      Exactly my thought. Lots of newly build cars are awful, full of plastic and touch panels. They are horrible. But look at this beauty. You can get there new technology and what-not, but the basics (1990-2005 before it all went rogue) are awesome.

    • @SharadTalekar

      @@SharadTalekar Emission norms have nothing to do with style of the cars. Lets rebuild the engines, make them more reliable, if less consumption is viable - great. But do not make a boring, crap, SUV with zero ground clearance.

    Owned one for about 12 months, took me almost that long to replace the bushings which were all flogged out in the rear suspension. VERY hard to get spares, and very little in common with normal Pajeros. Was surprisingly good on fuel, better than the NS 2008 V6 which was my daily drive. Would love to have taken it offroad, but I was too scared in case I bent something!

    Owned a stripped down (manual window openers) 3l six cylinder 170HP(!?) 2 door pajero in Saudi. underpowered but had to stop for a fill up every 250kms. at 30cents/lt, the problem wasn't the cost but the frequency to stop at petrol stations. These have wishbone suspension in the front and back, that's why it's so good at holding the angle when you corner with it. The problem with this car is it's a cool, rare car, but it's not a "classic." Therefore there's not much of a community around it; you won't find a lot of people who can work on those "irreplaceable" body panels for you. I'd be scared to death of actually driving it

    The other vehicle that gives me that same unexplainable infusion on energy is the Renault R5 Turbo. Come to think of it, the R5T and PajEvo are similar in some respects... Both Homologation specials, both 2 door w/fiber fender flares, and both have similar wheelbases and "off-road" intentions.

      Pajero is, therefore a wanker.

    FYI on engine "3.5-liter V-6 produced 245 horsepower and 253 pound-feet (343 Nm), which brought the 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) time down to 9.5 seconds."
    Find the elephant decal interesting. Lancia Delta Integrale had an elephant decal. They used it as a signify that you can't stop it. Wonder about the story on this Evo(?)

    Ps edit not GDI

      The Evo doesn't have a GDI engine. They are mivec with port injection.

      @Crankycruiser thanks for that GDI reference deleted. Yeah bit early for DI for Mitsubishi

      A Pajero Evo is more like 0-100 in 8.0 and 0-400m in 16.0. I had one, very revvy 7000rpm top end with MIVEC kicking in at 5000rpm to give it a second wind…not super fast but hot hatch fast.

    OK, so I’ve bought some Wipertech wipers, and I don’t even need new ones yet. Now go and buy yourself a Pajero Evo.

  • @kingjulian1549
    @kingjulian1549 ปีที่แล้ว

    But what is it for? It's too rare to be used for what it's really designed for. Why not just buy a hot hatch if you want fun?

      I had one and it’s great off road. You just have to plan ahead, and pick 4x4 trails that aren’t super narrow or ultra rocky to keep the flares undamaged. And it’s absolutely supreme on sand dunes. It could also keep up with hot hatches and MX5s on winding roads with little problem. It’s really a big goofy hot hatch.

    Engine sounds broken even when new and looks awful. 1points (4WD work ok).
