Thanks a lot guys, I just followed your video to the letter in order to access the CPU/GPU and re apply thermal paste given it was 5 years ago I'd bought this thing. What little of the paste was left had dried up entirely, no wonder the CPU was creeping up to 90c under load! She now sits comfortably at 70c under load, even after a few hours, and the GPU peaks at a measly 65c!
I bought a fan for Dell XPS 17 and when i open laptop just like in this video, i saw that the fan i bought its a bit smaller then the original (broken) one. Anything i can do about this? And yeah, on amazone when i bought it said its for this laptop. Thank you, great video tho.
Hi I'm thinking to buy an l702x but the gforce gt550m isnt powerfull enough for me. So i would be really grateful if you could confirm if the graphics card replaceable in this laptop or not. Thanks.
You are instructing to remove the wireless card (2:13 to 2:18), but at 2:28 it is still inside. Why would you remove the card? Apart from that, great video, thank you :)
Do you really have to remove the screen and wireless card? can't you just fold the screen before turning it over to remove the bottom? or are the screws for the screen also holding the bottom? Thinking of cleaning my heat sink, but it looks intimidating.
Even as a IT guy i find it difficult to do this. I was at 2:38 but the screws were so stuck I couldn't get them out by hand. So I decided to put it back together, I guess I need a drill or something to get them loosened?
We hit the same problem, eventually using a power tool to get both the pressure on the screws and torque to get it loose. We were lucky, the screws did get loose.

YES!! I just saved $90 by doing this myself. Thanks SO much for posting it :) It wasn't fun watching in reverse, but it's doable.
Thank you for making this video. It was very helpful in getting everything done without the stress of wondering if I've got it all right!
This is a great video. worked like a charm. Please add a put it back together just as detailed AND show size of screws at each step.
it's easy been doing this for years! I didn't even have a video to start with, I just changed cracked dc jack port
At 3:40, you don't have to remove the screws and the DC jack, just move the wire outside of the fan and you are good to go.
Thank you so much! This was incredibly helpful for cleaning out the fan.
Thank you. best video for disassembly L702x

can you show, how to put the parts back?
+Prashanth R Watch the video backwards. Basically just undo everything you did to take it apart.

+fanneinkinavn The screen and the wireless card are attached to the middle frame which has to be removed, thus they have to be removed.
