This is a wonderful, powerful video. I was talking with a gentleman of a different ethnicity, and I explain our differences like this... Go to a paint store and ask for a sample sheet of every shade of brown that exists. You will find every ethnic skin tone on this sheet. Being one race, we are also one color, brown, we just show different shade tones of brown.

I've used the example of, if we lined up every human being in one line, with the darkest skinned person on one end and the lightest skinned person on the other end, would you find any dividing lines in there? No! The skin tones would shade gradually from dark to light without any dividing lines.

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

God never asked for blind faith. Do you think He parted the Red Sea so the people might think there could be a god out there somewhere? Read Ezekiel: the theme of the whole book is Israel will know I am the Lord, their enemies will know I am the Lord, just plain everybody will know I am the Lord... when I accomplish all that I said would. Faith is built on evidence. If you believe there is a God just because someone wrote a book and said, "God wrote this", you are not faithful, you are gullible. There are over 2,300 scientific facts recorded in the Bible that were verifiably written before they were discovered. Bibles average 1,800 pages. God filled that book to overflowing with evidence so nobody could be accused of being gullible, only faithful.

But every one else needs to die before they can live for all eternity. Just saying don't mistake religion for science, you can be educated in both but only one works with the physical world, hence science doesnt acknowledge God in their studies and it has been shown he is not needed for the scientific view of the world but when you take the bible in a very literal sense you require miracles for every event, and why doesn't he have to do that now

"In the beginning..." a perfect, all-powerful, all-loving god created humans, whom he knew were imperfectly created, as was his intention, and so he punished them for being created the way He made them.
He laid out arbitrary laws that contradicted the instincts he had instilled in these humans, then punished them for having those instincts. The laws themselves were not important. No amount of fornication or wearing wool with cotton or eating shellfish could have any effect whatsoever on God, because he was all-powerful. He just made these rules because they aligned with the superstitions of the time.
God blamed all of mankind's problems on "free will", when in fact he had the power to create a universe where free will still existed, but sin did not, because that's what "all-powerful" means. But he chose to create the crappy universe, fill it with people who had instinctive drives to commit certain acts, then to ban those acts. Because he loves us so much.
God then made a special rule requiring that everyone love his Son, even those people who had never and will never meet his son. God made sure that only a fraction of a percentage of the population, during a very tiny period of time, would EVER meet his son. Then he condemned to hell anyone who didn't believe in him. As a special gift to go with this special rule, god created brains, which discovered science and reason. These Gifts helped to make sure a LOT of people didn't believe in his son, because he made sure to hide all evidence of his son. Because he loves us so much.
Since the resurrection of his son and his ascension into heaven, God & Son have remained hidden away in heaven, watching as war after war has been waged about whose god is the real god, and whose interpretation of the Bible is correct. God & Son COULD have appeared on earth at any time, cleared up all the misunderstandings, and brought peace, but after much deliberation and soul-searching, God & Son decided..."Meh." Because they love us so much.
So that's why you must love God & Son with all your heart: they are a cruel, sadistic duo who INVENT reasons to send your sorry soul to hell. Do whatever you must to appease their bloodlust and obey their arbitrary whims or they will burn you forever. Because they love you so much!

Question for the YECs here - *what physical evidence establishes a time for the Flood of approx. 4400 years ago?* Surely such a world destroying event should have left evidence of when it occurred. Something like "no lake has more than 4400 yearly varves". Or "no ice core samples show more than 4400 yearly melt patterns". Or "no tree ring data shows more than 4400 years". Anyone have any physical data which established the timeline?

In a similar vein to your overall point about the importance of an accurate, realistic portrayal of the flood account, can someone tell me why some choose to include a prow in the ark design? The ark was not a ship, it was a life raft. It didn't have to sail, and had no propulsion. There is no mention, to my memory, of such a bow, and it significantly increases the difficulty of the construction.

