Here's some tips: 1. you can press the escape button after saving the game. This way once the loading bar finishes the game starts instantly after and it doesn't pause. 2. With a simple maneuver you can instantly stop any moving train. Works from anywhere, no radar sight needed. Pick a station you want the train to stop at, make a temporary stop ahead of the train stop, make sure the train is still moving trough the wanted stop and that it is not slowing down, when the train is about to pass the desired station make the train go to that desired station just before it is passed, the train will quickly slow down faster than normal, lastly remove the temporary stop. 3. My most important tip to beginners is: down be afraid to use console commands or cheaty mods. Not all stages of the game will appeal to a player if you want to spawn into your inventory some belt's because you don't want to wait: that is fine. Or if you want a big megabase, but you don't have the ups for a big base, just get your ores from infinity chests, mine building has allways been factorios worst lategame aspect.
The last tip can be reformulated to be the best tip to anybody in every game: when a game offers tools to make it more fun, use them!

A lot of people suggest the assembler surrounded by beacons. Not one of them bothers to explain why you shouldn't just add more assemblers and should rather use exorbitant modules.
@@Trupen Is this some great secret ? Is there an exclusive club that requires you to do this ? A call for help ? Bragging rights ? Because right now it feels like factorio big guys showing off their pure gold toilet lid with encrusted diamonds : okay it's luxurious and fancy as heck but still... Why ?
@@Gronnragthe faster one assembler works - the less assemblers. The less assemblers - the less lag. The less lag - the more assemblers you can build without overloading your pc. It is a megabase strategy. The game is utterly optimized, but it is also deterministic (for multiplayer). So people find a way to squease more production in.
Speed beacons can actually save power and when using productivity modules, and uses fewer total modules, and for the really huge bases, fewer machines means less lag. If you use solar power, generating electricity adds no lag, while each assembler and inserter adds a tiny bit, which adds up if you're trying to make a thousand of each science per minute. I just checked in the calculator ─ without modules (excluding rocket silo), it literally takes over 10x the number of assemblers, and more than twice the raw materials. It actually uses less power with productivity modules and speed beacons than with no modules, and compared to using just level one efficiency modules in everything, only 2-3 times the power. Productivity modules pay off their raw material costs in under an hour for many recipes when boosted with beacons, and building a facility to produce modules will pay off the player time investment compared to building more standard production facilities, and moving to new ore deposits more frequently.
I've actually calculated speed per tile and a boring 8-beacon sandwich seems to be more efficient than using 10 or 12 beacons if fully packed in one direction. Personally, I _hate_ 8-beacon sandwiches. It makes me feel obligated to cram machines directly next to each other rather than direct insertion between machines or fancy belt layouts.
Do not make nuclear train fuel before having kovarex enrichment. One uranium 235 is enough to make 10 uranium fuel cells, which last you a long time; but you get only one nuclear fuel for each uranium 235 and it takes 4 nuclear fuel to fully fuel a single locomotive.
Word of the day: Furnejsys 😉 (Furnaces) It's the most polish english i heard 😉 Btw i wonder if native english speakers are able to easily understand you (i hope so). Good job Trupen 😁 (Podziwiam, że masz odwagę mówić, wiedząc, że Twój angielski nie jest perfekcyjny. Ja się zawsze boję, że coś źle wypowiem. Szacun ziom.)
I think one of the biggest flaws of Factorio is that it has no vanilla support to figure out ratios and doing it manually is a nightmare with all the different base craft speeds, craft times, output amounts, productivity and speed modifiers. I'm normally not a fan of mods for games because often mod creators have no clue what the ramifications of their "minor qol improvement" are, but using the "Max Rate Calculator" was a game changer for me because you can just draw a box around production buildings and it tells you how many of each material they are able to take per second and how many they spit out per second.
I remember using the crafting trick to cut down entire forests in one go back when processed wood was a thing, then going back to the base and making the server shit itself and timeout my friends by cancelling it all at once and dropping thousands of wood on the floor (and sometimes random conveyors if they were too close). Good times.
0:34 - Waiting for 40 Light Green Rocks makes it even worse... 0:41 - As soon as you have 255 (Light Green Rocks) you can start using Nuclear power. Your math needs some work, why wouldn't you build 2 or 3 Enrichment plants (not 13 like in this video) and get those 255 Light greens even faster? You have to sit around waiting for the first 40 like you said, so spending that time building some enrichment plants is "wasting time" ?? Keep in mind it takes at least 1 Uranium Fuel Cell per Power Plant to even warm up the plant to the right level, so you need a minimum of 2 per to get started and then you need 1 per every 200 seconds
as soon as you make your first, single U-235 green rock you can use it as a fuel, because 1 U-235 can make 10 fuel cells (14 if you use prod modules) which will last you 200s * 10 fuels = 2k seconds which is 33 minutes! So to sustain one reactor with enough fuel you just need to make 1 Light green rock called U-235 every 33 minutes. To do it you need just 2 uranium miners and 1 centrifuge for processing the ore or even less if you use prod modules to make fuel. This is why you can easily run power plant making you GW of power with just few miners and centrifuges from the very first light green rock. At some point you will need to use kovarex, but you can do it with nuclear power already running :)
@@Trupen DOH, for some reason I never noticed that it makes 10 at a time. Totally my bad. Guess it explains why I end up with a crapload of Fuel Cells.
ONe thing; I think you're wrong about the Coal Liquifaction --> Solid Fuel being more efficient than Coal. I spent a few hours setting up this huge facility once to intake coal to do just that. A self-contained loop with circuit-logic to prevent it from getting stuck by producing too much of one fluid. Then once i set it up and it was running I was super proud of it, then while it was working I did the math. You end up with less energy from the liquifaction than you would if you had just burned the coal, and that's not even mentioning that you are using some of this energy to create the solid fuel in the first place, so the math isn't even a true picture of the energy loss, but it is actually significant. It's more efficient to just burn the coal, but then the problem becomes supplying your steam boilers with coal cos it just gets devoured once you have more than 2 boiler stacks. Thos whole concept makes sense when I fucking realised too. How can you process something to generate more energy than it had before? You can't. That's a real-world thing, but the way coal liquifaction has been made to work in Factorio does follow this. To this end, I can't actually think of any good uses for coal liquifaction. It's a good source of lube and some extra light oil to go into solid fuel or petrol, but you need to use that fuel/petrol to create things. Don't burn it the fuel, or make more fuel with the petrol and burn that cos you've actually just lost energy in the liquifaction process. So i think coal liquifaction is best used to make lube then the leftover petrol goes into plastic and the leftover light oil goes into rocket fuel for the rocket/satellite
@Rosaslav yea making use of the oil in another process is what I'm getting at. Don't use Coal Liquefaction to create Solid Fuel. Use it for other processes that need light/heavy oil or petrol that are not solid fuel production. Use the heavy oil for lube. Use the light oil for rocket fuel. Use the petrol for plastic.
