From trucknet: tang is an irish driver generaly from the north. Will wear a check shirt jeans and polished brown dealer bootss and scania bomber jacket in the summer a scania t shirt can be worn. He will drive a v8 scania topline with six roof mounted spotlamps and four at the bottom. It will have the full frilly curtain and led scania griffin logo on the back wall. He will pull a fridge trailer which he will call a frigo. He will do northern ireland to mainland uk which he will call the bean five trips every two weeks and will do two laps of the parking lot when arriving and leaving using as many gear changes and blip the throttle between every gear change. They will spend the summer months with likeminded individuals at truckshows with there trucks which they will send half the night revving the nuts out of the engine and blasting the air horns.
Stavros, you now have me concerned about my Tang Status. I restore Fodens, in a shed that's like a fridge at this time of year. I wear brown steel toe cap dealer boots, a padded shirt and ex dealer Scania overall, surely I must be Gold standard Tang??
Hey stavros awesome videos and greetings from Northampton uk. There's two tangs I like and one is made by haribo and the other was a cool drink which I'm not sure if it is still about. Good to see your fleet and yard. Looks like you have quite a bit of space to move around easily. All the best.
My dad drove a man 7.5 tonner years ago when we were working at a parcel depot, i went with him, we had to take the parcels from a van that had crashed and finish the deliveries, the man truck was really slow, its engine was limited to very low revs, 1500 i think, it literally would not rev over that, it was the slowest vehicle i have ever been in, it did 45 mph max if i remember Most of the time that truck sat in the yard doing nothing, i think i only ever saw it move twice in 18 months, it was like the vw beetle in top gear, it was like the truck of shame that nobody wanted to drive, but had to if their mercedes sprinters ever broke down
U guys have just some awesome fleet having state of the art trucks , but here in my country we usually have old HINO rangers having usually 220 hp and not much comfort and some chinese brands trucks
Hi truckers :) I got interested in trucks recently and I am quite confused about Euro 5, Euro 6 and Low Emission Zones. I see that there are a lot of Euro 5 trucks in this fleet so my question is are those trucks allowed to enter Low Emission Zones or not? I believe I read an article about Euro 5 trucks not being allowed to enter and so on and so forth. Any clarification on this?
are there any american trucks in europe? they seem like there kinda light duty with 6 speed transmissions a basic transmission in a american truck is a 10 speed
Hello. I live in Canada. Wondering why the majority of your tractors are a single axle? What kind of weight can you have on your single axle drive. In canada we have mostly two axle drives and are allowed 34000lbs on them.
@@marcdavey thank you for the response. I am amazed on all the differences between the truck over here in Canada and the u.s. compared to the trucks over in Europe. I don't think I could do it. Your truck bunks are too small for me. I drive truck my bunk and this is just the size of the bunk but including the cab is a 72inche. I use to own a truck that had a 86inche bunk on it
Drive Axle weight limit in the UK is 11.5 Metric Tonnes. We pull Tri-axle trailers 99% of the time. This film is Ireland though..in the UK we have three axle tractor units, with a dead axle usually either in front or behind the drive axle. Total max weight is 44 Tonnes Gross.
Why in Europe most prime movers only have two axles whereas in Australia about 95% have three axles. Two axle trucks are only used to cart cardboard boxes etc. ???
And if you compare an Aussie tri to his you will see the tri-axle is moved forward a lot more than here in Australia.... IE the tri is carrying most of the load, benefits would be easier getting around corners , but more of trailer swinging wider when turning.
Why do you guys run 4x2 instead of the 6x4's with the tri-axle trailers? FYI for you non truckies... Driver dont care what the truck looks like on the outside other than mirrors lights and brakes... its all about the vision out of the cab and how good the drivers seat is compaired to a couch. Seeing how we spend so much time sitting in them. The channel is good buddy
the bluetec 6 is secretly my fave sounding Diesel, even more than the v8's from the 4 series days, they just sound so beefy especially in there Citaro buses....yes i said bus, dont shoot me please
Glad to still see the 164L in the fleet Stavros! Great tour too! 😎👍👏🚛

Vehicle and axle load limits. The additional legal payload capacity with a 6x4 or 6x2 isn't normally worth the squeeze.