    • @Chazd1949
      @Chazd1949 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

That was one of my points also. Here is the rest of my argument:
The length and width of the ark in KY is probably close to being correct, as Dr. Purdom explains; however, I seriously doubt that it had a bow and a stern. It was most likely shaped like a rectangular barge - square at both ends. All it had to do was float, it had nowhere to go and no rudder for steering. Though Dr. Purdom defends their replica as being realistic in size, it still has the "storybook" shape.
Dr. Purdom's concern over Christianity being ridiculed by unbelievers has far less to do with a storybook image of the ark than it does with AiG's claim that the earth/universe is but thousands of years old. The sad part is that a lot of the kids who grow up hearing only young earth teaching later learn good science and realizer the young earth teaching was all "smoke and mirrors;" so they "throw out the baby with the bathwater" and drop out of Christianity altogether. This wouldn't happen had they been informed that the young earth view is just one interpretation and that many conservative, Bible-believing Christians believe that Genesis can be legitimately interpreted in an ancient earth/universe context without allegorizing or labelling it a myth. If they read Dr. John Lennox's book, "Seven Days that Divide the World," or Hugh Ross's books, "Navigating Genesis," or, "A Matter of Days" they would understand that the old earth/universe view does not require acceptance of Darwinian evolution.
It would be far better if the young person abandoned the young earth view for the old earth view, (or even theistic evolution) rather than totally drop out of Christianity and become an atheist or agnostic. Unfortunately, Answers in Genesis seems to do their best to "vaccinate" their followers from any other view held by Christians by labelling them as "heretics," "compromisers," "evolutionists," etc. This is not helping the cause of Christ, but perhaps it is necessary to keep the revenue flowing to AiG. They cannot afford to have anyone "jump ship." After all, they have tens of millions of dollars of other people's money invested in this project which requires hundreds of people to keep it "afloat.".
Four hundred years ago, the church was divided over the issue of whether the earth or the sun was at the center of the solar system (geocentrism versus heliocentrism). There were also non-churchmen who argued strongly for geocentrism. Churchmen who held to geocentrism argued that the Scriptures were to be understood properly as teaching that the earth was stationary and the heavenly bodies revolved around it. 1 Chron. 16:30 “Tremble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved.” Geocentrists used this verse (as well as Ps. 93:1; 96:10; 104:5 and even Eccl. 1:5) to support the view that the Earth was stationary and at the center of the universe (solar system) and not the sun. If Answers in Genesis is going to be consistent with their strict, wooden literal hermeneutical method, they should also hold to geocentrism, but they do not.

Considering feed and water for the animals as well as the people on the arc is one component. Then there would be the wastes. God had his hand on this event and as such would have had his divine hand on the requirement for food and water. As such some food and water may have been required, but much reduced. We need to look to The Exodus for inspiration. God fed the Hebrew people by Manna, birds falling from the sky and water flowing out of a rock. Divine intervention.

Nobody is going to be lost because they shared the wrong shaped ark, or were told a Bible "story," or anything that some Christian said not quite right enough. We know the seed is sown on all types of soil and is not always on good soil. Few will be saved and most will be lost. It's God who saves people, not Christians who do the saving. The absolute precision of what is shared with unbelievers is not going to be the determining factor in someone coming to Christ. It's as simple as anyone could imagine...confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. The Holy Spirit has been sent into the world to convict the world of sin, judgement and righteousness. He's already working in the heart of all men. There's no reason to worry about crafting the "perfect" sermon. Just as your righteousness is filthy rags before God, also your efforts are not the foundation of anyone's response to His gospel. That is the result of God's work through His Spirit in the heart of those He saves. Don't worry about the imperfect efforts of those who preach the Gospel. Even Paul noted that even if those who mean harm preach the Gospel, the power of the Gospel can save.

The question of how to interpret the “days” in Genesis 1 has been debated for hundreds of years within the Christian church. The early chapters of Genesis were explored for their theological message (and not for scientific claims) by many notable Christian thinkers long before scientific evidence for the great age of the universe began to accumulate. The diversity and sophistication of pre-modern views of Genesis reminds us that the best interpretation is not obviously six 24-hour days.

