I got mine 2 days ago and I didn't realize it had a light inside until I was showing the set to my daughter today. It was a little startling, but so cool. I'm so happy with this set!
I pre-order this collection as soon as I heard about it. The box was a little roughed upon arrival, with the light in in the trap working sometimes. Which isn't a deal breaker. For $109 US dollars, this is the perfect collection for any Ghostbusters fan! And my copy of Afterlife had a sleeve 🙂
@@TheEman590 - I already own the first 2 Ghostbusters films on blu-ray, but this box set includes the Special Features discs that include the Producer's Cut of the original movie, as well as about 20 minute of deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II. These discs are only available with the box set which, aside from also not owning Afterlife, is why I bought it.
I sent mine back. Whilst I was utterly gobsmacked that it didn't have any lights, HMV didn't mention or show those.....but they did show a picture of the slip cases that we didn't get either, so they had to agree to take it back,. £150 for this was steep already, but then they borked all the fun out of it too. I just bought the standard 4K version now.

I’m very disappointed with the lack of lights and sleeves, not bothered about the digital codes as I own them all digitally already. But I love the films! All 3! They look so great and the special features are awesome! I spent the afternoon watching an old Oprah show with the cast on! Was great! Still vastly overpriced though
@@KabegasReviews the collection had good ideas behind it, I think corporate greed just ruined it. I think if it was exclusive cases done in the same style as the Special Features case with the slip cover designs, the box was plastic and it had the lights it would be more worth it
Got my Italian edition today. There are differences with yours: 1. No slipcases (a shame) 2. No lights in the box (that's bad) 3. No digital download codes (that's inconsequential to me), but that means no Feigbusters in my set in any shape or form and that, for me, is a big fat win.
I received my set today and it is beautiful. I ordered it from Walmart when they first announced it for $88 (USD) and the honored that price even though it went up everywhere else. The set does come with a slipcover for Afterlife that has the logo on the front and the Mini Stay-Puft on the back. I am going to watch the special features this weekend. I wanted to today but work prevents that. Thanks for the videos! Love your channel.
Got mine today as well. It was $150 at the time of pre-order but the price dropped down to $108 and that's what was charged thanks to Amazon and their pricing policy at the time of order. I had been watching the price off and on and when it went to $108 I was going to order another one but Amazon was done.
I had preordered mine and received it a couple days ago too. As others have said the box was kind of beat up but Amazon had no "return for another one" option and the price had increased so nothing a little black tape can't fix. And I do absolutely love it! I'm in Maine and mine had a slip cover for Afterlife as well.
I'll turn my lights on, right after Sony pictures uk install them. 😜 I'm not bothered about the slip covers. We got full size blu ray cases, where as it looks like yours are thinner. It's a personal choice but I'm not a fan on the slimmer cases.
I received my copy over the weekend and I love it… however, being in the UK, we really have been shafted on this. Firstly, as you mentioned, there is loads of stuff missing from the North American version (no lights, no slip covers and no digital downloads). On top of this, we had to pay £150 (GBP)… you paid $129 CAD which comes in at about £75, meaning in the UK, we have to pay twice the price for half the content/features. This really does leave a sour taste in the mouth…
Yeah it's shit but I think the main selling point of this is the new extras that haven't been on any previous releases plus a preview only unseen cut of the first film with additional and extended scenes
I returned mine, £149.99 was too expensive for me considering the trap did not light up in the UK and the digital codes & slipcases are missing. Very disappointing. The trap should have been better quality and made of plastic instead of cardboard which will get tatty over time.
actually the german version does neither got the light inside the package, nor does it have the slide covers for either GB1 nor GB2 nor Afterlife and we did not got the code for answer the call (no big loss)! Still a great set and absolutely worth the 85€ =)
I am from Canada and just opened mine from Amazon and Afterlife has a slip cover. So maybe certain sets are messed up? Hopefully Sony will address that for those who are missing the slip cover
Same! I heard of someone else in Canada getting 2 UHD GB2s and no UHD GB1 and also no slip on the Afterlife disc. I'm glad my set had all the right discs and all the slips
Did Amazon send that to you in a bag? I got mine and the D**k heads sent it in a bag. Luckily mine did get damaged but it shocked me they were so careless about packaging.

