The previous 4K discs for 1 and 2 are NOT the same as the box set. The 4K's for 1 and 2 in this set have Dolby Vision where the previous 4K's were HDR only.
Dolby vision in GB2 where the opening scene of the purple ooze leaking out from the road is so HiDef that it looks it was filmed in recent years! Great restoration of the 80s movie!
Oh man, I’ve heard of other people getting a duplicate copy of GB2. I was okay in that front, but my box not so much. It showed up from Amazon in a thin plastic bag. Upon opening, the lights never worked and something was rattling loose inside.
Yikes. Hate that the Amazon algorithm keeps giving plastic bags as packing material cause it doesn’t protect anything. It double sucks that they’re sold out and its not easily replaced
@@Soundout12 So, after a few months, Sony finally got back to me and shipped me a brand new box. Lights work, and it even had a J Card still attached to the outer plastic sleeve. And unlike Amazon, they shipped it IN A BOX.
I got the 2019 4k steelbook box set of the first two movies. Haven't watched that version yet, but I hope it's true they went back to the original negative. As I always hated how the buildings in the background would shake and the terror dogs were composited really poorly as they used optical compositing back in the day.
I've had this set unopened on my shelf since release so I started getting worried when this is the first time I've heard of these errors! Luckily mine was all there minus the 2016 digital code but that's no real loss as I prefer my physical copy.
I received two copies of the first movie instead of part II. So yeah. I fired off an email to Sony to see what they'll do but in the meantime, I'm certainly up for a trade. :)
Sony already knows the issue and will send you the replacement discs that you need. Just need to send them proof of purchase and a picture of the discs that you did get.
hopefully there's not too many encoding errors. The Cast & Crew featurette on my copy of disc one has pixilated bits right the way through the feature. in saying that every other thing uve go e through so far has been perfect
contact sony they know and it is a widespread issue and there are a bunch of known issues...cant understand how they messed up a release this big lol..
@@Soundout12 I heard about that. But I was one of the lucky ones to pre order the complete set in the firehouse box, nearly 15 years ago now….needless to say, I was beyond excited for the DVD release of the show. I see that set going for like a thousand dollars now.
Oh, man... I had no idea about the two special features discs and now I'm really bummed I didn't pre-order this.
Here’s hoping Sony reissues this soon

Thank you for the info! I had skipped the previous 4Ks in anticipation of a set like this. Hopefully Sony can get me a replacement disc then

Is the grain still awfully heavy on the new 4K of the original Ghostbusters or is it more refined?
You said, "I don't know who to contact about that." No, you say, "Who you gonna call?" It was right there for you.
That
Literally might be the biggest missed opportunity of my career.

Hopefully this does enough so we can get say a complete set of both Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters
I would buy that instantly
You can buy them all ready, just not together. But they are not cheap.

I’m glad you have all the discs!
I just saw this video and like you i didnt check it until today in 2024! And lo and behold. I have a duplicate problem. Now what😢
The GB emblem on the inside of the box wasn't incorrect. You had the box upside down.
Luckily, I had no issues with my set. Everything was there as should be. I was shocked after hearing about issues other people had.
I’m glad to hear that yours came out good!
But what about the 2016 film? Oh! Never mind!
I received two copies of the first movie instead of part II. So yeah. I fired off an email to Sony to see what they'll do but in the meantime, I'm certainly up for a trade. :)
If Sony doesn’t pull through for us, I’m up for a trade as well

I'm getting worried. Mine is suppossed to arrive in a couple of days, if I get duplicate disc error I am really gonna be dissapointed.
I got mine on Monday and luckily no duplicates! So how about yours?

in saying that every other thing uve go e through so far has been perfect
I’ll have to do a full run of all the features soon. I expect there might be some hiccups with the wildly varied video quality used on them
contact sony they know and it is a widespread issue and there are a bunch of known issues...cant understand how they messed up a release this big lol..
Ikr. I shot an email to them as they said they’re escalating the issue so we’ll see
I would contact Amazon and have them figure it out. At the end of the day you bought it through Amazon.
It would be cool if the made a Extreme Ghostbusters show on Blu Ray.
That would be so good
I think more people would rather a Blu-ray of the really good cartoon, “The Real Ghostbusters” (Yes, I know there’s one in the UK)
I’d also settle for a DVD set thats not missing 25 episodes *glares at Sony*

Did they fix it about ghostbusters 4k original cause u got 2 copies of it
I’m still waiting for Sony to send a replacement. The last I heard was “The issue is being escalated”
@@Soundout12 that sucks I got mine yesterday and mine was fine
It seems like about half the sets are fine and the other half have so mismatch of discs
@@Soundout12 that’s weird they should fix that
Sondout12
You got trolled with the duplicate disc
Sony trolled a lot of us with this
@@Soundout12 Who you gonna blame?👻🚫🧐🤷♀
Not say blu-ray say just dvd to you too hope you have a great weekend too good day no but I’m mad 😠 very mad 😡 ok to stop