    Excellent presentation.
Some issues that have come to me through study might help explain how a worldwide flood was possible.
Geologists contend mountains are created when tectonic plates collide. They also insist at one time all the continents were one. They call it pangea.
Ironically, the bible also mentions something similar in Genesis 1:9- “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” so according to that the water in one place and the land in a separate place.
If land was one piece then that suggests there were none of the high mountains we have today. With that in mind it didn't required 30,000 feet of water to cover the highest areas of land. The state where I live has no ground higher than1, 915 feet. There are monstrous ravines in the oceans as deep as the mountains are high. The mountains were most likely created during or after the flood. Some salt water fossils have been found at 10,000 feet. But they could have been deposited before that section of land rose to its current height.
Noah and family shouldn't have needed to tend all the animals all the time. Many animals hibernate for months at a time. That would greatly reduce the amount of care they would need. In hibernation their metabolism reduces drastically. That would mean less food and water. And surely a god who can create a whole planet of living creatures could easily instruct them to take turns hibernating.

    • @hylaherping9180
      @hylaherping9180 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Animals that hibernate do so in colder environments when conditions are not good. And most don't hibernate at all. Animals like hummingbirds and shrews need to eat constantly every day or they die. It's not like there's an abundance of flowers on the ark that give hummingbirds nectar, nor are there hundreds of prey items for Shrews to eat on board. Then of course there's parasites and diseases, which also needed to be on the ark otherwise they wouldn't exist either. And most diseases are species specific, so every animal on board would be infected with every disease possible to have. I don't even need to mention the inbreeding. The flood story is silly and stupid beyond any reasonable belief.

"If land was one piece then that suggests there were none of the high mountains we have today."
No. It doesn't suggest that at all. Pangea was only the last supercontinent, which was 200 to 300 million years ago, not 4,000. There were at least two others before that (Gondwana and Pannotia) and probably more. What do you think formed when those supercontinents came together?

The description of the animals on the ark needs our attention. First she said that a pair of each of animals was on the ark. In the equine example, was the pair zebras, horses or what? She said, for an example, that the pair somehow creates a zorse or zonkey. So was the pair not of the same species or was it? Two zebras never produce a zorse. And, a zebra and a horse always produce a zorse. She didn't explain that relationship. Even more importantly, a cross-bred zorse is infertile. Two zorses don't reproduce to another zorse, they produce nothing. Zorse and zonkey are not new species, they are both infertile and are not part of nature. Nature is pretty solid on the idea that life follows within species, not across them. For instance, you don't see blue jays mating with cardinals to create a new purple bird species. This explanation of animals on the ark is not convincing.

Why isn't there any documentation of these animals changing over time aside from specifically dogs? Why isn't there any record of bones or fossils _anywhere at all_ indicating that such animals came from that region (it's not that they're rare, there's no cases _anywhere)?_ How could have the animals be living on the other side of the earth where there is no land bridge? Are they suggesting that evolution through natural selection is a very real phenomenon? If not what do they call it and how is it different?

The general idea here, whether the YEC in question subscribes to catastrophic plate tectonics or hydroplate, is that the overall sea level was much lower then than it is now by virtue of most of that water being locked away below ground. When the flood happens, this water is released and the continental shuffling produces enough radical change in the geography that _then_ there'd be enough room for all that water.

I have no problem believing that the flood took place. There is a lot of geological evidence now when you combine geological evidence from many countries, but I do not believe the arc was designed as shown in this video.
The arc had to be sea worthy, no doubt, but I do not believe that Noah spent most of his time cowering below deck as 100 foot waves crashed down from above.
I would be more inclined to believe that it had a simple box construction with no curved lines. The curved lines you mentioned are called curved chines in a boat. Noah had no propulsion unit so it need not have a prow. All it had to do was float. Under God,s protection, it would survive, unlike the Wyoming, mentioned, that was 450 feet long and sunk in a storm in 1924. I would actually think that Noah experienced much calm water as 100 foot waves split and passed to each side of him, much like the water was split to accommodate the Israelites at the Gulf of Acuba crossing. The animals were probably kept in stasis or hibernation most of the time.
After the rain subsided Noah could go on deck and watch a lot of the action going on around him. God probably gave him a dose of sunshine even, splitting the clouds to do so. In fact the area that Noah was in did not experience a lot of geological activity except for the formation of the rift valley that now contains the Jordan River ,Sea of Gallalee and the Dead Sea.
I would say that the arc would have been built like a box simply because it's carrying volume capacity would have been significantly more, approaching 15 to 20 percent.
The fact that we are here is a testimony to the fact that it worked, making the logical assumption that the flood did take place.
Believing that the flood took place is easier for me than believing that Jesus and God are one and the same being. How could he not know the day or the hour when he will be coming to do a second cleansing of the earth. The only reason I can think of is that his Father never told him. The flood took place all right but is there something that God does not know?