To any Canadian who is experiencing the same problem, PLEASE escalate the issue to Sony Pictures Releasing to hopefully get compensation / a replacement slip. Call their customer service team -- let the phone ring and don't select any numbers, that way you'll be transferred to a customer service representative immediately. Hope this helps everyone!

There seems to be several issues with the box set. I have the uk version and although it's a wonderful set,I was slightly disappointed there were no lights or slipcovers especially given the price,its still a thing of beauty though. I've also seen several people missing the Afterlife slipcover and now several people who have the wrong discs. I'm holding out hope that Sony corrects all these issues for customers.
I’m gutted about the UK version. With it lacking content and features and costing more than the US/Canadian release I just couldn’t pull the trigger. If they drop the price then I might bite but still… don’t understand why it has less.
@@retrojb101 If it was about £80 it would be worth it. It's an awesome boxset but £150 is just too much given we are missing a few things. The bonus features are fantastic I must say and all 3 films look incredible in 4k.I think the uk ones will come down in price as there still seems to be several available.
Th US box did have a slip cover for Afterlife. My set didn't have any of the sticky goo. The box set lightning slip cover just slid off after taking off the shrink wrap. My Ghostbusters II copy had an error where I have the Blu-Ray of GB 1 and GB 2 in the case instead of the GB 2 4K disk. I also noticed that the image on the GB 2 logo on the blu-ray disc itself seems kind of blurry. The GB logo on the original Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Ray are slightly different. The Blu-Ray uses a thicker outline vs. the 4K. It's a little weird. Mostly the set is awesome. I just wonder who we should contact about the missing/swapped discs.
My US copy has a sleeve for afterlife. Also the light uses a light sensor at the front of the box not the lever. If you open it up with the movies removed the light comes on. This set is awesome. Hopefully they make more so everyone that wants one can get it. I got mine pre ordered for $99 us.

Apparently Sony is now saying this is a 'limited edition' boxset and has no plans to make or release anymore. This has upset a ton of fans. So if you didn't get your pre-order in, probably out of luck. Sold out everywhere and is already showing up on EBay at triple the cost. I was able to snag mine from Best Buy Canada back in early January for $99.99. Whew! I would call Sony and complain or at least petition them to release content in different type of package down the road.
Neat box! But the flimsy cardboard inside is already damaged by the heavy stuff inside moving around during transport. Can one remove or change the batteries for that light up feature? Otherwise batteries might leak one day and ruin the box...
I ordered mine through Walmart real late and snagged it for $100. I haven't watched any if them yet as now I'm waiting for a 4k bluray player to show up. I've seen in some of the fb groups that there's been some flubs with people getting the wrong disk in some of the individual movies such as 2 Blu rays and no 4k. Or an extra disk of the first movie in the 2nd movie and missing its counterpart or vise versa. Luckily my didn't have any issues and I'm about half way through the book which is amazing that they included it.
Soon as I got the notification that its out, I immediately ordered it on demand. For two days it cost $5.99 been watching it repeatedly. Its a amazing movie.
@@donbrewer3904 Yes, internationally it is backwards intentionally. Theoretically, the circle with crossbar is meant to be the combination of the letters N and O into one symbol, so the design of the logo is actually backwards, and so it was "fixed" by someone over there.
Head's up everyone, as soon as you get yours, CHECK ALL THE DISCS. It's apparently a fairly common issue to get the wrong discs in these sets. For example, mine came with 2 copies of GB2 on 4k and no GB1 4k disc... Thankfully I found a guy in a Facebook group who had the exact opposite issue (2 copies of GB1 4k) and we arranged a disc swap through the mail. So check that you have all the correct discs! Seems to be a distribution issue and so far, I've seen 3 other posts in that group about the same issue.
Do you know if the copy of ATC is the Extended Cut or the theatrical? I have the extended cut digitally, as that seems to be the only one available, but I personally prefer the theatrical cut, and would love to have it digitally.
In the US, I redeemed via MA and it gave me both versions in 4K. When it ported to VUDU it only gave me HD on the Extended Cut because apparently they don't offer 4K for that version.
Just ordered my copy of the 4K boxed set yesterday. Fingers crossed that I do not end up with any missing discs. Cannot wait to see all of the new content for both Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, and have a second copy of the book Making Ghostbusters.
I'm in Ontario as well, mine came from best buy. Didn't open it up yet as I had lots on my plate last night...I will be pretty mad if they short packed me a slip cover. I paid for the ultimate set to keep everything uniform...my OCD will be out of control if I'm missing any slip covers.

