Cool guy. He doesn't try to bullshit or philosophize or really justify her stature or notoriety; at the same time he doesn't put her down or demean her background, like he thought it would be funny or ironic to have a porn star in his film. He's just honest and matter of fact about why he cast her. Good for him.
David Cronenberg!!! Ah I love that man and his brilliant mind. This was super cool to see him when he was young and as we can see, highly intelligent even then. What a director! Rabid is good but his first great was The Brood.. One of my all time faves!
"You see, to her, my films are legit. It's all relative". Hahaha you tell that stuffy suit David. Honestly I love Croneberg for his answers, you can tell that the opening question from the interviewer annoys him. "You call that sex?"
Sex in rabid? Which version did the host see? I'd love to know.
He was probably talking about Shivers, but mistook it for Rabid. Though it also hinted at sex. It never displayed it. More like off screen rapes.
wow look how young he is. just getting started - so much more great work to come from this amazing artist.
need him
PLSSSSS ME TOO ME TOO
Pls he’s so darn cute!
I haven't seen Rabid in a while. There was a metaphor for STDs throught the film and the ending is quite downbeat, more than the ending of The Fly. Cronenberg is usually associated with horror but he never did supernatural horror, it had a bit of sci-fi and medical factoids.
I saw him at FanExpo 2010 and he seemed easygoing.
Andy Samberg could play him in a movie
Wow. I'm a big fan of the wonderful Mr Cronenberg, but never saw this interview anywhere. If you've got more, please upload! ;)
I saw RABID in the theatres at 8 yrs old. And was scared shitless! It still is ONE of my all time fav.HORROR films. I saw SHIVERS at 6 yrs old. All in NORTH AMERICA San Jose Calif. 1975-1977 David was the first to SCARE me so bad for before him it was all DRACULA-THE MONSTER-WOLFMAN and MUMMY
Nice to see the "old" Cronenberg style, almost gender-bending in his choice of clothes. Compare this to the colossus of Canadian cool now walking the red carpets of the world - wearing black, contact lenses and spiky white hair!
Great 70's movie and captures the Sleazy days of Montreal 😜👍🏻
David Cronenberg is the best film director
very good
Rabid.....lo peor de Cronenberg.
No.
