Its one of my favorite commentary/study bibles...I totally understand that, I to don't consider myself "Pentecostal" but the studies and layout are excellent esp the TRUTH AND ACTIONS section at the end of each book. I'm poor as dirt myself man I totally understand, this one is worth trying save a few bucks up for. Try Christianbook.com ....they have lots of markdowns all the time and their prices are really good . Thanks sister, my intentions with this channel was to find quality low cost bibles so I do focus on construction more then overall content. Mainly folks want to know about the text readability and paper quality but what good is any of that if your pages and cover fall out in a month. These study bibles are usually the worst of the worst construction wise because paper and print is where the big money is spent on bible production. In the 90' glued text really started taking off and quality pummeled, tons of publishers began taking the cheap rout. Nelson was one of the worst during these years but many others did the same and people began taking notice. I'm super happy that Nelson is back on top, they listened to us customers and are IMHO top dog for finding quality bibles at affordable prices. Holman is also doing a great job and possibly the main publisher that caused others to start stitching their bibles again, even the cheapest Holman has Smyth Sewn bindings. I will always be a construction first guy cause glued bindings are like building a mansion on a sandy beach, those glued blocks are unable to withstand the storms of life.😉
There does need to be order in the church,. I've watched and experienced a close friend get delivered of anxiety, seisuers, despressionand also her eyesight completely healed. Today 4 years later still healed and a different person. Interesting thing was she was a baptist preachers kid. I will tell you the gifts are still active today within the body of Christ.
Amen, The "Strange Fire" videos by John McArthur have hammered a wedge between many wonderful Christians it IMHO was 20 years to late. The out of control mix of new age beliefs with Pentecostalism is needing to be stopped but throwing all spirit filled believers under that bus is wrong. They also link health and wealth TV preachers to the Pentecostal faith which is where most of the largest deceptions come from. I think the spirit that those videos and teachings were done in wasn't right😞 I do like John McArthur and other folks in his club of bros but I was a bit saddened to see them pretty much cut off a huge chunk of God fearing brethren from ever having fellowship with them over this now.
Airik1111 I understand what you are saying but there needs to be a middle ground. There is totally madness going on in churches at the moment and God is a God of order. Do I believe that God still heals today yes I do but somehow we think healing (and I mean bodily) is the fact that someone has got out of a wheelchair and is now using a stick. There is no where in the bible that you see this with Jesus and the disciples it was totally complete. Everyone and I mean everyone seems to be hearing for God it’s got to such a level that even if the pastor or anyone wants to speak to someone that maybe what they heard wasn’t from the Lord. People get angry. Even if what they heard contradicts God’s character and his word. People keep going on about new revelation really you mean that the God who revealed himself in the beginning and also told the middle and end has some new revelation and is going to do a new. You get people all the time talking about revival or that they can feel God. I would say I am glad that you woke up as the scripture makes it clear that where 2 or 3 are gathered he is there. Although I don’t agree with everything that John MacArthur preaches there are some things that he is right about. It’s like when you hear people calling themselves an apostle that’s totally madness because to call yourself that you would have to seen the risen Lord or be there when he was doing his earthly ministry which means nobody who is alive today is an apostle. Also people who call themselves prophet yea really let’s put it this way most if not all prophets in the bible were hated and some were killed because of it. They prophecies were highly detailed a study of the Old Testament proves this. It wasn’t this no sense prophecies that we get now it was generally judgement and correction and was usually directed at whole nations. When was the last time that happened and was clear and happened word for word in the nations that we live in. Now today people want to fall down in the spirit when the preacher touches them and then start shaking again Bible please or people speaking in tongues but there is no interpretation what is the point of that? I believe the person of the Holy Spirit is here and does move but there is also order and doesn’t bring about people barking like a dog and laughing for hours because what is the purpose of that?