This collector's box set was sold out from Best Buy almost immediately the day the box was released!! Also, on some sites, the preorders were sold out a few weeks before the actual box was released. Anyway, I just ordered one on Ebay. Mine is also the Canadian version. From what Ebay told me about shipping, I won't get my copy until sometimes next month. Oh well...I don't mind waiting. The wait is definitely going to be worth it!!
I got mine yesterday. I can't wait to watch the work print of Ghostbusters 1 and see all the deleted scenes for part 2. I can't wait to watch all three movies and to watch all the bonus features. Getting the book is a plus too. They did a great job with the set.
Yeah, no. The lights turn on because of a light sensitive resistor. (That thing you thought was a button.) And I guess the light is timed so it doesn't stay on the whole time the box is open.
Jason’s missed a slip for Afterlife. Mine missed the 4K version of Ghostbusters II. I mean it’s fine, I have other copies of GB2. I have the digital 4K version, but I’m kind of cheesed because I spent 98 bucks on this thing and waited two months for it.

@@mbk337 It's a tough call, as the set is limited and probably won't be produced any more. It is my understanding that Sony normally does not issue replacements for the slipcovers themselves, but if this problem is big enough, they'll have to take some form of action. You can always try getting a replacement from the retailer. Best Buy had no problem with offering me a partial refund, or exchanging it (at the time today, there were about 40 copies left for restock before selling out again). The issue is, what happens if your replacement copy is also missing a slip? This is something that needs to be addressed by Sony directly. I'll let everyone know what they say, expecting a call / email back this week.
I got the UK set, a little disappointed there's no light, but I've never cared much for slip covers so that didn't bug me, though I am pretty annoyed at any omissions due to the price of the set. I do still prefer having the slightly thicker, sturdier 15mm cases over the thin US ones. My only consolation is that my copy did not come with a code for Feig's abomination. :P
I live in Southwest Ontario, and mine came in flawless condition from Amazon, with everything as it should be with all disc's and slips present and accounted for.
Someone may have answered this already, but inside the case, that is a light sensor. The light only comes on when the blurays are removed. It saves on battery.
I'm happy too, I'll download gb1, gb2 and afterlife digital versions, then I'll burn the sheet where the codes came, because the "2016" never existed and it doesn't belong in my house, other than the garbage, in fact, Sony shouldn't include the "2016" code EVER, but they did, soooo in MY COLLECTION, the "2016" doesn't exist 😉

Strange one, you can't take your regular dvds from GB1/GB2 in their slim covers and put them with the blue rays in the box, the box is still short for that.. Ok, so I am weird wanting them all together.. ;0)

