I just ordered my very first vintage 1940’s clothing online to start my new lifestyle, it’s coming in this week. 😁 I want to thank you because you totally inspired me to live in my favorite era unapologetically.
Good for you for not being shy about living your dream. You inspire me, hope all goes well for you and you have a lot of fun. To me, even if someone only did it occasionally, it's like having a vacation back in time. Either way, what an adventure to experience, and to have to talk about later, how can you go wrong?
I am a senior caregiver. I work for a family who pretty much lives in a time capsule. I cook for them everyday. I recognize so much of your cookware, measuring spoons etc.! I love using them. 😊
I added a little more cimminion and put my apples food processor. They spread more evenly. I whipped the cream cheese with applesauce and cimmomion! DELICOUS-O. Till this day ur strawberry pie is a hit in the is house!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I always enjoy your cooking videos, it's great that you use vintage recipes and give honest feedback. I thought the pancakes looked delicious, something different. Stay safe ! X
I think sweetening the sour cream and adding some vanilla or more warm spices would really help. Almost like what you did with the pie. With honey or a maple vanilla glaze it would be amazing Edit- maple spelling
Haven't even finished watching and I love it. I care for antique people and love antique things so I love your channel. Cooking tip: measure the salt over a separate bowl in case salt spills out to fast and into your batter. Been there done that not good. Also measuring liquids are more accurate using measuring cups specifically for liquids. They are not the same amounts. Weird I know but true. P. S. Just finished watching, try switching to the other measuring cups, also depending on the variety of wheat and humidity of your kitchen liquid ingredients may need adjusting no matter what a recipe says. For sweeter try brown sugar on top.
These are a great fall recipe! I would be interested in trying it: and the cinnamon addition seems mandatory. Lol Yum! Pancake Tip: for fluffier pancakes don't press down after flipping. Baking powder creates bubbles in the batter to make it rise and pressing it down compresses the bubbles.
I'm in the process of suggesting to my roommate that I want a Sunbeam Mixmaster for Christmas to help me with my baking... hopefully he takes the hint, since he really is the benefactor when I do bake!
I love these vintage recipes, so fun! I feel like adding the powdered sugar or some maple syrup to the sour cream would give you the sweetness that’s missing.
Aww so sweet ! I talk to my cats while doing things around the house too ❤️ I tell them I love them all the time . My husband and daughter laugh at me 😂 that looks wonderful, I will try to make it vegan 🎉
I LOVE vintage recipes! I love that you have your own apple tree..... such a treat ! I was going to suggest grating/shredding the apples. I would also add brown sugar to the sour cream. I agree, that 3 cups of sour cream is way too much. Syrup on top sounds like a good idea too :) tfs 🎃🍃🎃🍂🎃🍁🎃🌵🌞🎃🍃🎃🍂🎃🍁🎃🌵🌞🎃🍃🎃🍂🎃🍁🎃🌵🌞🎃🍃🎃🍂🎃🍁🎃🌵🌞
Your mixer is the EXACT one my Gram had. I would like to find one just like it someday 😁. The pancakes looked good too. Will definitely be making them as my husband is a HUGE apple fan. I think the only change I would make is add apples to the sour cream and roll it up that way.
@Tina Burnham: I have that exact mixer at my cottage where my late father made the most delicious cakes, pies, cookies and sweet rolls. Every weekend was a heaven of banana walnut cake and raspberry pie...two different choices every week. When I turn it on I’m back in my dad’s kitchen! Thanks Laci❤️!
New subscriber here!! Watched several of your videos, and you are such a delight! Your male cat looks just like my Willz...lol!! I enjoy seeing all your babies!🤗
How fun. I have a copy of Betty Crocker's Good and Easy from the 50s, that my grandmother gave me. I've only tried the pancakes and it said use bisquick😂 so I did!
A friend of mine makes a scrumptious fruit dip out of sour cream, cream cheese, cinnamon, and sugar. I bet that would be lovely as the filling in these, and would give you the sweetness you want. And I think your idea of grating the apple is a good one. I certainly want to give these pancakes a try. Absolutely the right weather now for a comfort meal like this :)
You are so adorable! This recipe doesn’t look bad at all, apples + sour cream + pancakes = Yum! These look sooo yummy! I’ll probably adjust the recipe a bit & perhaps use apple butter in addition to the sour cream (I don’t think u needed to keep then warming in the oven that might have dried the pancakes a little. Great job! I can’t wait to try these 💖💖💖
Just a suggestion. I would have cut and peeled the apples and a thinner batter kind of like a crepe. Syrup would make them good too. My Mother had a mixer like that. The motor burned out but it lasted for years and years. I have the smaller bowl she had with hers. Love that stove too. I have all of her old recipes. Some go back to the 1940s. I will hand them down to my girls.
Aww, love hearing your sweet kitty Johnny Cash! Btw, I have the same exact mixer that I inherited from my Nana. You will love it so much! They definitely don’t make mixers like they used too. ✌️💕
An interesting recipe to be sure! Thanks for sharing. One thing I might recommend for getting a thinner batter if you ever make something like this again, well especially pancakes you want to roll up, is to mix the dry ingredients in by hand. With pancakes and crepes you typically want as little gluten formation as possible to occur, which happens when you mix flour with water. The longer and stronger you mix, the more gluten forms so the thicker/tougher the batter gets. So you typically want to just mix the dry stuff until it's just in, as little as you can get away with.
The pancake maker that you displayed would work well. Also let your batter bloom by holding off using for a hour to thicken a bubble. Apple sauce may be better. Thanks Laci
So sweet ❤️❤️❤️💓 i have to lots 🍎 and i was think what to cooking it something tasty 😋 send love to Johnny ❤️ thank you for lovely videos. When hit 100k make special video 💓💕😘
Tried this and it’s definitely a new favorite! Thank you for sharing!! I grated the apples instead of dicing them and made a sweet cream filling of 1-1/2 c heavy cream, 1/2 c sour cream, and 1/3 c powdered sugar. I then whipped it till fluffy. I wanted to make sure sour cream was still somewhere in the mix.
This one is interesting 😉 Maybe i try and put blueberries in if that would be good too . Looks good thanks laci and your kitty is so Sweet! 🐱 have great Week ☺ Sharon
How about blending the apples into apple sauce? It might make the pancakes easier to roll. Also, I would add a spoonful of sugar and vanilla to the sour cream so the filling is sweeter. Yummy!
These pancakes look yummy 😋. Instead of sour cream I would try honey pecan cream cheese. Then top with syrup and whipped cream if serving for a holiday breakfast 🥞.
Ooh, I thought the apple and sourcreams,,looked good,,you could dribble with syrup too,I'm going to try these,, loved your Dress and if course your little vintage kitchen,,,super fun as always 😀😻 bit
Mmm this just seems like such a fun Fall recipe, of which I am going to fry. I think, instead of powdered sugar or syrup, I am going to try warm apple butter, with them tough. Can't have too much apple. 🍎🍁🍏
I would love to live next door to you. Three cups of sour cream does sound like a lot. I would eat them with syrup too. Good call on adding cinnamon!! I bet apple butter would be good in place of sour cream as an alternative.
I wish you were my neighbor! But I live in Britain in the countryside 😊💙

