who always said there is profit in every job and sometimes the profit is not doing the job.

    Hello mr.klay I have been watching your videos for years now, and every time I have a question u r always kind enough to respond. I am in the market for an “affordable” torque wrench and the main 2 that have come up are Tekton and cdi. What are your thoughts on those and other wrenches? ($150ish range) thank u sir.

      Precision Instruments are good (especially the split beam style, that’s who made Snap On which is my favorite style even over digital) but the Gearwrench digital torque wrench is nice. Olsa Tools makes one that is nice. If you are in the market for a 1/2” KC Tool has a sale on the Gedore now and it is really nice I have it also.
