Love this Volvo F10, but love the owner of it (our Dad) even more! Worked hard, as a trucker, all his life to give us every opportunity possible. Feeling very proud of and grateful for both truck and father. ❤ xx
my father had a volvo f12 385 hp bought brand new since 1984 (the circle headlights) and sold in 2009. still works. the new owner works it with a tipper truck trailer for his farm. sometimes i see it on the roads and cry my eyes out. so many memories! the brakes were fenomenal and they are not disc brakes. the air dryer was below the passenger side. that mirror over there you mentioned is definitely from a newer model. no F series had such nice mirrors. the gearbox is indeed tight. even so many years and you would not make a mistake.
Spent Saturdays in a Volvo f12 as a helper up and down to cork delivering bread in to Blackpool....what a truck....but it was an 86 model with the round headlights...what memories
I spent many happy years in the passenger seat of my neighbour’s F6 hauling cattle around Ireland , great memories , I remember F10’s in the mart in Maynooth. I always thought they looked better then 112’s , the innocence of youth. Thanks for the video.
For me, as a kid with dad, it was a 3300 and a 3600 ATI . he had a 142 M 410 I Think the Scania was his secret best truck. but i loved the DAF as a kid Boy how that changed Love the FMX Stavros.
My father drove these and F16's hauling containers, i remember when he let me steer this "monster" on his lap when i was 8 years old in Sompasaari Harbor, that was very nice moment for a little boy like me :D
I remember going to work with my dad driving one of these when he was a low loader driver for a road tarmac company. I used to absolutely love sitting up high in the Volvo as a little kid, brings back so many memories😁👍
A good education lesson for the younger generation that's driving the up to date modern trucks...back in the day trucks were trucks and men were men not many of the old generation left rip to the ones that are gone....well done on your channel and keep her lit...
Those revs can give you goosebumps and its a pity that the 21st century "L" badged trucks would never sound that 😐 cheers to whoever is protecting those retros 😊 oh and omg I never knew Rory Lynch was Stavros's father until i watched this video! Cheers to that too 😊👍
What a fantastic vlog, just loved it. Took me back to when I first started driving for a living, I had a fringe back then!!!!! Ironic that I started my career driving an F10 and finished driving an FH 12 Glogbtrotter, I can't think of a make of truck that I didn't drive at some point. Please don't ever stop making your vlogs, there just fantastic.
Thanks for another great video Stavros! Good to see you as remember your childhood. When I was young I saw many Volvo F12 and F16 Globetrotter on the roads.
my father drove one for many years between belgium and italy,or spain, later he got a new F12 ,i spend many hours in them☺️i feel back 12 years old when watching this video, congrats to the dedicated people who keeps em rolling ☺️👍👍👍
I don't recall driving a F10 from that era, but remember a F12 6x4, a beast in it's day. With a stepped trailer delivering gas pipe in Devon & Cornwall.
Hi there stavros I have been a driver for over 40 years and in 1979 I worked for a company called a one transport from leeds and they had a Hugh fleet of Volvo s f10 f88 f86 then f7 I got to drive the f10 and it was the truck I loved it but all the time I worked for them I had little f86 then f7 no night heater them days my fist truck with a heater in was 1995 volvo FH I loved it .
Great video Stavros - I love these old Volvos F10 and F12's - especially the Mk2 ones. My first job was working in a truck paintshop which sprayed a lot of Volvo F10 and F12. Brought back a lot of fond memories -Thank you - Plus Its the only truck I know that you had to have the wipers on to put the tachograph chart in - only on RHD models though.
Takes me back! I started as an apprentice spray painter back in 88 at a Volvo dealership, i used to strip them down for painting then refit after followed by pre delivery valet, leaving the polythane on seats & headlining tho! Painted loads of them over the yrs.....wish i had foresight to buy one now! Great vid thanks for posting!👍
Me and my siblings use to go with our dad when he worked for p&o fleetwood lancs and take us up/down the county in a volvo FL10 /or scania/Man trucks. they were better quality trucks back then now they are all equipped with fancy technology cheap parts.
BRILLIANT, I was only a passenger In one of them wen my father had one, very simple but it done the job, and you knew you had been driving that alday compared to the automatics nowadays. Brill vid, brought back some good memories thanks....
That's a very nice F10. Great to see trucks like this restored, well done Paddy. I think when you mentioned €80,000, Paddy may have reconsidered selling it. They were a fine cab back in the day. It might be a bit of a headache trying to pick up a heavily laden trailer, that was dropped too high or low. Thanks Stavros, keep them coming.
Back in 1988 hrs. bumping docs for UPS with these trucks! What an excellent video bringing me back in time! Thank you as it brought back memories for me as well. I never forgot how awesome those gearboxes were for a truck. Those trucks were like a little hot rods. I was not searching for Volvo videos, and I’m also driving a Volvo VNL 604760 Right now in 2020! What a coincidence, and thank you so much for the video
Your father is Rory Lynch? Wow , i thought you just worked for them as a driver. I have noticed them around North Dublin since i started watching your videos. Great video as always hope your good stavros.

Love this Volvo F10, but love the owner of it (our Dad) even more! Worked hard, as a trucker, all his life to give us every opportunity possible. Feeling very proud of and grateful for both truck and father. ❤ xx

Its in FanTASTIC condition for being 33 years of age (at the time of making this comment)! glad it unlocked memories for you Stavros!
What a spaceship compared to anything else in '77. And the the SR470 transmission is the probability the best of its time. We have it in our '86 f12
A good education lesson for the younger generation that's driving the up to date modern trucks...back in the day trucks were trucks and men were men not many of the old generation left rip to the ones that are gone....well done on your channel and keep her lit...
