When I first started Fpv lol 5-6 years ago let’s say when I first started using Goggles and free styling fairly well. Let’s just say you would have thought my neighbors seen a real UFO for the first time. 4 neighbors houses. I see threw the goggles there all outside watching looking up. Asking what’s that loud sound. I didn’t know if I was in trouble or they where interested lol. Well they where very interested. Now Everytime I fly or go outside. You can see them all waiting to see if I’m gonna fly today.. there little kids just love it to death.. Great stuff for sure.. it made me wanna fly more. Nowdays I’m just bored with it.. need to turn it into a job. When I’m not framing houses Mon-Sat
I've flown both the Chimera 7 and Moz7, the Moz7 has a better stock tune and the frame is WAYY easier to work on than the Chimera 7 - for that reason the Moz7 has become my mainstay long-range quad. They both cost the same direct from manufacturer when I bought them.
My gep rc MOZ7 free-falled from an altitude of 1000 meters. When it reached the ground, only the battery was deformed and the GPS antenna was thrown off. Everything else was intact.
remember, the new chimera comes with the newest M10 GPS and fixes the "issue" you mentioned joshua. i got average of 27 sats right after plugging a lipo in on a warm start for the iflight M10. it should be very comparable to the good GPS on the GEPRC quad. nice review! that chuckle after crashing it 😂
oh really? i thought you had the old white GPS. the new is black outside. at 32:33min you are holding both quads in the camera and the left iflight GPS is the older version. thats why i thought your chimera didnt have the BLITZ M10 😅 my bad if you just use that as reference only but flew the new version. oh and yes outside asia could be a problem. since i am living in china i cant confirm that but i will ask around. a friend in australia have some quads with the new M10. @@JoshuaBardwell i visited the GEPRC factory many times before and they improved alot. but you right saying we need to decide ourselves which 7" we prefer. they are very close to each other. i stick to iflight. cheers°🥳

As far as I can tell, both the Chimera and the Moz7 use 2809 motor. GEPRC 1280 kv, iFlight 1250kv. At least that's what the ones that GEPRC and iFlight sent me have. You can check the product listings to verify it.
I can say for a fact that the 03 lense scratches easy. Especially after turtle mod’ing in the sand at OBX and sand blasted the lense. Props out on those 3.5” sand rippers for now on. Awesome review JB. 👍👍🇺🇸
Sup Bo, i knew you would be here watching this seeing as how we are about to build two of these monsters. These are not the droids you are looking for! hahahaha i wish he would review the the one i recommended we build, the GEP-LC75 or Croc75 as it's known, it has more room inside than these. but good to see you doing research on these, i been at it for a solid week now and still can't make up my mind as to the way i want to go.
Just built a 5inch on the gepMK5 squashed X 5inch frame with Mr steels rates/pids and fettec stack...... Best drone ive flown in years I love GEPRC been flying on their frames since 2018.
Yea, the CP antenna is weaker head on. But its almost 100% omnidirectional while the LP is very sensitive to alignment. At30deg misalignment of LP antennas you have same signal strength and the CP stays at the same while the LP continues to fall...
Joshua really hoping you do more videos on larger quads. I have been looking into the GEPRC EF10 as a drone for carrying fishing baits because of size and price. Large quads are so versatile. Banger vid tho. Your stuff is great!
Having the control link antennae at the front on an LR quad makes sense. If you're gonna have a restriction on range due to antenna placement you want the restriction on the way out. With a front mounted control antenna s soon as you turn around to come "home" your signal is likely to get better.
Try 1x LHCP and 1x RHCP antenna on the drone, compare that to dual LHCP as well as a single tall dual linear from FlyFishRC. The DJI goggles v1 antennas were LHCP (2 notches on the antenna tip) but the v2 goggles came with dual band linear (3 notches on the antenna tip) and very similar to the antennas DJI is using on the Goggles2/Integra. Regarding ND filter on the O3 I find that an ND16 is almost always too much and the ND8 is the most used filter I have. I actually need another one and an ND4 if I can find one. If I had this drone I would throw away that plate over the O3 sdcard and usb access and just use black electrical tape. Otherwise it looks like a good workhorse.
hello Brandon. What is the point of using 1LHCP 1RHCP antenna? Isn't the loss of both polarization is the same when they are matched with linear antennas on the goggles?
