    They could create a Node similar to mat library and when you open it it's almost equivalent to HyperShade or Max's Slate Editor, you can right click on nodes and assign to selection, select by material, have multiple materials in a single window and all that nice stuff.
    Idk, the Houdini's material system feels like it was designed for scenes with no more than 10 unique materials which makes sense for a soft that's started as primarily VFX/Simulation software but it's used for completely opposite things too, large and complex scenes with hundreds/thousands of unique mats so I guess it's time for SideFX to overhaul those most used tools/features.
