I love those beautiful moments where you get a skill that synergizes really well. The obvious example is fremen with planetologist that gives them permanent ornithopters. A personal favourite of mine is the rihani decipherer as tleilaxu. That extra shuffling of facedancers is great. I once used it to get a new facedancer by revealing the old one, and then when using my ability, redrew the leader I had just revealed. That poor harkonnen didn't see it coming.
Leader skills is one of the greatest addition, i wish the stronghold cards would be as significant as the leader skills but I do love them anyway, anything that spices up a game while conserving balance as much as possible le is the way to go imo. I love when games tell stories!
I did not play them yet in my group since there are already so mnay effects to consider, but they look great fun. I will certainly introduce them in our next game! 😁👍
Quick question regarding worthless cards and the Warmaster leader skill. Do you have to discard the worthless card played in the battle plan or can you hold on to it to use it for the strength buff in other battles, or to use as a Karama when you're bene gesserit or special ability when CHOAM?
I understand that if a leader dies, you lose that leader skill with it. What happens if Hark captures that leader? Can Hark utilize its leader skill? If yes, both in battle with that leader and leaving it in front to benefit other leaders? In either case, could it in theory be compounded with Hark's own leader skill as well?
@@GreenAntennas hark can’t leave the leader out front. They can use the leader once in a battle, and if it survives, use that skill. But then it is returned.
@@jackredathewarp thanks! By the way, don't you know if there any sort of rule refernce available online? Got a second-hand game, found some printed stuff, don't know if it's purely homebrew or some sort of replacement based on actual limited cards or smth like that
@@jackredathewarp oh, sorry, didn't see the answer and only just realised it was you actually answering the comments 😅 Thanks, though not quite what I meant. For example, I have a printed treachery card called "Semuta", and according to the printed text, it reduces the power of leader by 1 every turn. I couldn't find any analogue of it in the actual game, and neither have I found any sort of reference to it, so I was curious whether it's purely homebrew, or you have some sort of small hidden promo card stash. The ideas are pretty curious in my opinion, however, so if you wish, I could forward those to you

How do you deal leader skills when there are more than 7 players in the game (because normally 2 are dealt to chose from)?
You could do waves. Have some players choose but not reveal anything until all players have their skills.

If you win a battle, you do not have to discard worthless cards.

Is it possible to assign a leader card to Kwisatz Haderach for Atreides?
No.

@@NikitaIgnatyev-vo5vh Never seen that. There is a Semuta Drug card in the CHOAM and Richese expansion, but a very different effect.
