    Curved shears (6.5in) instead of the straight ones for top of the paws were much more user friendly than straight. Straight shears are difficult for beginners and if the pup is really wiggly- you’re asking to be overwhelmed. I will definitely take your advice on using shears instead of clippers on the pads! I noticed pups licking their paws more when the hair is clipped, thank you for that.

    I've always found it easy to have my Goldens lie on there back while I trim their feet. They relax and nearly fall asleep while I trim. May need to do some final cleanup with them standing afterwards.

      Absolutely! I will do little snippets of grooming at a time. Don’t forget the webinars for only $30 available on thegroomingland.com. Once you buy them they are yours to go back to and review whenever you want.

    Never too old to keep learning - feathering around foot with thinning shears - who knew I've been holding them incorrectly. Will be fixing that immediately! Thanks Amy. Now how about hocks (front and back).

    Do you have a link to the specific pair of extra fine point 5.5 inch scissors you use? I went to the site and saw sheers, but I didn't see those. Thank you for the tutorial! :)

    Why do you want the nails showing? Thanks for the information.

    • @AmySuzanneComer
      @AmySuzanneComer  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just a slight amount of nails showcases the dog being up on their feet.

    How do you trim a front foot that slightly turns out so it looks correct? When hand stacking I can fix it but when free stacking he turns it out a bit

    • @AmySuzanneComer
      @AmySuzanneComer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Trim the outside edges tighter and let the inside edges grow longer.

      @@AmySuzanneComer thanks. I am trying to find the right 4420 thinning shears. Can you please send me a link that will take me directly to the specific scissors? The link to someone's site didn't take me to the actual scissors and it was very confusing. I'm a beginner in grooming my very difficult golden retriever. Thanks.