Breeding different species might sometimes result in fertile offspring, but not reliably - which you would need if you only have 1 pair of animals to repopulate the earth. Only breeding inside the same species produces fertile offspring reliably - it's part of the definition of species.

Hello, I think this might help:
The continents we see today were not the same before the flood. Because of seismic and tectonic movements, the land shifted. Plus, the power of water eroding rock is often underestimated. Look at the floods in Libya and Yellowstone.
I personally believe that the land was much different than today, possibly even one continent as the theory of Pangea suggests. I also believe God has power to do miracles. Either way, if the land was broken up or all one clump, I still believe God could make it happen.

Because there was no Africa or the Middle East in the Pre-Flood world, no American continents either, just 1 Pangaean Supercontinent and 1 Ocean. No separate plates, no mountains or volcanoes, or canyons. Every piece of land was accessible on foot. Rivers we know today, like the Nile and the Euphrates, didn't exist back then. The modern Euphrates was merely named after the original. Also the Ark landed in the Middle East, we don't know where it originally departed from because that land no longer exists, at least not in the way it used to.

You are building an ark that is not in the water. So people will wonder why you are building an ark on dry land. No doubt you will tell them why you are building the ark. Those that were preached to didn't listen to what Noah and his family had to say.
We have to do more than just confess and believe. Faith without works is dead just as the bible book James tells us. Faith won't help us one bit if we take zero action based on that faith.
The planet didn't do anything wrong where it needs to be destroyed. What the bible talks about that will get destroyed that are old heavens and old earth are governments and mankind that is alienated to God. That is what will be destroyed. The new heavens is God's kingdom government and the new earth is obedient mankind living on the same earth that we are living on.
Look a fiery hell is a false teaching that came from pagan religions. The true punishment for the wicked is complete destruction. To the point where even God and everyone else that knew that person forget they even existed. That is more loving than a fiery hell.

@@leroyjenkins3744 there's a mode of consistency we can see when we evaluate what the scriptures say that points to something greater than human intelligence. For instance, Genesis 1 says several things about nature and the origin of the universe that mere humans would have no way of knowing before the scientific method had been developed, yet the scientific method has allowed us to verify that in fact these things are true. For instance, it says the universe had a beginning. Well for a long time atheistic scientists believed the universe had no beginning, it just always existed, because a universe that had no beginning wouldn't require a creator; no human was actually present to witness the creation of the universe, so atheistic scientists opted for the notion that the cosmos had just always existed. Well scientists eventually came to observe the fact that the universe is expanding, which means if we could back extrapolate it would retract to a single point, meaning the universe indeed did have a beginning and the Bible had it right all along. Pretty much every claim in scripture that can be verified or falsified by science has been verified. The fact that people could have written claims in ancient times that are scientifically consistent without understanding the scientific method is quite compelling and points to a higher intelligence at work. If you have not done so already please accept the higher intelligence at work; declare Jesus as your Lord, believe in your heart that God raised him from death and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).

I have a question about the fact that you take genesis literally and not figuratively even though there are clear inconsistencies with real life observations of the world. To give just one simple example, The tower of Babel, if such an event as the dispersion of people by changing their languages suddenly took place would we not be able track all our current languages back to that very event and find evidence of its occurrence. This is not the only troubling thing in the story of Babel, according to the story God carried out the language dispersion to stop the people from reaching the heavens. How could people have built a tower with just bricks and primitive tools without it breaking down? The highest a brick only building could go is about 12 - 13 stories. How could 13 stories ever get anywhere near the 'heavens'. If the story is true we would have to assume that the tower was taller than the Burj Khalifa which is made of concrete, steel, modern tools, etc. Why did God not prevent the Burj Khalifa from being built, or humans going to the moon or rovers to mars?