Thank you so much brother, my daughter uses that bible she loves it. I prefer the first edition myself , it was way thinner and easier to pack around . They like to overload these study bibles now so they stay home on a shelf. The good ole days we packed them to church with papers and pages falling out.😉

@Sylvia The ESV gives you all of the views and let's the reader decide .... The ESV study bible is the most academically stuffed bible you can find. BUT it's done by calvinist so you will find some biased notes and teachings that lean that direction. But if you are a reformed calvinist then ya have no worries .
I have this Bible in the hardcover edition in KJV translation. Love it and agree with this review. I am in my 60s and not great vision and even though the print is not large by a Longshot I find it quite clear and dark and easy to read. I own many high end Bibles like Schuyler and Cambridge but find I pick up my hardcover Bibles the most. I am not Pentecostal but find this Bible doesn't emphasize that much and would certainly recommend

Between the *The Open Bible* VS *The Spirit Filled Life Bible* ...which is put together better with all the extras?? Naturally they are both THE bible...(so that in itself is always a good read! 😊) But I'm talking about the commentary, and all the little extras. Which of those two is richer in that aspect? Thanks! Spirit Filled Life bible has way more overall content , it's a true study bible. The Open bible shines because of that awesome topical encyclopedia...The studies are not much and commentary is only in areas where the studies are chain referencing throughout the text. I love both and I get more out of the Open bible because I personally like using topics on my own . ...I don't care much for lots of commentary and extra articles. My Daughter LOVES the Spirit Filled Life bible , she took both of mine ....She uses the original 1st edition handsize for church and the new big one at home at her desk.
It's one of the better study bibles ever made , it's a very unique design . The print is really good and it had almost no ghosting /show through of the text. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😉
I have this bible in black leather and I love it. I’m not Pentecostal, and I don’t agree with all the study notes, but that is normal with any study bible. I love the Word Wealth, Praying the Word and Kingdom Dynamics studies. And while I have my own doctrinal beliefs as a dispensationalist and regarding spiritual gifts, I love that they included alternate interpretations on doctrinal issues. I believe that every Christian should have a copy of this bible.

I have an ESV Study Bible but I only use it for reference purposes. Not being Reformed I find many of the study notes a little off base for my liking. But there is still a lot of good material in that bible.
I’m trying to decide between this study bible and David Jeremiah’s study bible. I like how DJ bible has the history and who wrote the book for each one. Does JH bible have the same? Having difficulty deciding.
Yes it has a good introduction to each book with Author, Dates, Themes , Keywords , Synoptics, Contents, Christ Revealed, Holy Spirit at work and personal application. Ive never seen the DJ bible so I cant compare the two that said out of all my "study bibles " I think the SFL bible is the easiest one to navigate with for bible study's . The TRUTH AND ACTIONS at the end of every book is awesome ... I think this new edition has some of the cleanest and readable text out there for a commentary/study bible.
Fantastik review Erik, I appreciated this. I bought the hard cover one but haven't used it much. I will be though. I really like the way you highlighted the need for the Christian to pray more 🙋🏻♂️ . I have the hard back and I've noticed that the page corners of mine are square cut whereas yours are round, I think the paper itself may be different. The paper in mine feels textured but it also feels quite vulnerable. I have recenlty moved to a pentecostal church (a very sensible one though - no snake handling lol) and I think I need to be much more open to the spirit in daily life. I'm hoping (and praying!!) that this bible will help me explore that. Great review brother. God bless. Lewis

That's my view also, I believe we need to seek the Holy Spirit in our walk but charismatic nonsense has caused many people to walk away and quinching the Holy Spirit in their lives. I walked away from the Pentecostal "church" because of that out of control behavior but, I'm still a Holy Spirit filled believer . Pastor David Wilkerson was calling out the nonsense many years ago, he had a very heavy heart over what was taking place within the church, I miss that good man and his teachings but we will see him again. It's a great bible , very awesome layout and print ... I'm not sure if they have a genuine leather version but if they do I'd get one of those instead. These imitation covers have gotten worse over the years and just don't last as long . I don't know why they don't use better material like feox leather . But if this is a bible you use just for study and don't pack around everywhere it should be ok. The binding is stitched that's what matters most .
Hi hello i just want to ask a question. I just want to buy this third edition but before that just to ask if the thickness of the paper thicker than the old one. Because I have an old one the paper is very thin and problem is I have sweaty palm hand and it will easy tear the paper in the Bible.. so i am planning to buy this new third edition if the paper is thick. It's probably a misprint on the site thats selling the bible. If it's the ISBN# 978-O-5291-0001-6 My box says 10PT font . It's an excellent print for a study bible it's one of the best I've seen. Usually they squeeze everything so tight that the readable takes a hit. This one stands out among the crowded market of study bibles. BUT I honestly wouldn't buy these fake leather covers , they are garbage and fall apart fast . I'd buy a genuine leather or hardback if I bought a new one. These cheesy fake covers will fall apart just sitting on the shelf , I've learned this with a few bibles from the past that i didn't even use much.
I have the KJV “Life in the Spirit” Bible, which I love (the study notes are great!) in a thumb-indexed genuine leather, & the ESV “Fire” Bible in the leather soft edition. It’s the update of the “Life in the Spirit” bible. I agree that the Nelson bibles are fantastic.
ZONDERVAN/ NELSONS Life in the spirit genuine leather is the real deal . The Fire Bible made by Hendrickson publishers in genuine I would not purchase. Their leatherbsoft is the way to go but their genuine leather bible should be pulled from shelves. The Hendrickson paper and print is amazing though, I just recommend people buy their imitation covers. Nelson bibles are really nice also BUT, their Smyth Sewn bindings on many of these new releases are way to lose . I hope they address this for future releases .
I hope they dont give it the same treatment as the Kjv Open Bible and make the print lighter . I have stopped making review vids at the moment but will be making videos again down the road. I love bible design but reviewing ruined my joy of sharing and has shook my trust in some professing Christians. That said I do have bibles to share and I have met wonderful people through making vids. Yet for my family and myself I had to take a break from it all. Thanks for watching my vids 😇 even though I've been gone I still love sharing and chatting with folks about bibles .

