As someone who first really started to get into MtG around Mirrodin, the two decks that always, without fail, make me want to eliminate that player first, even if they're two tables over and a different format, is Slivers and Artifact decks.
What's worst, despite how good it is, sliver players are now thinking about running gravemother as the commander with this to potentially give all their slivers (assuming 4 player game and you arent dead to spiky worms) TRIPLE cascade.

@davidhowell1415 Yeah i think the area you are talking about is around the ice age era(1995). Great era for game play. I liked 1.5 around the urza block era. 1998 era. I remember the first time i played against the slivers in the first Mirrordin trilogy sets. My opponent made sure I was surrounded by turn 5 and made sure to bring the rest out to show his collection in that hive mind deck. Then I read the trilogy books and lost my shit when I read the Sliver parts, cause I knew what was gonna follow up next.
I love the insane gambling version of this deck I like to call "The First and Only Sliver" Where the only other spells in the 99 are Tibalt's Trickery and a Cultivator Colossus. The rest are lands with ETB effects and gates with Maze's end.
Just remember along with this lovely little boy. slivers have the beautiful combo of "sliver overlord + ameboid changling = hey I can steal you dragon"
This reminds me of the end of '97 when there were only 2 decks. A Sliver deck and an anti-sliver deck which ran 4 copies of Extinction 4 copies of An-zerrin Ruins.
Also just want to add the fact that if you cast a sliver and then cascade into another sliver that cascades as well. Also all changelings are slivers too so you dont even need to be casting real slivers.
@Tom Across America “Cascade” means “When you cast this spell, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card whose mana value is less than this spell’s mana value. You may cast that card without paying its mana cost if the resulting spell’s mana value is less than this spell’s mana value. Then put all cards exiled this way that weren’t cast on the bottom of your library in a random order.” Read the rules before trying to correct someone. The card you cascade into is cast. This means that if you cascade into a card with cascade, that spell will also cascade. This is why things like Teferi Time Raveler, and Lavinia Azorius renegade stop cascade cards since Teferi will stop them from casting the spell at instant speed and Lavinia counters spells that were cast without paying mana.