Awesome video as always man! What connectors are needed to convert from the stock DJI O3 Antenna to 2 SMA Adapters, like on the new GEPRC Moz7 here. Is it just two seperate U.FL Antenna ports? Does the DJI O3 Air Unit actually use U.FL Antenna connectors? I heard it was proprietary, called IPEX, but then i see it listed for sale as, "U.FL/IPEX to SMA Antenna Lead." Also do you see a noticeable difference in increased range, when using these twin external full size SMA antennas on the DJI O3 vs a 5" Freestyle Build with a stock DJI O3 Antenna on it?
you should power up both quads at the same time for GPS comparison. also, I see the back arms are a little different in length, that could have a durability note as well. I would by this one over the iflight one if would have to buy again.
Hey, thanks for the awesome presentation! I gotta say, you've got me seriously considering pulling the trigger on this drone. But, I've still got a couple of lingering questions that didn't quite make it into your review. So, here goes: What's the deal when the signal goes MIA? I'm curious if this drone's got a knack for going up, up, and away to reconnect, or if it's more of a backtrack and return kind of deal. See, I love cruising with my DJI FPV in the Alps, and every now and then, it goes radio silent. The DJI FPV usually goes on a little vertical adventure to reestablish the connection, but I'm not sure if this drone does the same. If it doesn't, we might have a head-on collision situation with obstacles, right? And then, here's the second head-scratcher: If I slap an 8000 mAh battery and a GoPro on this bad boy, will I have enough wiggle room to adjust the GoPro angle for that perfect shot at top drone speed?
i have this frame (Custom build) , i have found two issues on this frame, arms are not rigid enought, try to "bend" them and you will know what im talking about, but ive found a workaround and now they are really good. Other thing is screws from Arms are too short, i had to use bigger screws on arms. apart from that it seems a very good frame :) love it
I'm positive the GPS on your Chimera 7 is the M8, not the m10. Both the iFlight M8 and M10 GPS units have a compass, but you have to add the SDA and SCL wires to the plug. I don't think iFlight wants people to use the compass with Betaflight because it's really glitchy.
I was thinking if I could put two FPV cameras on there(if dji or Walksnail get as good as go pro) then someone else can ride along to see how it’s recording or could ride along for a third persons view of set up that way. Anyway my point is the FPV style camera is lighter and you could stack them attach one to the bottom one to the top of the frame. the weight would be balanced. Instead of a honking GoPro on the top of the quad it would be a small camera. I don’t know thought I was having about it. I’m not sure if you can double up the tx rx the draw power from two places or need a flight controller that does two cameras at once.
excellent review as always mr. JB! as an aside to this can the protective side panels be removed in order to shave excess weight? as they seem to be slip-in over the aluminum standoffs only. cheers!
almost 40 seconds at full speed ! those 7 inches feel so athletic compared to 5 inchers. They effortlessly take altitude, and this is subjectively reinforced by the sound difference due to larger props. at 130 km/h the aerodynamics start to matter so maybe it's good thing to have those annoying sideplates. Maybe they just need to be redesigned to incorporate silicon inserts (like gopro to access usb) for maintenance. It would look professional without requiring a screwdriver.
Hi Josh, WoW ! A Moz 7, very nice. But I don't have DJI googles ? I have don't know if I like the side plates, I heard the 03unit runs hot, so I'm not sure if covering the 03. There are stl files on thingiverse for the Quadmula bushings that clamp down on tpu that you were trying to find the other day on your livestream. I have their 3" so I have the aluminum ones of theirs, but I 3d printed some out of PETG and you can clamp down on them pretty good without tearing the TPU. They aren't as good as metal, but seem good enough for the job.
Ok, I have no clue about batteries, and am trying to learn, read a bunch of stuff about Li-on vs. Li-po, get the charging time difference, but they don't focus on discharge, This drone company sells a Li-On battery for it, my question is; If flying long range would it benefit at all from the same rated V and mAh Li-po battery? Thank you for good videos. My moz7 has a problem that the current consumption(mAh) is not displayed properly. Is yours the same? Even after flying for 10 minutes, it is said that only 400mAh has been consumed, and the current consumption does not change despite the change in the Throttle.