Hard to say -- the 35th Anniversary Steelbook was gone after the first run, but Sony's Resident Evil collection appeared to be out-of-print for several months and then suddenly came back in December.
Unfortunately my US version got cancelled but I was able to snag the Canadian version for just a little cheaper anyway. I should have mine in hand any day now - I live in Sicily, so it takes a bit sometimes.
Frustrating, I pre-ordered mine from Amazon a month ago and I don’t even have a shipping estimate. Says “order received” and they’ll email me when they have an update. I called and they have no estimate at all. In fact, since they didn’t give me an estimate it’s not even considered late. Ridiculous. I get that there is a supply crises, but they’ve completely protected their on-time metrics. Technically, they don’t even have a delivery date to hit. They can still say this was good service and a well executed transaction.
I hate when they put critic "quotes" on the covers... especially for a box set. They couldn't have done up a photoshop cover to match the other two? How much did it cost to put lights in the bottom of the case that will impress you once? Companies will never give you the perfect anything so they can release a newer, more feature rich version in a few years for diehards to purchase again.
I received the first Ghostbusters movie twice instead of Ghostbusters 2 in 4K. The GB2 case came with GB2 in bluray and GB1 in 4K. Walmart is partially refunding me for the set. Has anyone else had this issue?

I think and as I said in another comment, for this box set to really call itself "Ultimate Collection" it should have included not only all the movies but also both animated series, Real and Extreme and also the OST.
Asking for it to include two TV series seems like a big ask, so maybe an "Ultimate Movie Collection" and "Ultimate TV Collection" released concurrently?
Suddenly, I’m feeling like I got lucky in only preordering the regular Afterlife Blu-ray, since I still have the GB1&2 Digibook Blu-ray pack and I got ATC for free with my Movies Anywhere sign up… EDIT: I’m also seeing a few people here on TH-cam unbox their Ultimate Collection sets, only to find mispackaged discs. Like the GB1 Ultra HD set only coming with the regular Blu-ray of GB1 and the 4K disc of GB2…and getting the complete GB2 4K disc set.
2 out of 3 slips is better than none I suppose! This release has been a right mess with the differences between regions - I’m thinking perhaps this may be due to material or printing delays, and they had to rush them out to meet the release date?
There's actually some kind of UK law that means the UK ones were never going to be able to include the LEDs. I don't remember what law that is (I think it's an indirect thing, that a restriction somewhere else means the tech involved is not available over there?)
@@tylerfoster6267 Don’t believe that is the case - we had the light up Close Encounters box a few years back. I think it’s either as I said above, or just a cost cutting measure. The missing slip in the Canadian set seems to be an error in packing - it just doesn’t make any sense that it wouldn’t be included when the others are.
@@RetroReels Looked up the post and the reason given (this was just a guess on behalf of the poster) was "EU electronics import regulations." The Close Encounters box set was before Brexit, so I'm wondering if this is a post-Brexit thing affecting the UK specifically. The slip I assume is just an oversight or cost-saving measure.

Mine was shipped in the outer box from the factory, and it states it originated from Sony in The Czech Republic, so that could well be the reason for the battery issue in the UK. With regard to the missing slip in the Canadian set, I don’t think it’s a cost cutting exercise, otherwise I doubt any of the films would have had them.

I've been on the fence about getting the ultimate collection. I mean, yes it's Ghostbusters so I'm totally interested. BUT how many copies of the same films can you get before you decide to stop collecting? It gets a little excessive after a while. But watching this video, I gotta say I think I'm going to get this one. They put a little bit of thought into the design of the box (the light-up feature inside is pretty neat), they included 3 of the four films, some sweet special features and the booklet... Cool cool cool. But I am a little disappointed with this box set. They call it the ultimate collection. But they left out Answer The Call. Say what you want about that one, it would have been cool to see it included. How can you call it the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection without at least some kind of reference to RGB and/or EGB? I'm not saying I would have included the entire series (well, I WOULD, but that's me. It would make the whole thing crazy expensive). But they could have included a disk with, like, a "greatest hits" collection from both cartoons. And maybe even some artwork or a couple of excerpts from some of the IDW comics. Again, it might have made the whole thing too expensive and there would probably be some licensing and trade-mark issues to work around, but... You call it ULTIMATE COLLECTION and only include what to me kind of feels like only the basics. I don know, man. Maybe I'm too picky. But a really cool collector's box set would be all 4 films, RGB & EGB (in their entirety), Ghostbusters video games (or at least a download code for them), comics, or some kind of coupon for ordering GB comics from IDW and even a littler collectable figurine. Like a Slimer or something (even do a different figurine for each box and make it a surprise!). Make the whole thing a limited run (like, only do 1984 of them. I mean, we can all agree that's a pretty radical number). Again, it would obviously be crazy expensive, but for collectors... I would totally spend the last of the petty cash on it.
We're not getting this boxset in Australia. I've seen it on ebay but the scalpers want upto 6 times what they paid for it. One of them wants $300 for it plus almost $300 for postage. I'd love to own this but I'm not paying that much
hello, the Afterlife does come with a slip cover ( I just received, mine Ultimate Collection ) today ,From Best Buy Canada, It came with a Stay-Puft Marshmallow kids - Cover , it was very nice Collection Set, wish it had the Lady version Ghostbusters 2016 Disc, but it came with the Digital Code in 2 versions ( extended version and Original ) to redeem, Love it ! Love It !