The meaning of the Second Peter passage is that God is not subject to time, and therefore is faithful to keep His promises. It would be a mistake to use it as an interpretive yardstick of 'day' in Genesis, as there's no textual coordination between the two passages. The Hebrew word _yom_ is translated 'day' in the Creation account in Genesis, and everywhere in Scripture and in contemporary writing where _yom_ is used, it means a literal 24-hour period. There are other words used when a figurative or poetic meaning is intended, such as 'the day of the Lord', etc.
Besides, the impulse to increase greatly the literal 6 24-hour days of the Creation is something that non-believers insist on to try and shoehorn in time for evolution or otherwise explain away His miracles, and unfortunately something we sometimes fall prey to, in order to not appear in their eyes as unscientific rubes. Not judging you, I'm just saying in general, and that peer pressure is oh so very strong. But we believe in a God Who spoke everything into existence, displayed His power in the Flood, in freeing the Israelites from Egyptian slavery, validated Jesus as His Son and Messiah, and Who will give us a home with Him in Heaven throughout all eternity. I think He can handle creating the universe in 144 hours. Because really, He could have done it in a timeless instant if He so chose....

One does have to wonder, if AIG truly believed the flood story, as laid out in the genesis fable, why is it they built it 100s of miles from the nearest large body of water? Why was it built as a tourist trap instead of a "floating zoo complete with food & water storage areas"? Here was their perfect moment to show off how all those kinds could fit along with enough food and water to live 1 year and 17 days PLUS AT LEAST one full growing season, preparing the soil to harvesting the crops. Which means there also had to be space for plenty of seeds and cuttings to start new plants, enough to feed ALL those "KINDS" until the next year's harvest. Here they had a perfect opportunity to show how 8 people could keep up with feeding, watering and cleaning up after all those animals, with only ONE 1 cubit opening near the roof. Here was their perfect opportunity to show just what "kinds" they thought were actually on the ark, and how well they could all fit together. AND YET, what did they build? Certainly nothing seaworthy. Certainly nothing to take advantage of this golden opportunity. No, they built a tourist trap for gullible believers to come and empty their wallets. AND the zoo they did build? Why it's OUTSIDE of the ark, holds far fewer animals, and I'm betting takes up far more ground space than the ark dimensions actually allow for. One has to wonder why? Might it be that they don't really believe and are just bilking and milking their followers 🤔🤔
Don't talk down the real evidence for evolution when THIS is the best evidence you can produce for your flood. Noah and His Ark Problems...
Even if Noah could acquire the impossible amount of wood needed to construct it, however, we run into further problems. The Ark would have been a sizable fraction of the size of an Aircraft Carrier or a Battleship, and a wooden boat that size would have been too leaky and flexible to withstand the stresses of global flood conditions. ( It Being smaller then the Titanic )
    1. ~7.77 million species of animals (of which 953,434 have been described and cataloged)
    2. ~298,000 species of plants (of which 215,644 have been described and cataloged)
    3. ~611,000 species of fungi (moulds, mushrooms) (of which 43,271 have been described and cataloged)
    4. ~36,400 species of protozoa (single-cell organisms with animal-like behavior, eg. movement, of which 8,118 have been described and cataloged)
    5. ~27,500 species of chromista (including, eg. brown algae, diatoms, water moulds, of which 13,033 have been described and cataloged)
Conclusion: Noah supposedly took two pairs of each animal. That means Noah at least has to fill and feed more than 10 million animals in his ship. Don't for get all the waist management. (if we exclude animals living in sea and include insects). Neither description of ark in Bible can satisfy this demands nor any ship ever builded in human history. Story of Noah is probably written by people who thought there were at most several hundreds of species living in the world. Using The Evidence Shows The Ark Could Not Be True... We need to be a bit better than this. Making statements of fact that are provably false hurt the cause. One example, the bloodhound has been around since 700 AD - that's more than 500 years.
On another note, say you had two young cows (1 bull, 1 heifer). A general rule of thumb is that they need 2-3% of their body weight in daily feed. If you consider 2 animals that are 500 lbs (to start with). Using 2%, that's 7300 lbs of feed to store for 1 year. That does not take into account growth and increasing dietary needs over that 1 year. That's about 70 3 string bales of hay or 150 2 string bales. That's quite a bit of hay for a single family of animals. The point is, it's powerful to say you believe something. The minute you start to say you know something, because of facts, it becomes much less powerful.

