Twilight Hero is by far my favorite character design wise. I LOVED the feel and design of that game and it hit perfectly in my emo phase. The dark haired Zelda, Midna (both forms) Wolf Link….. even the love story of Yeto and Yeta up in Snowpeak Ruins… just what a blend of perfection on every level. The character of Link in every iteration is left like such a blank slate so that the player can so easily project themselves into the character and make it much more immersive. I know a lot of people complain that Link is too quiet or boring but I love that it gives us the space to make up our own emotions for him.

@@goldenboy82 Damn, that's a nice detail then. Honestly, I always found his story somewhat unfinished and a bit tragic. Like, the guy saves Hyrule, then he gets teleported to two other kingdoms that he has to save. Then, on his way home, he gets trapped in a dream, and the last we really see of him is just him hanging out on a shipwreck in the ocean. Good to know he gets a happy ending, then.
Hero of time has always been my favorite, and for a number of reasons. First, we see him in so many different stages of life- as a child, as an adult, as a ghost. OOT and MM give you the chance to build a connection to this little kid, and you get to watch him become an adult through certain parts of the game, only for TP to hit you with the fact that he eventually died and is now a spirit. Even still, you get the chance to help his spirit move forward, which to me was super emotional because he’s still that same kid from OOT and MM, and now you get to help him move on into the afterlife. Second, he is literally the reason we have the different timelines, and subsequently, the games that take place in them. If he hadn’t gone back-and-forth in time during OOT, there wouldn’t have been a split in time (Defeated Timeline, Child Timeline, Adult Timeline, etc.). For as little as we (as fans) focus on the Hero of Time, he’s a pretty major figure in Hyrule’s history. However, he is also the forgotten hero, which explains why him and his eras aren’t referenced or mentioned in any other games. RIP to the Hero of Time. He deserved the whole world.