The UK version is the equivalent of $258 Canadian! And it's minus the slipcases and lights. It's disgusting. Alot of people are sending theirs back.

I returned mine, £149.99 was too expensive for me considering the trap did not light up in the UK and the digital codes & slipcases are missing. Very disappointing. The trap should have been better quality and made of plastic instead of cardboard which will get tatty over time.
actually the german version does neither got the light inside the package, nor does it have the slide covers for either GB1 nor GB2 nor Afterlife and we did not got the code for answer the call (no big loss)! Still a great set and absolutely worth the 85€ =)

I am from Canada and just opened mine from Amazon and Afterlife has a slip cover. So maybe certain sets are messed up? Hopefully Sony will address that for those who are missing the slip cover
Same! I heard of someone else in Canada getting 2 UHD GB2s and no UHD GB1 and also no slip on the Afterlife disc. I'm glad my set had all the right discs and all the slips

Did Amazon send that to you in a bag? I got mine and the D**k heads sent it in a bag. Luckily mine did get damaged but it shocked me they were so careless about packaging.

Hey Jason. I live in London Ontario, and I had slip covers on all three movies. I bought mine from best buy though.
I can confirm that my Canadian 4K set, (as well as my friends' sets) did NOT come with the slipcover for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Glad we're not alone. To any Canadian who is experiencing the same problem, PLEASE escalate the issue to Sony Pictures Releasing to hopefully get compensation / a replacement slip. Call their customer service team -- let the phone ring and don't select any numbers, that way you'll be transferred to a customer service representative immediately. Hope this helps everyone!

There seems to be several issues with the box set. I have the uk version and although it's a wonderful set,I was slightly disappointed there were no lights or slipcovers especially given the price,its still a thing of beauty though. I've also seen several people missing the Afterlife slipcover and now several people who have the wrong discs. I'm holding out hope that Sony corrects all these issues for customers.
I’m gutted about the UK version. With it lacking content and features and costing more than the US/Canadian release I just couldn’t pull the trigger. If they drop the price then I might bite but still… don’t understand why it has less.

The bonus features are fantastic I must say and all 3 films look incredible in 4k.I think the uk ones will come down in price as there still seems to be several available.

Th US box did have a slip cover for Afterlife. My set didn't have any of the sticky goo. The box set lightning slip cover just slid off after taking off the shrink wrap.
My Ghostbusters II copy had an error where I have the Blu-Ray of GB 1 and GB 2 in the case instead of the GB 2 4K disk. I also noticed that the image on the GB 2 logo on the blu-ray disc itself seems kind of blurry.
The GB logo on the original Blu-Ray and 4K Blu-Ray are slightly different. The Blu-Ray uses a thicker outline vs. the 4K. It's a little weird.
Mostly the set is awesome. I just wonder who we should contact about the missing/swapped discs.
Let me know when you find out. I am missing the disc for Ghostbusters part one in 4K. They sent me two 4K discs for Ghostbusters 2.
My US copy has a sleeve for afterlife. Also the light uses a light sensor at the front of the box not the lever. If you open it up with the movies removed the light comes on.