From a strictly genetic standpoint, evolution is impossible, not unlikely: impossible. Mutations come from information being cut from the gene pool and only cut from the gene pool. Which means the pool was fuller and deeper in the past. Evolutionists tell us that mutations are the result of additions to the pool and the right combination of such mutations lead to new traits in a species, but not only has such a mutation never been observed, geneticists have proven that such mutations have never occurred. The terrible thing is that even though evolution is dead as a theory and as a science, it is still being taught, not as a viable theory, but as a fact. At least the ark is a viable story, evolution never was.

@@vaeshethblade931 I say “as soon as” because many species existed in ancient times as they do now so they didn’t have 4000 years. You obviously know nothing about evolution except what the creationists tell you.
The flood story defies many fields of science and knowledge gained in the last 500 years. The ark as described in Genesis is totally impossible. 4 men could never build such a thing with Bronze Age tools and technology no matter how long they had to do it. Its size could never contain all the animals, their food and water, even if just “kinds” were included, young animals, hibernating, etc. No electricity, no plumbing, no air circulation, no food storage, no waste disposal, and it would leak like crazy and probably break up from the first wave it rode over. And how did all the animals get there? Oh yeah, the continents zoomed around without some how creating enough heat to melt the crust of the earth. And then what about all the land plants? Did they walk to the Middle East? Then all the sea life. Your creationists dismiss that, ignoring the fact that marine plants and animals have requirements such as temperature, salinity, depth, light, tides to name a few. I’ve seen all the creationist videos and none of their evidence makes any sense or is easily explained by eons of time. And you say the ark is a viable story?
Every one of those creation scientists making these videos starts with the Bible as a given. That alone discredits them because real science uses evidence to draw a conclusion rather than making up evidence to fit what they already believe.

That causes millions to never enter the door of salvation. The creation week was not over on the 6th day. God made a holy day of rest and worship on the 7th day. If you can find one verse in the 66 books of the Bible that says the 7th day of the week is no longer holy, but the first day of the week is holy now, I will give you one million $. Jesus rested and worshiped on the 7th day Sabbath. Hebrews 4 tells us "For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works." "There remains therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his." To believe what your saying will contradict u must be born of the water and the spirit. Here's where the major error is in 97% of those that preach from the bible and they all have the same thing missing from them. It's the reason u don't know the interpretation of John 3:8 or what everyone born of the spirit has in common with what it says in the scripture. It's not in the message u believe that's y u don't know it. The answer to the interpretation is in chapters 2, 10 and 19 of the book of Acts. He has brought to everyone an easy way to find the truth by showing the error and where to find the answer. It's your free will now to get the interpretation and it will show it is missing except from the copy cat and the trinity that's the other 2% of the false messages that are preached from the bible. U only have to believe one lie like Eve and Adam believed her. If someone told me I made a mistake I would check but the devil doesn't want u to so who are u going to listening to when u read the scripture and have no idea what the scripture means. U can't get the interpretation from anyone that believes what u do. If that's not enough for u to get the answer from God I don't know what will. Genesis 7
    Authorized (King James) Version
7 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. 2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. 3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. 4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. 5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him. 6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

How did saltwater fish survive in the lowered salinity, and how did freshwater fish survive in the increased salinity? Why is there fresh water when it was all salty at some point?

