She has a hyper focus on chemicals and safety, so she was really worried when she saw no gloves. Keep up the good work she loves watching these its the highlight of her day!

Rust doesn't cause tetanus, but I would always wear gloves due to the potential lead exposure and ick factor. That last one isn't scientific. I am however amazed that gloves protect from adjacent sand blasting. Thanks for the videos. These are great.
@25:12 On the off chance this hasn’t been mentioned yet, there is stabilizing resin (sometimes called cactus juice) that doesn’t require you to sand a whole bunch of resin off. You put the wood in the resin, use the vacuum, and then remove the wood and bake it. Fantastic job once again!
You just revived a absolute classic from my childhood bubble gum candy cigars. Just watching you restore this simple machine brings back so many countless memories of my childhood going to the candy shop to get my usual flavor of bubble gum candy cigars and possibly try any new flavors that the shop might making. And yes the candy shop i went made all there own candy using all natural & organic ingredients the shop owners were a husband & wife the husband was a organic chemist & his wife was a culinary school trained candy maker. Watching this video had the young kid in me saying im going to the candy shop.

True to the advertising, this restoration was "not terrible". Since cigars are somewhat out of fashion, I'd call these "candy blunts". I hope this piece makes its way into a happy home in an artisan candy shop. Many such places in Colorado would love to make treats with this cute machine!

Gorgeous restoration. My family used to fix homemade candy at Christmas every year but we never had a machine to run it threw. We would pour it onto a buttered marble slab and let it cool for a few seconds and then we would each take a chunk and hand cut it with scissors. One of my many favorite Christmas memories. Thank you for reminding me of the fun we used to have❤
Oh thanks for sharing. In Germany I don't think it's a family tradition in most homes, but I heard in Sweden it's done a lot around Christmas as well

You should sell this to a dispensary or edibles manufacturer. Candy cigars are not fashionable, but an edible dosed out and shaped like a blunt would sell quite well.

It's better safe than sorry, even in the case of chemicals not being toxic. Always good to keep a barrier between your hand and the chemicals.

It’s sort of like a thin resin that replaces all of the air to stabilize anything that holds a lot of air, like for example a pine cone.

Yes they still sell candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars. Lots of stores have a "nostalgia " candy section. What used to be a nickel is now $2.79.