Yes they added prayer sections that are written by known teachers and preachers on certain popular readings points . They changed up the style and added more kingdom dinamics ...actually a lot more compared to the 1st edition.I like that they also added back the markers for Truth and Actions studies in the margins which they took out of the last edition . Its one of my favorite study bibles and holds a lot of wonderful memories of my early spiritual growth. I still like the 1st edition layout and style it was simple and not so loud, I feel like study bibles try to stuff to much into the text now. BUT out of the many study bibles out there the SFL bible and the Open bible still have a certain character and quality that separates them from the rest. Thanks for watching and the comment 😇

I did a review on the fire bible also...They are very different bibles, the SFL bible has unique study aids and is easier for me to follow. The commentary in the fire bible is more meaty but I think both bibles for a Pentecostal believer are worth having in your library.

Nelson and Zondervan are owned by Harper Collins so the NKJV and NIV usually end up being printed for both publishers study bibles. The last edition is relatively the same bible but if they do make the new one it will have the additional word wealth studies.
This gets asked a lot so sorry for a long answer . They ain't free believe me it comes with a price😉...I did vids for about 3 years reviewing bibles that I purchased and then once I gained subs I was able to get review copies . Unless you have a very large fan base getting them on a constant basis doesn't happen . When I began this about 5 years or so ago there were only a few folks doing them but now everyone wants to do reviews so publishers don't give copies out as much. Reviewing a bible means that you will have many questions so you literally become a spokes men or sales floor employee for that "free" bible. To begin a bible channel you will have to spend your own money and even getting copies is few and far between so to stay active ya gotta buy bibles. I can't do it anymore , so things for me have really slowed down. You have to email publishers actively and sometimes they respond but not often, if you have a channel and do reviews they might send ya one.

I’m trying to decide between this study bible and David Jeremiah’s study bible. I like how DJ bible has the history and who wrote the book for each one. Does JH bible have the same? Having difficulty deciding.
Yes it has a good introduction to each book with Author, Dates, Themes , Keywords , Synoptics, Contents, Christ Revealed, Holy Spirit at work and personal application. Ive never seen the DJ bible so I cant compare the two that said out of all my "study bibles " I think the SFL bible is the easiest one to navigate with for bible study's . The TRUTH AND ACTIONS at the end of every book is awesome ...
I think this new edition has some of the cleanest and readable text out there for a commentary/study bible.
I had the first and second edition and ordered this edition the other day. I love this Bible.

Fantastik review Erik, I appreciated this. I bought the hard cover one but haven't used it much. I will be though. I really like the way you highlighted the need for the Christian to pray more 🙋🏻♂️ . I have the hard back and I've noticed that the page corners of mine are square cut whereas yours are round, I think the paper itself may be different. The paper in mine feels textured but it also feels quite vulnerable.
I have recenlty moved to a pentecostal church (a very sensible one though - no snake handling lol) and I think I need to be much more open to the spirit in daily life. I'm hoping (and praying!!) that this bible will help me explore that.

That's my view also, I believe we need to seek the Holy Spirit in our walk but charismatic nonsense has caused many people to walk away and quinching the Holy Spirit in their lives. I walked away from the Pentecostal "church" because of that out of control behavior but, I'm still a Holy Spirit filled believer . Pastor David Wilkerson was calling out the nonsense many years ago, he had a very heavy heart over what was taking place within the church, I miss that good man and his teachings but we will see him again.

