What do you think? Has Hyper lived up to the Hype? The siege is definitely one of the weaker offerings, especially compared to the Rush-40 (review on that coming soon!).
So far, this is the only review that feels "100% Honest". It feels like all the other modding channels are either glossing over the faults of the blasters or down-playing them. This is, I think, the only review to even mention The Nexus Pro in relation to this line which feels weird b/c this is clearly Hasbro trying to go Hobby-Grade. I'll wait. the rush 40 has the feed problem when priming when the 2nd or 3rd wave of hyper guns come out we will see better guns just like when the Rivals came out. love the ammo and the idea of hoppers but these first 3 models have too many problems out of the box.
Even if it is, rivals had a good run and honestly there aren’t that many new things they can do with it. I would rather see rival end with a good reputation then have it turn into elite 2.0

My tale on Hyper: I'll "consider" it when there is aftermarket/3rd party Hyper ammo for ~$0.12 that performs just like the stock ammo, right now, the price per round is just not realistic for me. 3rd party companies out there, like HeadShot, Little Valentine, ect. take notice! Thanks for banging out these videos for us so quickly Luke, I know they aren't easy to produce, and I appreciate the effort that does into them! Your channel is really underrated, most people know of Luke or OutOfDarts and your shop, but maybe not your channel.
I think Walcom’s suggestion might be the best solution to the hopper issue: Use something akin to spring-loaded magazines like airsoft snipers do. Either that or move towards internal magazines. It just doesn’t seem like springers bode well with hoppers compared to flywheels.
Hyper slam fire = a shot every 4 pumps Not into hyper, I personally don’t see it’s place within the hobby, at what point are we just playing another hobby. all I see is hasbro pulling another ultra, creating a new ammo type for a quick cash grab. But still I hope things work out for hyper. Hasbro had abandoned us but I don’t wish them ill, just that they listen to the community. Even creating a new “pro” line, avoiding the nerf name of that what they care about. Anyways great video luke, the hyper pistol so far seems like the best option here
I think this blaster looks really cool but considering it is much larger, jams more, and holds only 10 more balls than the Rush 40, I think that that would be a better option. I'm also interested to see what sort of testing/ analysis you do on the Hyper ammo itself. Thank you! 💜
Yes it DEFINITELY jams more,and not the kind that you just have to take the ball out because the jam doors are absolutely useless,it’s the kind where you have to take apart the whole gun and then because they tried to fit so much stuff into such a small gun the thing explodes as soon as you take the cover off,I have given up on trying to fix this pos because NOTHING fits in the gun It’s just too much in a tiny gun.
It definitely helps having a parent's perspective on these (thank you for that). I already know I won't be able to use these with having a 14 month old in the house, and losing them all over outside makes them a kind of tough sell.
Got mine yesterday. The hopper has a slight forward-sloping ramp that is presumably there it help feeding, but it doesn't. They should have redesigned it. Worse, I don't the the hop-up tab is functional. If you drop a rival ball in the muzzle of a Rival blaster, Takedown, Knockout or Roundhouse for example, the ball sits on the hop-up. You have to push it past to get it into the barrel, so you know the ball is hitting that tab on the way out. Not so with the Siege, the ball goes straight past the hop-up both ways. I don't think the ball connects with the hop-up at all when you fire. There are ways to fix this, but they'll require opening the blaster up and tinkering, and some trial and error, either extending/replacing the vestigial hop-up, or adding a new one further back where the barrel is narrower.
You know, this Hyper line would be very interesting if it weren't for the jams and the misfiring and the fact that Dart Zone is swinging for the fences this year.
Luke, do you think a stock would help or hurt the Siege? Thanks for your reviews of the Hyper line. I think I will be sticking with my Khaos, Kronos, and Hades. I don't see anything that compels me to switch.
One interesting change could be to try using a foam ball - like the rival but downsized to fit the hyper feeding mechanism. Also, maybe try dusting the rubber balls in chalk? I think they're made of a material that can actually get tackier as it degrades, and direct sunlight/heat convection isn't good for the material at all. Btw, hate everything about the hyper so far. Deserves the same nuclear heat as the ultra line if you ask me.
Rear Grip Angle Dealbreaker that extremely sloped rear grip is going to be a problem for me. While it may be useful for hip firing, I prefer to raise my blasters to eye level; which isn't going to feel nice with a wrist at that angle....
@@outofdarts It looks like it would feel very comfortable, it is the only blaster in the hyper line that has a hop up unit, I like pump action, and it seems like it may have some mod potential. I know it has unreliable feeding, but I still think it is a good option. P.S. Please make a video where you open this up and maybe try and fix some of its flaws. EDIT: also it has a good fps, but still looks fairly easy to prime(sorry this reply is so long)
A blaster that doesn't blast when you want it to is basically unusable, no matter the fps or accuracy. I'm a Brit, so the L85a1 debacle is etched indelibly into my mind.

