    The windows being partially open is one of two things; either the windows switch is out of sinc with the motors and needs to be reset. Depending on the manufacturer, the process is simple and involves having a good battery, lowering the window and once down, hold the window switch in the down position for 8 to 10 seconds. Then release the switch from the down position and then raise the window and hold the switch in the up position. Once all the way up continue to hold the window switch in the up position also for 8 to 10 seconds then release the switch. If the doors are close, the windows should remain all the way up. If this doesn't remedy the windows problem then chances are there's a safety switch with the folding roof that has gone bad. When released from the up & locked position, all of the power windows should lower approximately one inch to allow room for all of the systems involved in folding and stowing the hardtop roof in the trunk.

    • @ciberzero35
      @ciberzero35 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Exactly.
      Amazingly, very few people know about the simple window reset.
      In most cases, it is due to a rough battery replacement.
      In Europe, some brands charge up to 300 euros if you take your car in for service for such a trivial issue.
      If it's related to the electrical wiring, a car like that isn't worth the repair.

    • @kuchenblechmafiagmbh1381
      @kuchenblechmafiagmbh1381 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On these modern coupés and convertibles with power windows and "missing" upper frame you can also watch that they automatically open just a little bit when you open the door (I'm sure that the roof has kind of a double-lip seal and when you close the door it raises the window again to push it against the seal.

    • @JachuJustyDriver
      @JachuJustyDriver หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've learnt that procedure with the first, of the three French Cars that I've owned :D. My problem was the door wiring, that broke and caused my automatic window de-calibration. Then I've learnt that it's applicable in most euro cars :)

    We have Goo Gone down here too. It was actually the first thing I thought of when I seen all the adhesive stuck on the car, glad it worked so well.
    I had never even heard of this car, you made it look great!

    You make a good and a hard work at the same time, Mitch. Make a candy from abandoned and almost decayed piece of... it needs more than only necessity to do this work and earn your money in your case I have seen a strong sense of satisfaction the final result. And it's awesome when a man can do the work what he wants and do it with pleasure. All the best, Mitch, thanks for satisfying transformation.

    It's hilarious how you always find at least one twoonie in these cars. I only found your channel yesterday but I've watched at least a dozen of your videos so far - and I'm someone whose vehicle is kept pretty near perfect. I keep a swiffer in my console to dust my dash, console and panel! Goo Gone is the best - but Krud Kutter is a close second.

    The DEFINITION of "cleaned up good"! On a miserably hot, humid day, nothing better than a Detail Geek disaster detail--you know that the filthiest cars always make for your best videos. This one did not disappoint. You transformed this neglected, nearly destroyed car into something the owner's daughter is going to love. Even the paint was restored! Now if her dad can just get the mechanicals working again. Thanks for another miraculous transformation. p.s. Yes, we have Goo Gone in the States, and we also have Goof Off, but my go-to fave is Goo Gone and I've used it for years (though never on a car).

    Beautiful redemptive work! I own a 2009 EOS, and they are super fun cars to drive and to own. You have to be very precise with their care, however, and they are expensive to maintain. I'm sure this was will stay looking fresh for years to come. Great and impressive work!

    Awesome work Mitch 😎 I always use a specialty product like Goo Gone, Goof Off, or Rapid Remover to remove this type of PPF residue. Hitting it with 90% isopropyl alcohol first helps too

    I can confirm Mitch precautions. If the paintcoat have chips or deep scratches it's a very risky to use pressure waterpump nozzle so close to coating surfaces. I have seen to myself how a bits of paintcoat go away staying only primer after it or even bare metal. And don't even think to clean this way a vehicle if you being known that the surface were repaired with putty. In this case risk to see your vehicle body naked increase in several times.

    When I saw the adhesive on the car after you peeled that plastic I kept yelling “USE GOO GONE” and I’m glad you did lol. It’s also available in the USA and I use it at work all the time.

    Goo-Gone is available in the U.S. At the beginning when you where trying to remove the plastic film, Goo-Gone came right to mind and I was going to suggest it.

    Completely astounded by this detail. I was wondering for the last few days how that mess was going to come off the front of this coupe. Still confused about WHY anyone would put that film on the car? Maybe it was there to reduce paint damage originally, but yuck what a mess to deal with. I knew the Goo gone was coming, how else would you remove that adhesive. That was a prestigious amount of trash inside. The AC car lighter adapter was cracking me up. That extractor pour!!! My morning coffee isn't that dark. 🤣 Not sure when this was filmed, but you're workouts are really working, and you have a tan line where your shades were. Good for you!!! The leather clean up was great. I can see why 12 hours was needed for this transformation. OK, one last thing, that hood ornament in the grill was misaligned and drove me bananas. This was outstanding work Mitch! Have a wonderful weekend!!! 💜💜💜

      Haha yeah I’m not a fan of PPF either for a lot of reasons, but this was definitely a worst case scenario and a reminder that it needs to be replaced every few years! That water pour was mind boggling nasty haha. Thanks for the kind words Joel, have a great weekend!!
      Got a VERY interesting and crazy one coming for you guys next week!
