Nintendo should eventually port all Zelda games to the Switch, they could just divide the screen in half for the DS and 3DS ones. Who knows if that will actually happen though.
They will not port all zelda games on the switch... it's sad but it's most likely not gonna happen. As much as I wish that was true.

If we're talking about softmods, the Wii U by far. If we're talking officially, then the GameCube with a GBA Adapter. Portable wise, the 3DS has access to most 2D games.

And if you homebrew the 3ds, you have access to Zelda 1 & 2, A Link to the Past, Link’s Awakening DX, The Oracle Games, The Minish Cap, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, either version of Four Swords, and even the freaking Zelda picross.

@@jokingbanana1042 actually phantom hourglass isn’t playable that way if you mod it, if you get to a certain point in the beginning the game will recognize it’s not longer in cartridge form and stop Link on the train tracks after hitting an animal. Forever. But it’s on the homescreen and was a virtually unplayable game to begin with lmao

@@bummerdrummer1902 I really lucked out too because way back when I bought a 3ds it was used, so it wasn't even my ambassador pass really. I was able to tie it to my Nintendo network ID and transfer it when I upgraded to the New 3ds. I know Nintendo was disappointed in GBA emulation on the 3ds, but I really wish they would make it readily available to everyone.

Just a clarification: The virtual console WON'T Shut down, all games you have are yours (unlike the Wii U), what is shutting down is the Wii Shop Channel.

The Wii Shop Channel was a "service", services cost money just to maintain that's why most of them are temporal services, every online store will close someday that's just a consequence of the system we use in videogames.
My original comment was meant to clarify that the games you had already on your console wouldn't be removed.

@@skilletcaso I meant that since the Wii U (every actual Console and even Steam too). The games you buy aren't really yours, they are more like if you are renting a licence to play these games, that means that for whatever reason companies may "revoke" that licence and remove the game from your library.
Usually when a company loses their rights to sell a game they just remove these games from online stores (and you keep the game as long as you bought it before that), but there have been cases when games get removed from accounts (named Steam or PS network).
@@skilletcaso Maybe the Wii U was a bad example cuz Nintendo usually doesn't do this (other than the Nintendo Online Service). And even when they close their services like in the Wii, they let you keep the games.
But still if we read their terms of use we can clearly see how this practice it's on the Wii U (Maybe only as a legal assurance).
It's worth noting that these practices don't affect physical games.
Wii U is the Ultimate Nintendo Console despite not being a commercial success. It has an amazing retrocompatibility, especially if you hack it.

Wow, I was actually thinking about this yesterday! In the exactly same way (because of the Game Cube, and all)!
I don't know if you remember the 3DS Ambassador Program, that one gave you access to 10 GBA games on the 3DS as well, among them was Minish Cap. So if you count Minish Cap and 4 Swords AE, the total is 14 Zelda titles.
But you can't play 4 swords adventure on it due to the lack of the link cable. So 13.

I’ve been turning my new 3DS XL into a Zelda machine. Right now I have Ages, Seasons, Links Awakening DX, & Ocarina 3D on there. I also have physical versions of Ocarina & Majora, Spirit Tracks, Phantom Hourglass (although I think it’s lost), Triforce Heroes & A Link Between World’s. I’m thinking of double dipping on those & getting digital editions just for convenience, & then eventually I’ll pick up the original 3 games
Four Swords anniversary was my first Zelda, and to this day is the only one I've completed multiple times
I know spin-off or cameos don't count but I pick the Game Cube because Link is in Soul Calibur II.
Ooo this is an interesting topic. Be interesting to see one for disgaea and some other niche games. Well, for disgaea the best system would be the vita shocking enough. Has the best versions of each game and are on a portable console which makes playing them even better. Let’s just say for physical owners, I say the fat ps3. Since the ps3 can play ps2 games, you have access to all the games physically from disgaea 1 though 4. Ps4 only has disgaea 1 complete and 5 sadly. Hope nisa makes a collection of the games for all consoles someday. Be nice to play disgaea 2,4, and D2 on my switch.

I had the Four sword aniverssary on my DSI XL but I lost my DS console sadly along with the game. I really loved it was my first zelda Game
You could also count The Minish Cap if you got an Ambassador 3DS. That brings the New 3DS total up to 16- theorically.
Last year, I played all 17 Legend of Zelda games with just a Wii, Wii U and 3DS. You should do a video on what console plays the most Kirby games. This year, I played all the Kirby games, and I need more than 3 systems do that.
Don’t forget about ocarina of time master quest on the GameCube which is on its own disc.
The 3Ds for me is one of the best to play Zelda Games, from the Ds Games, to the N64, to A link Between Worlds, to virtual console like Zelda 1, Links Awakening, and 4 Swords Anniversary Edition, and that's just the regular 3Ds, the later New Nintendo 3ds added A link to the Past.
As for the Switch in 2021 has improved its lineup of Zelda Games with Breath of The Wild, A link to the Past, Skward Sword, Links Aweakning, and Zelda 2. The best part being that if you have Switch Online you get 3 games "for free". I hope they keep bringing more games to the system in the future linke Wind Waker HD.