Apparently Sony is now saying this is a 'limited edition' boxset and has no plans to make or release anymore. This has upset a ton of fans. So if you didn't get your pre-order in, probably out of luck. Sold out everywhere and is already showing up on EBay at triple the cost. I was able to snag mine from Best Buy Canada back in early January for $99.99. Whew! I would call Sony and complain or at least petition them to release content in different type of package down the road.

I'm from Canada, Got a Perfect set. All Different Discs, no duplicates, all 3 movies have slip covers and it also lights up.
Neat box! But the flimsy cardboard inside is already damaged by the heavy stuff inside moving around during transport.
Can one remove or change the batteries for that light up feature?
Otherwise batteries might leak one day and ruin the box...

I ordered mine through Walmart real late and snagged it for $100. I haven't watched any if them yet as now I'm waiting for a 4k bluray player to show up. I've seen in some of the fb groups that there's been some flubs with people getting the wrong disk in some of the individual movies such as 2 Blu rays and no 4k. Or an extra disk of the first movie in the 2nd movie and missing its counterpart or vise versa. Luckily my didn't have any issues and I'm about half way through the book which is amazing that they included it.

No easy way to remove/change batteries. We'll have to separate the glued innards to get to the batteries... LAME!

@@donbrewer3904 Yes, internationally it is backwards intentionally. Theoretically, the circle with crossbar is meant to be the combination of the letters N and O into one symbol, so the design of the logo is actually backwards, and so it was "fixed" by someone over there.

Head's up everyone, as soon as you get yours, CHECK ALL THE DISCS. It's apparently a fairly common issue to get the wrong discs in these sets. For example, mine came with 2 copies of GB2 on 4k and no GB1 4k disc... Thankfully I found a guy in a Facebook group who had the exact opposite issue (2 copies of GB1 4k) and we arranged a disc swap through the mail. So check that you have all the correct discs! Seems to be a distribution issue and so far, I've seen 3 other posts in that group about the same issue.
Also, just noticed, but the one in this video SHOULD have a slipcover for Afterlife. So something else to check for. :P
Do you know if the copy of ATC is the Extended Cut or the theatrical? I have the extended cut digitally, as that seems to be the only one available, but I personally prefer the theatrical cut, and would love to have it digitally.
In the US, I redeemed via MA and it gave me both versions in 4K. When it ported to VUDU it only gave me HD on the Extended Cut because apparently they don't offer 4K for that version.
Currently working on a 3d prototype of this box set, just need my order to arrive to get dimensions. 🙃
Just ordered my copy of the 4K boxed set yesterday. Fingers crossed that I do not end up with any missing discs. Cannot wait to see all of the new content for both Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, and have a second copy of the book Making Ghostbusters.
I'm in Ontario as well, mine came from best buy. Didn't open it up yet as I had lots on my plate last night...I will be pretty mad if they short packed me a slip cover. I paid for the ultimate set to keep everything uniform...my OCD will be out of control if I'm missing any slip covers.

This collector's box set was sold out from Best Buy almost immediately the day the box was released!! Also, on some sites, the preorders were sold out a few weeks before the actual box was released. Anyway, I just ordered one on Ebay. Mine is also the Canadian version. From what Ebay told me about shipping, I won't get my copy until sometimes next month. Oh well...I don't mind waiting. The wait is definitely going to be worth it!!

I got mine yesterday. I can't wait to watch the work print of Ghostbusters 1 and see all the deleted scenes for part 2. I can't wait to watch all three movies and to watch all the bonus features. Getting the book is a plus too. They did a great job with the set.
Yeah, no. The lights turn on because of a light sensitive resistor. (That thing you thought was a button.) And I guess the light is timed so it doesn't stay on the whole time the box is open.
Jason’s missed a slip for Afterlife. Mine missed the 4K version of Ghostbusters II. I mean it’s fine, I have other copies of GB2. I have the digital 4K version, but I’m kind of cheesed because I spent 98 bucks on this thing and waited two months for it.

