Although I may have criticized some of these restaurants in a tiktok video for not using Kazakh, this does not mean that I do not support these restaurants. Kazakh people eat much less meat than British or German individuals, primarily due to its perceived poor quality and high cost. Even McDonald's imports meat from Russia to address quality issues. Thus, the notion that Kazakhs consume a lot of meat is likely a misconception.
I live in Almaty my whole life, never been to these fancy places. It is good to have bloggers who can show us those places.

@@Paramurasakiauyl is kinda a fancy place. The overall bill for one person is over 25-30$. So for Almaty in comparison that's a lot. But except for auyl, others places have an average check.

As a foreigner living in Almaty for the last 15 years I would agree that the prices increased significantly during the last 2 years especially after covid ended. Many foreigners also feel the price increase because even for the folks who earn their salary in USD due to dollar/tenge rate is very stable last 2 years and inflation is going up prices in USD also increased quite a lot. But still I think Almaty is one of the best places to live for a foreigner.

I was in Almaty last February but i don’t find it expensive. There are lots of affordable restaurants to eat, comfortable hostel to stay and a tasty local beer to drink that won’t cost you that much. The people I’ve meet in my Almaty journey are so kind. Some locals don’t speak english but they are very helpful they will take out their phone and use google translator just to help and that’s what i like the most. The taxi drivers always return change even if it’s only 1 tenge. They are very warm when it comes to visitors. I enjoyed so much my winter trip in Almaty and for sure i will come back to experience summer.

To be fair, spending somewhere around 10k to 20k is normal, if you're eating out and visiting places. Especially when some places were middle-to-upper class. But great vid nonetheless.

I have been in Platform A. It has great variety of choice. Pasta was great. I didn't see any oysters when I was there, but some day I will go there for that or other stuff.

It's mid at best. The same way the "Cafe park" or whatever it's called near the forum is. It's better to eat somewhere else, where you could get much better food. Or eat the same quality food for cheaper ngl.

@@marksharp5824 Yes! Best than in mooost of Coffeshops in Almaty. They accept online orders and also their desserts are in Flas Specialty Coffeeshops ☺️ Pear tart, chocolate tart, madeleines, almond croissants☺️
Those white flowers aren’t tulips but they’re called бәйшешек (they’re central Asian plants crocus) Typically the first flowers to bloom they thrive in snow and they signify the beginning of spring.
The purple ones are crocuses too🫶

Nothing too expensive. Almaty gives you many opportunities to earn just like Westerners while living in a cheaper environment. I was born here, so I had a head-start, but I've seen more than enough people coming here to become successful.

We ran through all the stairs in the mountains called 'Lestnitca zdoroviya' last Saturday, it was kinda hard, but still funny, 842 stair steps.