It's a great bible , very awesome layout and print ... I'm not sure if they have a genuine leather version but if they do I'd get one of those instead.
These imitation covers have gotten worse over the years and just don't last as long . I don't know why they don't use better material like feox leather .
But if this is a bible you use just for study and don't pack around everywhere it should be ok. The binding is stitched that's what matters most .

I just want to buy this third edition but before that just to ask if the thickness of the paper thicker than the old one. Because I have an old one the paper is very thin and problem is I have sweaty palm hand and it will easy tear the paper in the Bible.. so i am planning to buy this new third edition if the paper is thick. It's an excellent print for a study bible it's one of the best I've seen. Usually they squeeze everything so tight that the readable takes a hit. This one stands out among the crowded market of study bibles.
BUT I honestly wouldn't buy these fake leather covers , they are garbage and fall apart fast . I'd buy a genuine leather or hardback if I bought a new one. These cheesy fake covers will fall apart just sitting on the shelf , I've learned this with a few bibles from the past that i didn't even use much.
Does this version have personality profiles? And an intro to the different books?
Just got this Bible today but think it's a glued binding. Is your Bible that you reviewed glued as well?
The map in the back that says Jesus Ministry has the whip stitching ... If you have this exact bible its stitched.😉
I have the KJV “Life in the Spirit” Bible, which I love (the study notes are great!) in a thumb-indexed genuine leather, & the ESV “Fire” Bible in the leather soft edition. It’s the update of the “Life in the Spirit” bible. I agree that the Nelson bibles are fantastic.

The Fire Bible made by Hendrickson publishers in genuine I would not purchase. Their leatherbsoft is the way to go but their genuine leather bible should be pulled from shelves.
The Hendrickson paper and print is amazing though, I just recommend people buy their imitation covers.
Nelson bibles are really nice also BUT, their Smyth Sewn bindings on many of these new releases are way to lose . I hope they address this for future releases .

I hope they dont give it the same treatment as the Kjv Open Bible and make the print lighter . I have stopped making review vids at the moment but will be making videos again down the road. I love bible design but reviewing ruined my joy of sharing and has shook my trust in some professing Christians.
That said I do have bibles to share and I have met wonderful people through making vids. Yet for my family and myself I had to take a break from it all. Thanks for watching my vids 😇 even though I've been gone I still love sharing and chatting with folks about bibles .

Yes they added prayer sections that are written by known teachers and preachers on certain popular readings points . They changed up the style and added more kingdom dinamics ...actually a lot more compared to the 1st edition.I like that they also added back the markers for Truth and Actions studies in the margins which they took out of the last edition . Its one of my favorite study bibles and holds a lot of wonderful memories of my early spiritual growth.
I still like the 1st edition layout and style it was simple and not so loud, I feel like study bibles try to stuff to much into the text now. BUT out of the many study bibles out there the SFL bible and the Open bible still have a certain character and quality that separates them from the rest.

Have the Fire Bible, is this still worth it to buy?
I did a review on the fire bible also...They are very different bibles, the SFL bible has unique study aids and is easier for me to follow. The commentary in the fire bible is more meaty but I think both bibles for a Pentecostal believer are worth having in your library.

They had the NIV in this last edition so I'm sure its in their plans. Nelson and Zondervan are owned by Harper Collins so the NKJV and NIV usually end up being printed for both publishers study bibles. The last edition is relatively the same bible but if they do make the new one it will have the additional word wealth studies.

How do you get free Bible's???
This gets asked a lot so sorry for a long answer .
They ain't free believe me it comes with a price😉...I did vids for about 3 years reviewing bibles that I purchased and then once I gained subs I was able to get review copies . Unless you have a very large fan base getting them on a constant basis doesn't happen . When I began this about 5 years or so ago there were only a few folks doing them but now everyone wants to do reviews so publishers don't give copies out as much.
Reviewing a bible means that you will have many questions so you literally become a spokes men or sales floor employee for that "free" bible.
To begin a bible channel you will have to spend your own money and even getting copies is few and far between so to stay active ya gotta buy bibles. I can't do it anymore , so things for me have really slowed down.
You have to email publishers actively and sometimes they respond but not often, if you have a channel and do reviews they might send ya one.
I’m not a big fan of the paragraph format