This is probably dumb as hells, but I'm starting to think lightly dusting those Hyper balls with a little flour would keep them from sticking. Mind, I'm not wild about the idea of flouring a blaster...
The 40 rounds shipping may be a cost thing but it might also be because if you actually put 50 rounds in the hopper, they all get stuck together and it won't really feed reliably. They just call it the "50" for marketing.
Kinda saw all I needed to when the blaster wouldn't even fire. Super disappointed in hyper so far, hopefully the lineup can be improved since we can actually mod these

I've got a different thought, after all videos I've seen on the new HYPER Blasters, I think Hasbro actually left the capacity claims for advertisement and shipped them with less than full capacity to help with the feeding issues that all HYPER Blasters seem to suffer from. Mr.OUT OF DARTS guy, thanks for this review, however I feel that you compared this blaster and series to a “long forgotten” theme. However, I think you should really look on the bright side of things because the dry-firing we see out of the gun CAN be easily avoided, and is really not TOO much of a problem, unless you are participating in a NERF event with tons of people. This would require non-stop firing, however I don’t think large-scale NERF events can be experienced in anymore than 40% of one’s life NERF gameplay. I honestly see strong potential in this series, especially for in the future. Take NERF ULTRA for example, when the ULTRA ONE came out, I didn’t have a second thought to immediately buy the gun considering it started a new potential-filled series. However, I was extremely disappointed in the gun, because I soon learned it jammed conveniently, dry fired, and it’s rate of fire/FPS was very poor. It represented the beginning of the series in a bad way. I considered never buying another ULTRA gun, at least not for a long time. I continued to see more and more ULTRA guns release, and the reviews came out good. I got my hands on a few, and came to really enjoy using the series. The performance of the ULTRA one was nothing compared to some of the future blasters in the ULTRA series. I feel a similar scenario could be happening in the new NERF HYPER series. The RUSH-40 was extremely impressive, I MEAN... 40 round PISTOL? The MACH-100 was cool, but the accuracy and rate of fire could honestly be crushed in comparison against the NERF RIVAL PERSES. But overall, I think the series has a lot waiting for it in the future, and already plenty to offer. -JAMO

This was the model I would have been most interested in. Such a shame that they didn't design a better feed.
Just wait for the spring mags (internal or external) to come out. That's what I'm doing. Imagine a mini hades the size of an artemis for example.

The rounds being inconsistent to feed is annoying, but a dusting of cornstarch would probably help the tackiness. Might make a mess though.
I was going to suggest baby powder or talcum powder
@@nelsonwong6364 talc causes cancer when inhaled (mesothelioma like asbestos) so probably not that lol. I'd stick to the cornstarch based stuff.
Try coating the rounds with cornstarch. It should "lubricate" them without waiting for them to get dirty

So Rival was the body of the dart and Hyper is the head.
In the future people are going to be coating their rounds with athletic chalk or just throwing them in a bucket of dirt when they first get them. Ha!

In Perth Western Australia, we've got very strict littering laws. Leaving these rounds behind outdoors can result in big fines.
Honestly nerf did so bad with ultra there was no way hyper could fail...

Nerf will release NERF HYPER PERFORMANCE POWDER 9.99 a packet enough for 100 rounds (literally cornstarch).