For fun, i did the math, and it would need about 4.5 times more water than exists in this solar system to cover mount Everest. Not that anything could possibly survive such an event. Not even fish (because of climate change and a mix of salt and fresh water and so on)

All religion that trace their origins to Noah need to face a very harsh reality. If you are of Western Roman-Greco thought and philosophy, there isn't even the slightest, remote, chance that you know what the Torah/Bible originally said. Now I know that you're going to argue that there are master theologians that have spent their entire lives researching and studying the scrolls and are the absolute authority on the matter BUT this cannot possibly be true and I'll tell you why.
During the Babylonian captivity, almost all of Israel was assimilated into the Babylonian society and their culture, traditions and thought were also assimilated. Their entire culture was lost and the only hope they had of recovering and rebuilding their culture was to rely on the texts retained by the Greek. However, the Greek, being of Western thought and philosophy has already sealed the fate of the interpretations, translations and the context of the scroll that they held. Never the less, the granted copies of these texts to the Israelites to assist in the reestablishment of the Hebrew culture. So, the Hebrews read them and incorporated the contents of the Greek copies and accepted them as being 100% accurate... and they were accurate. With one very significant difference. The Hebrews learned and received and accepted the translations, interpretations and the context of Western Philosophy when they should have been reading their scrolls from a Near Eastern perspective, thought and philosophy. For example: "In the Beginning". This usage of the word "beginning" implies "time", where we just presume that there is a beginning and a linear, straight line, progression to an end. This is true in Western thought but, in Ancient Near Eastern thought, "time" was perceived as an endless circle of "beginnings" and "ending", base of significant catastrophic events of destruction and restoration, exactly as is repeated in the Hindu Vedas and the Sumerian Enuma Elish.
Thus, a "day" was not a literal twenty four hour time period. This is why the Bible leads with the "evening" and then the "morning" were the first "day". The evening being the descent into destruction and chaos, while the morning was the rise back out of that chaos and into a time of restoration, prosperity and peace. Thus, the Morning was the reentry into "order", which also mean that Elohim never, ever, said "Let there be light". He said "Let there be ORDER". Now, this is merely the first part of chapter one and I could spend an entire day just breaking down the evolution of the Hebrew alphabet and culture to prove the point but the present Biblical narrative has been so thoroughly embedded into the human experience that tens of millions would fight to the death to defend the illusion that has been hammered into their minds for the past 2,500 years.
Seriously, we all have to admit that the majority of the stories coming from the Bible are very suspect and provides no explanation for any of it except that it "must be God's will" or "God has a plan" or "We cannot comprehend the wisdom of God" and the people just agree to not know because they were told that its wrong to question their god. Well, when you learn the ancient Hebrew alphabet, the language, the culture, the traditions and their simple nomadic philosophy, there are no more questions. However, at the same time, it must be understood that the ancient Near Eastern philosophy also has another very significant difference from that of Western Philosophy. In Eastern thought, they would have never, ever, in a million years, used an abstract concept in their thought, speech or writing and THAT changes everything. Abstract is a western form of thought that was asserted in the translations so that the Greek could wrap their heads around what the Hebrews were attempting to convey. Thus, the following are abstracts to consider; God, spirit, angel, demon, glory and eternity. None of these words ever existed in the Hebrew language.
Please, take the time to invest in your immortality and open your eyes. Although the Torah/Bible are a total abomination of translation, interpretation and context to have ever curse the earth, there is good news. Yes, there is an almighty creator of the all and, yes, there is a path to eternal life but you're not going to find it in the Torah/Old testament. In fact !! There is no such being as Satan and there never was. Your Messiah was also mistranslated and misinterpreted and His message was twisted and distorted to blind the people and conceal who they really are. Go through the New Testament over and over until it sinks in. He taught.... and taught..... and was often confused, perplexed and amazed that not one person knew or understood the "faith" that he spoke of. He demonstrated, time and time again, like a teacher and then He said "These things that I do, SHALL you do" and then drove the point home with "KNOW YE NOT THAT YE ARE GODS?" He never, ever, implied that you were supposed to pray to him and ask for this and that. He said "Do these things in MY NAME". Not in asking but by being like him, speaking like him, believing like him... to do these things in his character, as though you were the Messiah. YE ARE GODS !!! Act like it.
