Mario kart d's is probably to me the best Mario kart game ever made. It had everything. The best character roster. The best karts. And the best stages. But Mario party d's also was an absolutely amazing game in its own right. Local multiplayer and you only needed one cartridge to play with up to 4 other players. New super Mario bros is also a favorite of mine and despite only seeing the 2 squad captains play it I always had fun.
I can't agree with the "best character roster". Compared to it's predecessor, Double Dash, they removed Koopas, Toadette, Bowser Jr., babies, Diddy Kong and King Boo and only added Dry Bones and ROB. I'd say DS character roster isn't better than DD and later games.

I also liked the puzzle mode, which I have never seen elsewhere in the series

Mario 64 d's, Mario kart ds, and Mario party, d's and last but not least Mario and sonic winter games ds. I've had so many memories with these games and I remember playing with the squad on Saturday nights. I grew up with the gba and ds and whenever I hear of these games they bring back nostalgic memories to me. Mario and sonic winter ds is probably one of my favorite games of all time. I've also had memories playing sonic rush and sonic colors ds.
The DS Lite was damn near a perfect handheld console. Lightweight, smaller and better feeling buttons than the original DS, it just felt good playing it. I remember having the black DS lite with red combo. Ahh the good old days when I was 13 playing Pokémon diamond, advance wars, legend of Zelda the phantom hourglass, super Mario 64 ds, new super mario bros, Mario kart ds, animal crossing wild world...damn I miss those days
Yes, I'm so glad you picked MKDS as #1! One thing that you forgot to mention is that it is the most competitive Mario Kart, especially with the snaking mechanic. I have such good memories of playing this game against my siblings and friends in high school, trying to master the technique. SUCH good memories.
To be honest, I completely agree with Nicobbq and liking the older Pokemon games. I like their pixelated art style better. Pokemon Black is my favorite pokemon game.
This is an old comment but I’d like to input my opinion. I don’t like either the older games or newer games more. I like some of the older games and some of the newer games, I’ve liked a lot of the newer games more than the older ones I’ve played, though I haven’t played many. I love Pokémon Black more than any other Pokémon game, I love the region, the Pokémon, the music, how the sprites will move in the middle of battle to keep it interesting for you, and the trainer’s design. (Yes this matters to me lol) I absolutely love Pokémon Sun, it had its US release on my birthday, so it’s extremely special to me, and the region itself was just so beautiful and fun to explore. I loved collecting the totem stickers in Pokémon Ultra Sun as well, though it was a little less fun than Sun was overall. I’ve found that the older games Ive played have moved too slowly for me, and the older Pokémon designs are some of my least favorites, the older designs are just slightly changed real world animals. I got bored in Pokémon Y and Pokémon Diamond. You can count on some nostalgia from me here, since Black was my first game EVER, but none for the older regions since I wasn’t even born when the original games came out lol. Sorry for this paragraph of text lol, I just feel strongly about sharing the good things in the newer games (I believe Black counts as one of the newer games to a lot of people) since everyone seems to hate them

That's not the main issue,the issue is that BIS is better(for most people) compared to PiT and it triggers people including me. Not even an honorable mention hurts my soul.
Good shout on Partners in Time absolutely loved that game especially the 4 character mechanic. I would’ve also had Mario Hoops 3-on-3 and Final Fantasy 4 in my top 10 tho.
My favorite game on this system, and the only one I literally still play every year at times since, is age of empires age of kings. Hands down. Loved mario kart in particular, would rank that 2 but I absolutely played/play age of empires more.

I used to have this one Dsi that was limited edition it was red and had Mario power ups on the back of the top screen,it broke when I was 5 (In 2010) and now I see it on Ebay for 500 dollars or higher and it pisses me off,now I have the Dsi XL but its Blue I prefer Red so I regret dropping that system
I have that same red ds xl, I dunno about yours but mine says that is from the 25th anniversary of super mario, it worked perfectly fine from 2012 when I got it as a gift to last year, it doesn't turn on anymore but I think it can be fixed, i feel sorry yours had that fate, maybe you can someday find one at a good price, in my country there's an online shopping site that maybe ships to other countries, I've seen some of them from 1000 and up mexican pesos, roughly 50 dollars I think, the site is called Mercado Libre if you want to check it out :))
Having WIFI on the Nintendo DS back in the day was so fun. It did not always work but man sometimes having the most basic version of something is just to cool. My favorite DS WIFI experience is probably the Pokemon wifi plaza. Just knowing I was online with my little handheld at night was so cozy to me. These days you can buy smart toasters with WIFI enabled so it does nothing online feels quite as cool as it did back then.
3 of the Castlevania games are amazing but the 1st one dawn of sorrow was revolutionary at the time! Also advance wars dual strike was such a fun game. nsmb ds is my favourite because it was my first game I ever owned, it had original bosses and is an awesome classic.
The DS was my first console and Mario kart was my first game,so ya good memories...also mario 64 DS could be controlled with the touchscreen,which I did alot

There's apparently going to be a remake of Mario 64 coming out on the Switch this year. Anyone else hope that it carries over all of the new content from Mario 64 DS?

For a matter of fact, CTW is definitely not the only Nintendo GTA game, there are actually 2. One was actually released on the GBA. In some regions it was called Grand Theft Auto Advance and in other regions just Grand Theft Auto, named after the original!

Mario Kart DS was the first ever game I played. Spent most of my life playing this timeless classic. I agree with you, Nicobbq, putting Mario Kart DS at number 1. Good choice for a game that gives people so much nostalgia when they play it.

I remember getting a Nintendo DS, my first game was Cooking mama or Sonic rush. I also think Mario kart was a very good game on the DS. I loved that console so much, funny story I sold it to my friend when I got a 3ds and one day while I was at her house it DIED while I was there 😂

I was playing Mario Maker 2 and I was looking at some super worlds when I found Nicobbq’s!
I had a savefile in SM64DS that I made in 2018 and I had 135 or 136 stars on that savefile.But unfortunately,the savefile got automatically deleted in 2019
