10 - Swiper the fox…
If you’ve ever watched Dora, you know the poor fox has a bit of a bad name. However, if Swiper was as cute as these little Kit foxes - he would probably be Dora’s side kick and not Boots the monkey! It’s the smallest fox in America, and they’re easy to spot with their unusually large ears. They have beautiful bushy tails, and are able to run exceptionally fast. They are protected under the Utah Wildlife Code.
9 - Foxy Lady…
And nothing derogatory about that statement! This gorgeous gray fox lives in North America, and its very unique characteristic is that they can climb trees. According to wiki, they’ve been around for 3.6 million years, they’re solitary hunters and eat small rodents and lots of fruits.
8 - Fixit Fox…
Richard Scarry is another author, who loves the fox too! This beauty is the pale fox, and it’s thought the reason why so little is known about this fox, is that with its pale fur - it blends in so well with the desert that surrounds him. They’re found mainly in Sudan, have long whiskers and a long bushy tail.
7 - Crazy Like a Fox…
This is the Sechuran fox, you may also recognize it as the Peruvian desert fox or even Sechuran zorro. They’re found in the Sechura desert which is located in Ecuador and northwestern Peru. The males are called Reynards and the females Vixens. They are quite small, around 60cm in length and their tails around 25 cm. They eat small rodents, berries, beetles and fruit, and have sharp claws for digging for food, and making their dens.
6 - The fox in the snow…
A song sang by Belle and Sebastian, and now meet the real fox in the snow. The Arctic Fox is common in the Arctic Circle, and they have very thick coats to keep them warm in the snowy conditions, where temperatures can get as low as -70 degrees Celsius. They eat any small rodent they can find, as well as fish and the carcasses left behind by bigger animals.
5 - Stay Clever Little Fox…
These beautiful foxes are Darwin foxes, and they’re quite dark in colour with a pale belly. They can grow around 53cm’s with tails around 22cm’s, and they live in the forests of South America. They feed on small mammals, birds, insects and fruit and breed only once a year, producing 2-3 cubs a time.
4 - I am sometimes a fox…
And sometimes a Lion - Napoleon Bonaparte! Perhaps he would want to change that thought after seeing this unusual looking fox, also known as the cross fox. It’s a variant of the red fox, and they’re found in North America, however, some have been spotted in Scandinavia. Their furs were often exported in the 19th century, deemed more valuable than the pelt of a red fox, but not as valuable as the pelt of a silver fox.
3 - Heading to the Island…
This is the Santa Catalina Island fox, and they have a great combination of colouring on their fur, greys, browns, cinnamon, gold and white. There are 6 California Channel Islands where you find 6 sub species of this fox. It’s said its small size is a result of insular dwarfism, and has no immunity to any diseases brought on to the islands. They were classed as an endangered species in 2004, and sadly in 1998, a canine distemper killed around 90% of the fox population.
2 - Just for show…
The Exotic Arctic Marble Fox is not a naturally occurring fox in nature. This is due to human intervention and these foxes are born in captivity. It’s due to genetic mutations that they achieve these unusual colours. It’s been thought that the first Arctic Marble was born in a silver fox litter in 1945 over in Norway, and now they’re sold purely for profits.
1 - Zootopia…
The fox is once again one of the main protagonists - at least he changes for the better! This is the pampas fox, and is a medium sized “false fox” or zorro - found mainly in the South American pampas, which includes Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, parts of Brazil and Paraguay. They lead a solitary life, and eat pretty much anything - including snails and eggs. They can have up to 8 kits at a time, and their main threat is being hunted for their fur.

I do also feel she should have put silver fox in this video and take out the marble fox and made a separate video with all the red fox color variations that are not found naturally in the wild in a separate video. or just put the silver fox, and marble fox and cross fox and all the other red fox variations and a different video about the color variations about red foxes as there are many different types, but over all the count down was great

tf is with all the "I love foxes" comments? I love them to but, for gods sake say the actual name of the fox species. Last time I checked, there isn't a fox species named "Fox in Socks".

Maybe next time put the common or scientific name in the captions, not the made up ones. People learn many different ways, and to retain knowledge some people do better not by auditory but by words or a combination of both. For this video to be memorable knowledge should be as present as your fun labels. The hell is a "Fixit Fox"? I forget. Also will forget it's real name now. Will have to figure out other videos to learn them. Spreading the knowledge is great, but just adjust how you present it along with your fun for all the different minds out there. We have 2 foxes living under a building on our ranch. I saw one of them, for the first time, a couple of months ago. I don't know if it was full-grown or a kit, but it was a little bigger than the cat that, hesitantly ran by it, as it ran up and sat down to watch me open cat food cans. It also did not pay much attention to the cat, (which surprised me). l offered the fox a can of food, but he backed up a bit, and then continued on his way. (People working on the ranch on a later date saw 2 of them, and they saw them go under the building.) They are grey and orange. Two years ago, I took a fox off of the road, that had been hit and killed by a vehicle. At that time, I got to see the coat of the fox up close. It was beautiful. The gray parts were ticked on the end of the hairs with a light silver (or white) color. The ears were an orange color with gray around them. It was really beautiful, and I was so sorry that it had been killed. Before that time, I knew that we have coyotes and owls, (because I could hear them at night), raccoons and opposums, (because I had rescued and raised babies of both kinds), and skunks, (because I could smell them, I discovered that I was feeding a baby one with the feral kittens, and I trapped one, accidentally, once, etc.), but I had never seen a fox on our property, though I had seen them running on other properties south of ours. They are interesting and awesome to see up close.

Good video, cute pictures and well narrated. BUT... instead of writing silly "Fox in the Socks" and stuff... write the darned fox's NAME! I kinda wanna know the species' names. But it's hard to hear sometimes and harder to find again and/or remember it when it's not written.
Cross fox isn't counting as another species on the list - it's a red fox regular color x Silver red fox mix.
Same for Marble fox, it's too a color mutation.

I throw out all my scraps just so I can hear the foxes come in to eat them. I was so amazed the first time I heard a vixens scream. now I am hooked. they have a den at the back of my property. you can hear them for miles calling to each other. SOOO AMAZING. The Church of Doge Having a pet fox is a terrible idea. Besides the fact it's usually illegal, many people can't handle having a pet fox. They bite and scratch. Foxes chew up cords like headphones and charges and will ruin furniture. They're not trainable or domesticated. Foxes don't walk on a leash and don't always use a litter box, meaning it will poop where it wants, if it want. Buying a fox without knowing where it's coming from can fuel animal cruelty and will help breed illegal, foxes that are in terrible conditions.
Jade Miller Actually foxes are actually legal in a lot of states in America. And yes they're domesticated, You can walk them on a leash in fact you can almost walk any animal on a leash. I do agree that they are not a good idea to keep as pet but it's only if you had children, or in a small spaced house with no out spaced backyard. Foxes can use the litterbox, but the most important thing to know when having a fox is that you need a fox cage house for them to roam around in. So they can poop pee and do whatever a fox does. So yes you actually can keep a fox as a pet.

You shouldn't adopt one right after you moved. The best is to have a complete room for the fox with possibilities to climb, to have sand to dig etc.
Please consider well before owning one because it is a huge and time consuming responsibility. But you'll see that when watching his videos.
