    Thanks for sharing your grief even tho it’s hard. I lost my lil sis in 2018. I find it so comforting knowing about more people who are grieving

      hi courtney - so sorry for the slow reply, and so sorry as well for your loss. it is such a strange thing to go through, and it's so nice to know there are people who relate!

    Such a great year of knitting, with such good variety. Absolutely love the first sweater you showed with the waves, it looks like a perfect yarn choice for the pattern

    Thanks for sharing all your insights and trying everything on! I really like all the knitting choices you made. Yes, as we keep learning along the way, I feel it is definitely worth taking the time to redo / rework pieces so we customize and love them even more.
    I'm looking forward to watching your podcasts and your journey over 2023. I especially love that you want to knit more thoughtfully, I'm in that space too. I've started knitting more complex long patterns and also more fingering weight things so I get to enjoy the process longer.
    Cheers for now :)

    I think that first vest you tried on looks super cute on you! And the B&L cardigan is an absolute inspiration. It's such a classic looking garment but the small details really make us appealing. That tapered neckband, especially! And the colorway you chose.

    thank you for another lovely video! so enjoyed your thoughts on knitting speed // why it makes sense as a craft to turn to when burnt-out or low energy - will definitely be mulling that over re: my own knitting.
    I'm sat here working on my Marit (almost finished the first body repeat!) which is really making me re-negotiate the speed i expect myself to finish a garment !

    Hi Claire, I totally love all your knits! I'm currently knitting a Tonn sweater myself but I'm doing the open waves option. Yours is looking so cute on you and your colour combination looks very classy. I might be tempted to knit it again and choose the dense waves with the colour choice you made. Your thoughts on all the details of the final objects are very interesting.
    My dad passed away in 2014 and it took me three years until it got better. Don't put yourself under pressure. It takes as long as it needs but of course it is a challenging time. Knitting is one of your super powers and having found that space is priceless. Sending you lots of love from Bavaria, Germany!

    Hi Claire, thanks for the video I really enjoy watching your channel and your knits are always an inspiration! I completely relate to what you’re saying at the end. Knitting is also for me a space I « hide in » when I want to do something mindless to let go of some of the daily anxiety. And I think that’s ok. None of us knows how we will feel next week, and when we need we can just embrace doing what we’re told by a pattern if that’s what our mental health needs in the moment 😊.

    I think you've made some really gorgeous and practical knits. IMO, you really should wear the Daily Pullover because it looks better on you than on just about anyone else (and I've scrutinized the photos, because I'm insane when it comes to fit and I've made it too). I really didn't love that pattern - found its drafting suspect (though not on you!). FWIW, I don't think that yours is too short - it's actually a lovely length and I say that as a person who tends to like longer fit. Def rip it back to lengthen, even though it's gonna mean pulling out the sewn bind off. I'm not a fan of tubular bind offs (takes forever, the look doesn't thrill) but I've certainly ripped them back often enough to know that it's worth it if you will wear the garment when it's longer. Just do a regular bind off next time, till you're sure you're going to be happy with the new length.

    • @purlwise.knitting
      @purlwise.knitting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you, kristin! i love doing a sewn bind off for the look and process, but you can't even see it in this black yarn anyways, haha. you're all inspiring me to rip it back, which is great! thanks for watching :)

      @@purlwise.knitting Sorry. You keep saying they were too short. After the first one, I would have measured my desired length or ultimate reach and knit within that range based on the type of yarn and if the yarn is known for draping or if it tends to shrink. C'est moi. C'est pas grave!