Hi Joshua! Do you have maybe some method to get the full betaflight dvr recorded in Googles V2 with the O3 unit? I don't have them rooted and I heard that if I updated the fw of O3 and V2 so they can work together, I won't be able to root the devices and get the DVR. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
I'm telling you. I will always stay at the field to watch a pack ran on a 7 inch platform, micros are so easy to fly as an established pilot. It takes actual skill to fly some weight. Just my opinion
20:45 I vehemently disagree with this. It's disorienting for you to fly with that much motion blur, and it actually *does* make it disorienting to watch. But that is what pilots are going for, because then people who watch their videos go "oh wow, I could never fly like that, I would just get dizzy and crash" when really that's only because of the added motion blur. And I guess you don't know this, but the Moz7 comes with an M10 GPS and it's fairly normal for them to get 25+ satellites.
Thanks JB you’re a champion you have helped so much over the years not only with quads but all aspects of RC. Stay strong brother. 🗡👍

I purchased the Moz 7 about a month ago and I can confirm that it flies perfectly, the best 7 inch on the market to date in my opinion!!!
For the GPS mount what I have started doing is adding clear heatshrink around the gps and the tpu mount, keeps it in place during a crash

Thank you for good videos. My moz7 has a problem that the current consumption(mAh) is not displayed properly. Is yours the same? Even after flying for 10 minutes, it is said that only 400mAh has been consumed, and the current consumption does not change despite the change in the Throttle.
What the diference between moz7 analog,dji o3,HD O3???😢😢
Why is the luminier qav s 2 using hard mounting for the fpv camera? Isn't that exactly what Joshua doesn't like 🤦♂️
I use a 3d printed mount.
Great video man! Could it fly well with the 8000mah li-ion battery from iflight?
Yes for sure just like the chimera. Geprc is also making this 8AH battery, they say it flies for 20min w gopro or 30 w/o
Did it survive when you crashed it at the beginning? I guess yes but did it get damaged or no? Thanks!
What’s that one small drone your favourite
nice choise of music
Hi, what esc unit does the GEPRC moz7 HD use?
Hey if anyone can help I have a moz7 and I needed to send the 03 air unit in for repair an now I’m not able to get it mounted back to the heatsink/mount. The screws don’t seem to be long enough to bite and I’ve tried removing the bottom plate and still nothing. Getting super frustrated because idk what’s different now but I can’t get it mounted. PLEASE HELP
Yep can do a lot more with a 7 inch over a little 5 inch 🎉
Does the dji integra goggles supports liftoff simulator with the Tx16s Elrs version of transmitter. If yes help me
Bro any a
Idea on this
The Goggles Integra have no way to input video from an external source.
I've broken the bottom plate of the Moz7 like 3 times, and exactly zero arm breakage.
impressive, especially since it's a 7"
@@ozruul77 Everything is thick on the frame, so naturally the thinnest plate has to give in. which happens to be the bottom.
I can get 1.5kg payload with chimera 7 to 9km and back without it easily here in Ukraine 😊
I think I see what ur meaning in that case LOL
Is it true?
Maybe 9km out with no return trip?
@@TheNeilmcintyrehe says he gets back with no payload easily
Slava Ukraini !!! Hope you are well
What's the flight time of the moz7?
Yay flight footage
Hi. I have a Diatone Mamba F722MK4 + F65-128K Stack 3-6s bone stock or uppdate esc? And what to install and settings on esc? And i was uppdating The Flight Controller to a new firmware, and when i took the Cli dump and put it on the new firmware i got manny Errors. Is tatt ok?
Just my opinion
help pliz what batery i need to buy for MOZ7 tbs nano rx???
Is the 7" measured from the base or what measuring system are we using here?
It's the prop diameter.
Oh yes that intro with music from venjet. "Oh thats cool and that are gonna move" ;-)
Cruising at around 90MPH... SWEET!
Please review the AOS 3.5 evo with dji 03, I think it is the solution to sub 250g fpv.
26:24 things always feel longer whyen youre doing them… ok bardwell calm down
