It's equal to or worse than the Nikon Z camera's and Sony camera's CIPA numbers. Also the mechanical shutter of 12fps is disappointing since the 1Dx Mark III can do 16fps!

At 12:26, yes in theory the readout speed is 25% better than the A9ii, however the A9ii has less distortion, and the ball would look more rounded. Why is that? It's simple and Sony mentioned that in their presentations: the A9 has extra circuitry that does rolling shutter distortion compensation. So even with a slightly worse readout speed, it's able to produce better results.

As always love me some fro. 30% lighter, not 70%. The battery has 25% more capacity than this used in the R5/R6. But the R5 & R6 can hold 2 batteries if you have the grip. So 1.5X more then an R3
As far as the silent shutter sound option for this camera, you know what would be pretty cool? An option to change the sound of the shutter. I tend to find the shutter sounds in other camera brands vey satisfying to hear.
Some corrections regarding your A1 comparisons: A1 lossy raw is 13 bit, not 12 bit; A1 anti-dust shutter will also stay open in silent mode; A1 lossless raw is only 60MB (shooting uncompressed 120MB raws is pointless). And apparently, for some reason, most Sony shooters don't use a grip.
I think the extended viewfinder could help people that have certain prescriptions on their glasses. I know it would help me from smudging the back screen with my nose.
Yeah. One of things that make mirrorless cameras more appealing to me. I can't look through the viewfinder without squishing my nose on the screen on DSLRs. Not a problem, really, just a nice to have.
@@riothero313 i sometimes do that too on my nikon dslr, but it doesnt create as much of a gap as the protruding EVFs do, and it just makes me uncomfortable having my screen out like that, especially since my screen is getting squeaky around the hinge.

I’m on a 80D, and have similar thoughts. Though in my case, looking at a new, primary, non-professional camera body, I’m waiting for these features (but dual CF, split card is silly), with R5 body/resolution. I love the end of the fake video time limit (about d@&! time). I don’t need 30fps, and not willing to pay significant premium for it. But all the rest, yes, I want and will pay. Here is to hoping R5 Mark II has better design/thermal mgmt, and incorporates the AF improvements from the R3
I tried a Fuji X-T4 for 2 months and it just wasn't strong enough in video performance and video autofocus for me to keep it. Even though it has a great movie / still switch that separates the video settings from the video settings. The R3 does everything I wished the X-T4 would have done, including 6k video with excellent continuous video autofocus. Because I want to shoot a little wider so I can keyframe my rotation and position and scale and export to 4k. So now I know what the price tag on that performance is and why the X-T4 just doesn't match that level of performance.

And by the time the R1 comes out, I presume that the A1 II would be right around the corner.
Before that, Sony may also first release the A7IV and A9III, so Canon always has something to worry about.
The auto flicker detection is actually super useful
I’m just here for the sniff test 👃🏾 😮💨
As always love me some fro. 30% lighter, not 70%. The battery has 25% more capacity than this used in the R5/R6. But the R5 & R6 can hold 2 batteries if you have the grip. So 1.5X more then an R3
As far as the silent shutter sound option for this camera, you know what would be pretty cool? An option to change the sound of the shutter. I tend to find the shutter sounds in other camera brands vey satisfying to hear.
The Z9 is supposed to come with adjustable shutter sounds 😂😂
30MP is the sweet spot for me. Wish they bumped it a bit
What you just said about the R6 is why I signed up for the giveaway
@@sahilmeena8018 Oddly it's one of the reasons I flip my screen out to the side lol.
@@riothero313 i sometimes do that too on my nikon dslr, but it doesnt create as much of a gap as the protruding EVFs do, and it just makes me uncomfortable having my screen out like that, especially since my screen is getting squeaky around the hinge.
Excellent video!! I only have one question... Can it be used for landscape photography also or should I stick to the R5?
No issue i Believe, but you will pay for features you don't need if your focus is in landscape, imo keep with R5
Damn. I want all these features (especially the focusing system), and I want to upgrade from my 10 y/o 600D, but I don't quite want to spend this many thousands of Euros on them.
No shit when u spend more money u get better specs
Golden buzzer for Jared. For the next song I request MEMORIES FROM CATS:
"Memory
Turn your face to the moonlight
Let your memory lead you
Open up enter in
If you find there
The meaning of what happiness is
Then a new life will begin."
The card choice... I bet, is related to repurposing the R5 mainboard.
Very helpful, thanks bro!👌💯
Canon is making me want to sell off all my Nikon gear
That’s what I did last year when I picked up the 1DX3…
Do it! Absolutely do it! I’m so happy I’ve switched from Nikon to Canon years ago!
Ok, give me your stuff! My D750 will be happy!
@Crop In Shot mainly the FPS and auto-focusing capabilities because I mainly do wildlife photography for work (occasionally portraits) but really I just like newer stuff haha. I'm perfectly happy with my D500 as of now.
@@UweRoclawski lol, speaking of the D750 ...one of my photography buds just upgraded to the D850 and she told me that she much preferred the D750 and regretted upgrading
Great review. Thank you. Did you try the eye autofocus whilst wearing glasses?