To make it sweeter you could always combine cool whip with the sour cream
You get an A for effort- I so enjoy these vintage recipe videos. I would love to be your assistant chef .

Yes I was going to suggest the same thing
Aww @ Johnny Cash, and neat vintage Sunbeam
If you want apple recipes, try making an apple crisp! They're one of my favorite deserts
I'm in the process of suggesting to my roommate that I want a Sunbeam Mixmaster for Christmas to help me with my baking... hopefully he takes the hint, since he really is the benefactor when I do bake!
Those look good even just as a pancake with maple syrup like you said 😋🥞
I love when you do vintage recipes! You do a great job with your blogs.
We have so many apples. Now I know something else to make. Thanks.

I love these vintage recipes, so fun! I feel like adding the powdered sugar or some maple syrup to the sour cream would give you the sweetness that’s missing.
My grandmother taught me to make these! Couple of tips... grate the apples, and the batter needs to be lots thinner.
You are adorable. Thank you for making these videos!
The first pancake is always sacrificial! Lol
your really amazing. *even if people aren’t really used to the 1958 era*

When I make pancakes, I keep them in a warm oven. Haven't noticed them drying out at all.
@@lindabrown7374 if you keep them covered it shouldn’t 💖
Subscribed! You remind me of how my sister looked in the 1950's. How fun!
Love the vintage recipes!

This whole vlog was sooooo cute and a little sweet lol
Like your retro kitchen!
Such a cute video! And I'm not sure how I feel about how much sour cream, mayo and jellatin was used in the 50s, lol...thanks for sharing 😊
These look fun and delicious. I would add cream cheese with sour cream and cinnamon and sugar to the filling.
So sweet ❤️❤️❤️💓 i have to lots 🍎 and i was think what to cooking it something tasty 😋 send love to Johnny ❤️ thank you for lovely videos. When hit 100k make special video 💓💕😘

How about blending the apples into apple sauce? It might make the pancakes easier to roll. Also, I would add a spoonful of sugar and vanilla to the sour cream so the filling is sweeter. Yummy!
I would use cream cheese frosting instead of sour cream since I’m allergic. The treat looks delicious! 😋
They look tasty! I'll have to make those for my hubby. He loves pancakes!
Classic style 🥰
These pancakes look yummy 😋. Instead of sour cream I would try honey pecan cream cheese. Then top with syrup and whipped cream if serving for a holiday breakfast 🥞.
Looks great. FYI-Paring means to peel the fruit/vegetable. Some people can't tolerate the skins.
I need these Spoons !! 😍
Ooh, I thought the apple and sourcreams,,looked good,,you could dribble with syrup too,I'm going to try these,, loved your Dress and if course your little vintage kitchen,,,super fun as always 😀😻 bit