@@mbk337 It's a tough call, as the set is limited and probably won't be produced any more. It is my understanding that Sony normally does not issue replacements for the slipcovers themselves, but if this problem is big enough, they'll have to take some form of action.
You can always try getting a replacement from the retailer. Best Buy had no problem with offering me a partial refund, or exchanging it (at the time today, there were about 40 copies left for restock before selling out again). The issue is, what happens if your replacement copy is also missing a slip?
This is something that needs to be addressed by Sony directly. I'll let everyone know what they say, expecting a call / email back this week.
I ordered my copy from Best Buy Canada and paid $113 and had no problems at all. Everything was included and I am content.
I got the UK set, a little disappointed there's no light, but I've never cared much for slip covers so that didn't bug me, though I am pretty annoyed at any omissions due to the price of the set. I do still prefer having the slightly thicker, sturdier 15mm cases over the thin US ones.
My only consolation is that my copy did not come with a code for Feig's abomination. :P

I live in Southwest Ontario, and mine came in flawless condition from Amazon, with everything as it should be with all disc's and slips present and accounted for.
Someone may have answered this already, but inside the case, that is a light sensor. The light only comes on when the blurays are removed. It saves on battery.

Strange one, you can't take your regular dvds from GB1/GB2 in their slim covers and put them with the blue rays in the box, the box is still short for that.. Ok, so I am weird wanting them all together.. ;0)

I got mine yesterday and was so happy, In my set the afterlife disc did come with a dust jacket . I been seeing in a lot of Ghostbusters fan pages that some people of getting sets with missing items.

Hard to say -- the 35th Anniversary Steelbook was gone after the first run, but Sony's Resident Evil collection appeared to be out-of-print for several months and then suddenly came back in December.
Sonys already announced that its limited edition and once the intital run is done its gone for good
So the American versions are good right the lights and codes are good

Unfortunately my US version got cancelled but I was able to snag the Canadian version for just a little cheaper anyway. I should have mine in hand any day now - I live in Sicily, so it takes a bit sometimes.

Frustrating, I pre-ordered mine from Amazon a month ago and I don’t even have a shipping estimate.
Says “order received” and they’ll email me when they have an update. I called and they have no estimate at all. In fact, since they didn’t give me an estimate it’s not even considered late. Ridiculous.
I get that there is a supply crises, but they’ve completely protected their on-time metrics. Technically, they don’t even have a delivery date to hit. They can still say this was good service and a well executed transaction.
I hate when they put critic "quotes" on the covers... especially for a box set. They couldn't have done up a photoshop cover to match the other two? How much did it cost to put lights in the bottom of the case that will impress you once? Companies will never give you the perfect anything so they can release a newer, more feature rich version in a few years for diehards to purchase again.
How did you get one not damaged? Amazon dropped the ball on the shipping.

I received the first Ghostbusters movie twice instead of Ghostbusters 2 in 4K. The GB2 case came with GB2 in bluray and GB1 in 4K. Walmart is partially refunding me for the set. Has anyone else had this issue?

I think and as I said in another comment, for this box set to really call itself "Ultimate Collection" it should have included not only all the movies but also both animated series, Real and Extreme and also the OST.
Asking for it to include two TV series seems like a big ask, so maybe an "Ultimate Movie Collection" and "Ultimate TV Collection" released concurrently?

EDIT: I’m also seeing a few people here on TH-cam unbox their Ultimate Collection sets, only to find mispackaged discs. Like the GB1 Ultra HD set only coming with the regular Blu-ray of GB1 and the 4K disc of GB2…and getting the complete GB2 4K disc set.
I got those exact same discs in my set. Fml. Lol. Where do i reach out for the correct ghostbusters 1 4K disc?
2 out of 3 slips is better than none I suppose! This release has been a right mess with the differences between regions - I’m thinking perhaps this may be due to material or printing delays, and they had to rush them out to meet the release date?
There's actually some kind of UK law that means the UK ones were never going to be able to include the LEDs. I don't remember what law that is (I think it's an indirect thing, that a restriction somewhere else means the tech involved is not available over there?)
@@tylerfoster6267 Don’t believe that is the case - we had the light up Close Encounters box a few years back. I think it’s either as I said above, or just a cost cutting measure. The missing slip in the Canadian set seems to be an error in packing - it just doesn’t make any sense that it wouldn’t be included when the others are.
@@RetroReels Looked up the post and the reason given (this was just a guess on behalf of the poster) was "EU electronics import regulations." The Close Encounters box set was before Brexit, so I'm wondering if this is a post-Brexit thing affecting the UK specifically.
The slip I assume is just an oversight or cost-saving measure.