Actually Ds can play original gameboy and gameboy color zeldas by using gba flashcard(with which i currently play them on my ds with no problem). Moreover, some sites offer gb and gbc games reproduction in gba shells amd of course fully compatible with gba.
Though both methods are not quite licensed of course

The resolution looks odd the game as its higher resolution but they didnt update the textures so things look smeared but luckly with the homebrew software Swiss you force the game to run at 240p which was the games original resolution and played on a CRT It looks great :)

I think Four Swords Anniversary Edition got removed from the 3DS eshop because it was possible to gain access to the homebrew browser with it.
Wii u can play Gameboy, nes, snes, gba, wii and wii Us hd remakes plus botw. Easily wii u. Plus you can mod it.

I think GC have 13 and new 3ds have 14 Games. 'Cause you don't count Minish cap (Embassador edition) and 4 swords anniversary edition (Eshop download or transfered data of dsi). So with lucky you have 14 games on new 3ds. New 3ds its the best option.
For some reason, I just found it funny that the question was basically which console played more Zelda games than the GameCube, and in the end, the answer was still the GameCube.
For me Gamecube and 3DS are tied as I downloaded Four Swords Anniversary back in 2011 so both consoles can play 13 games each :D

You missed the fact that Minoan Cap and Four Swords Anniversary Edition are also playable on 3DS (Ambassador Program and digital Eshop limited availability). So you should’ve said 3DS plays the most Zelda games at 14, then GameCube at 13

I wanna say in defense of the Gamecube option that you can buy controllers or adapters for when you wanna play games that use the d-pad as the main movement option. I personally bought myself an adapter that lets me use my original SNES controller on the Gamecube just so I can play my GBA games a lot easier/more comfortably. I'll admit it was a little pricey but still so worth it to play my GBA games (especially the Zelda games) on my big screen TV!
Also, its never gonna happen but, I was hoping they would've made a DS player for the Wii U similar to the Gamecube's GBA player! Being able to play my physical DS games on the TV with the game pad acting as the bottom screen could've worked really well! I'd buy the crap out such a device if it existed!

Honestly, 4 Swords and The MInish Cap are the only games I don't have on my 3DS. It burns me that I can't just buy them. I'm hoping that Nintendo releases The Wind Waker, Four Sword Adventures, Twilight Princess, and Skyward Sword on the Switch. If they do that than I can legitimately (no offense to the pirates) own all these Zelda games on 2 modern (modernish on the 3DS side of things) systems.

Nintendo Switch can play : (Zelda 1), (Zelda 2), (a link to the past), (link's awakening HD) and (breath of the wild) :)
Link's Awakening HD sounds like a remastered, but it is a remake..so Link's Awakening Remake or Link's Awakening Switch
I have not even started the video so I'm going to make a guess right here and I want to say the GameCube can play the most Zelda games. Sure it can't play breath of the wild or Skyward Sword or the DS games but it can play all the console games up till Twilight Princess and all of the gb handheld games as well as having the zelda collection as well, you can play master quest, four swords adventure, and even the GBA Classics edition of the Zelda games. It makes sense so let's see.

Wii U was awesome. Personally I liked it much more than the Wii. If I could get GameCube component cables (allows progressive scan, looks better than playing GameCube games on Wii with Wii component cables. But very pricy) I would never use the Wii ever again . With Wii U backwards compatibility I can play all the Wii games on that.

Yeah, we can play every Zelda games on PC, some with 4K graphics too. I would still play nds and 3ds games on their own systems though, touch screen control don’t really work well on pc and I love 3D too much to give it up.

A modded Wii plays the original, Zelda 2, Zelda Oracle of ages/seasons, the minish cap, links Awakening,ALTTP, windwaker, twilight princess, OOT,Majora's mask, BSzelda,4swords/4swords adventure, and skyward sword😂 at least that's what's on my modded Wii.
I love how Nintendo makes some systems far superior to others. Like the GBA could play GB and GBC games on top of its GBA library. The 3DS could play DS and 3 DS games. I for some reason find this fascinating. Like if you only want the necessities you can buy a GBA and not bother with a GB or a GBC. And same with the 3DS.

I think the best recommended console is the Wii U. Simply because it can play Skyward Sword and BoTW.

Well you you can't get any of the digital downloads anymore. So your better to get a GameCube and a 3DS.
If you count four swords gba as a game, you might also want to count OoT Master Quest on Gamecube.
Four Swords GBA is a separate game. It's actually a mainline title.
If you mod a 3ds you can play the GBA games as well.

I guess it's because they are similar words. But yes, I agree, I should have said remasters instead.
Well technically Windwaker HD was a remake due to the smoother textures that the game had. But Twilight Princess was just a HD remaster.
