Starmer put himself on a pedestal of honesty and transparency when in opposition, holding the previous useless bunch of idiots accountable for every little misdemeanor.
Starmer & Co have managed in three months in comparison to Johnsons three years.

This is par for the course. The Black Belt Barrister notes that Labour would be breaking a manifesto promise, but the courts decided politicians can not be held liable for breaching manifesto promises, so there are no consequences.
Which brings me to the question of what would a politician have to do to be charged with misconduct in public office. I know the Black Belt Barrister does not give legal advice, but it would be interesting to here what he thinks would be prosecutable behaviour.

However, income tax thresholds will continue to be frozen (they are not just talking about it) for the next few years and, as wages and salaries rise, so will the tax take from "working people".

He had to pick up the Poisoned Chalice left behind by Boris Johnson, Theresa May and Liz Truss... The man had his work cut out trying to put right all their F**k ups!
Again, I didn't like him but I do feel he gets a lot of unfair hatred... And he is also a Tory Leader who stood by his word - He said one way or another, He woudl step down after that last election... And he has! Had The Tories WON the last GE... They would now be having a very public leadership contest! Sunak knew the damage was too much for him to handle! He made serious errors... But who wouldn't when you have the crap from 3 other leaders to deal with!
Starmar is getting a lot of Criticism as he has been Labour Leader now for almost 20 years... During his time in the Shadow Cabinet, Has he actually made any Plans or just relied on Rhetoric and Spiel to get elected before thinking "Now how are we going to do this?" - It is almost like when they were in opposition.. Often the profit margins are so small that increasing employers NI contributions may be enough to prevent the company from being able to grow or might even mean that they have to lay staff off. After all many small busines owners have had to do things such as remortgage their homes to survive through the lockdowns. Their bills have increased not only for their homes but also for their business.

I am self employed, I have been for over twenty years, but a business owner is effectively also self employed. If their costings go up, then it's also reflected not only on what they pay, the cost of raw materials and what they charge the customer, but also on their tax return. By charging more business tax the government also risks increasing tax deductable cost from the businesses books. In the long run everyone actually loses including the government due to increased wage costs and costs of consumables.