Mine was shipped in the outer box from the factory, and it states it originated from Sony in The Czech Republic, so that could well be the reason for the battery issue in the UK. With regard to the missing slip in the Canadian set, I don’t think it’s a cost cutting exercise, otherwise I doubt any of the films would have had them.
Could I switch out the GB 1 & 2 for the Metal edition of 1 & 2 into the ghost trap box?
Would have been the best collection ever if they included the entire series of Real Ghotbusters too.

Mine came with a slip cover for afterlife. Also paid $89 the day it was available for pre order on wal marts website, but it shot up after that.
Did Walmart honor that original price. I ordered mine on Amazon and got it today but debating rather fighting with myself if I want to open it or not hehe. At order time, it was $150 but Amazon gave a price policy if the price dropped at the time of release, that's the price that will be charged. It ended up at $108.

I've been on the fence about getting the ultimate collection. I mean, yes it's Ghostbusters so I'm totally interested. BUT how many copies of the same films can you get before you decide to stop collecting? It gets a little excessive after a while. But watching this video, I gotta say I think I'm going to get this one. They put a little bit of thought into the design of the box (the light-up feature inside is pretty neat), they included 3 of the four films, some sweet special features and the booklet... Cool cool cool. But I am a little disappointed with this box set.
They call it the ultimate collection. But they left out Answer The Call. Say what you want about that one, it would have been cool to see it included. How can you call it the Ghostbusters Ultimate Collection without at least some kind of reference to RGB and/or EGB? I'm not saying I would have included the entire series (well, I WOULD, but that's me. It would make the whole thing crazy expensive). But they could have included a disk with, like, a "greatest hits" collection from both cartoons. And maybe even some artwork or a couple of excerpts from some of the IDW comics. Again, it might have made the whole thing too expensive and there would probably be some licensing and trade-mark issues to work around, but... You call it ULTIMATE COLLECTION and only include what to me kind of feels like only the basics.
I don know, man. Maybe I'm too picky. But a really cool collector's box set would be all 4 films, RGB & EGB (in their entirety), Ghostbusters video games (or at least a download code for them), comics, or some kind of coupon for ordering GB comics from IDW and even a littler collectable figurine. Like a Slimer or something (even do a different figurine for each box and make it a surprise!). Make the whole thing a limited run (like, only do 1984 of them. I mean, we can all agree that's a pretty radical number). Again, it would obviously be crazy expensive, but for collectors... I would totally spend the last of the petty cash on it.
Try sliding the mechanism on the outside of the box to open up the trap and see if the light comes on maybe that’s what the light is all about

My boxset has a minor screwup. My 4k disk of gb1 is not in it's case, instead in it's place I got a second 4k disc of gb2

We're not getting this boxset in Australia. I've seen it on ebay but the scalpers want upto 6 times what they paid for it. One of them wants $300 for it plus almost $300 for postage. I'd love to own this but I'm not paying that much

hello, the Afterlife does come with a slip cover ( I just received, mine Ultimate Collection ) today ,From Best Buy Canada, It came with a Stay-Puft Marshmallow kids - Cover , it was very nice Collection Set, wish it had the Lady version Ghostbusters 2016 Disc, but it came with the Digital Code in 2 versions ( extended version and Original ) to redeem, Love it ! Love It !
You can always purchase that film seperately and put it in the case instead of the book
