By far the easiest video and instructions for this complicated knot. Tried and failed with a few others but got it first time with these first rate instructions. Thank you!
I've been trying to tie this knot for a couple of days, I finally got it after after watching your video. This is the first one that shows the second strand going BEHIND the left hand stand on your finger and through the middle. All the others block the view with their hand. Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you so very much! This is the best video demonstration I have seen on diamond knotting. For the first time, after months of trying and failed attempts, I have been able to do my very first diamond knot. Thank you for your patient and wonderful demonstration.
You should make your own youtube tutorial on the d.k. An interesting fact is that you should start becoming a writer by writing two books. One is the stuff you have to tell, and the other is how to write a book.
Ive never been able to tie this knot. Try after try. Books and other TH-cam videos didn't help. I was able to follow right along with you and get it the first try. Thanks!
Thanks for a great easy explanaition. You seem to be the only one actually teaching others how to succeed. I’ve watched so many other tutorials for this knot and all are unclear and frustraiting. You are a great trainer :)
I agree! You made it much easier to learn. You took the time to show the path, and didn’t just show each step just once, with your hand covering half of the rope, like others often do.
Sean, by far the best and easiest demonstration of the diamond knot I have yet to experience. I am new to EDC and decided on lanyards and attractive beads. No doubt a fine EDC and accompanying lanyard replete with a classic paracord knot is a highly-desired skill I acquired. Thank you very much. PS, comments about your conversation when you should be demonstrating are insulting and unworthy and show a lack of appreciation for how I had to spend hours watching others make it difficult instead of the three minutes it took me to understand the intricacies. Best and warm regards,
I've tried making this knot for hours now. Just to find more proof that just because someone knows how to do something doesn't mean they know how to explain. This was brilliant. Thank you. I finally got it
Outstandingly clear and easy explanation! Thank you very much for having solved my beginner's doubts regarding this knot. I bought a best seller book from Amazon about paracord creations because I am not a fan of video tutorials, but yours are a very useful exception.
Great tip about the working end. If you have this attached to something, you can still keep track of where you are, also rather then saying around this cord here, "the working end" was a great reference point; especially for me. I don't have to make a lot of these, and this video is quick and easy to follow. Actually will probably always remember how to make the knot now, because of you!! THANKS!!
I've been trying to follow this knot in another video but could do it. In desperation, I came across this video, and boom!!! Did it first time. Thank you very much. I was nearly put off at first though, because I couldn't under stand while you wasted playing time undoing the previous knot.
I've watched a number of other tutorials on this knot, and accomplished nothing more than getting seriously frustrated. This time I got it! Took watching it twice, but it worked for me. Thanks for a great tutorial!
Yours is by far the best explanation. The part I always didn't see was that last bit where the string went out of view around the working bit of string from the finger. You explained what I couldn't see when watching other people giving demo 's , so I always stuffed it up😂 But got it now👍
Thanks for explaining the last two passings that comes up through the diamond. Four previous videos "just make half a circle and up through the diamond.." nitwits. Anyway great upload! Thx!
I dont normally like or comment on videos these days. But i just wanted to say thank you.. i was doing a snooker ball in a monkey fist and needed a nice tidy knot and not a loop knot ... And this was perfect. And thanks again.
...I love this knot...if you want a round beautiful button...pull and tighten the loop that was around your finger into the center...it will hang onto a center strand and close beautifully...then you can leave both strands OR cut one off and melt leaving the one strand...thanks...been watching you for years...
The "working end" thing saved me from a rage quit and smashing my phone to pieces. The last 3 videos the instructor's hands were in the way and it was hard to see even at 1/4 speed. Thanks. Edit: the comment about your battery being low reminded me mine was as well. Plugged it in at 1%. Thanks
Some of these things will scramble your brains. Lol mine was the square turks head. After 30 some attempts I finally got it. Even revisiting it took 5 or 6 times to get the hang of it back.
Shawn you are the best at tutorials. Your explanations are not too fast but not so slow that I want to strangle myself with the Paracord! Long time fan, student and customer. Thank you for your service.
I've watched multiple videos on how to tie this not. And couldn't tie it. . I like the way you slow things down. I finally got it this time. Thank you.
4:00 is where I always mess up even when I watch this video 😣 Which I still have to watch this every time I do one of these…. I’ve only done 6 so far though so hopefully I’ll memorize it eventually and not screw up the last part. The bad part about these knots is how much paracord you need to use and how much extra is left you have to cut off… I wish there was an easier way with less cord used. I’ve tried less cord but seem to always need a lot. Anyway thanks for your parcord options and the video. I only found one other brand that is as nice and as cheap.
Hi Sean - Great video. I am a beginner paracorder and this knot has been kicking my butt. Tee Hee. Thanks for going slow. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to do it by memory, but I will keep your video on deck to help me though the knot in the future. Thanks for sharing and continued success. Love PegEgg
i spent 40 mins trying to learn this knot on another tutorial and couldnt get it, i turn on this vid and got it before the video was over, so easy to follow along
Most effective video for this imo. I played at half speed, mimicked the instructor and got a perfect result on first try. Any suggestions on doing this with short lanyard for a edc say 5"?
I find that when tightening the knot, I can push on all sides of the knot in between pulling the cords tight and it usually works the slack out. Although you could pull the slack through if you want to be sure. I just think it takes a bit more time.
Bahaha finally found it!!! Been a few years since iv made bracelets and somehow forgot the very last step!! Great tutorial! This is and always will be my goto vid for this knot
I realize this is very old video but this was the most simply explained easy to follow video for a beginner like me to follow , very well done thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Bored Paracord, I just received my Blue diamond Paracord today in the mail. Also thank you for the "Thanks Donald" post it note inside. great company and service. prices are excellent, I will not buy from anyone else.
Just used it on a creaking piece of thick leather thong. I'm guessing not the best way to learn it.As usual I have to thank you for your time and consideration you put in to your video.Quite educational, functional and fun. 🙏
mailperson Each inner strand is 50 lbs breaking strength, there are 7, for a total of 350 lbs. Subtract 350 from 550, you get 200 lbs for the outside. More than strong enough for a camera strap.
okay so i made up my very own knot tonight! it is definitely KNOT smthn to be very proud of though. wish i could post a pic. it's hilarious. oh really Facebook huh? hmm mayyybe
So, I'm acquiring this new skill, in fact, I'm just starting. It sure took me a while to tie this knot, but I got it. I actually tried to learn it on four different sites, but failed. Finally, TH-cam's AI led me to your page. The combination of videography and instruction worked for me. Thanks to you, my repertoire includes the monkey's fist, the snake knot, and the two strand diamond knot. This is fun, challenging, and I have a use in mind for these skills, but if I didn't this would still be a good to acquire while suffering from the "corona virus house arrest syndrome". I really did not know what the phrase, "cabin fever" meant until we were attacked by the Chinese Flu.
Hate the last tightening part I always pull the wrong one I don't get it at all I do it a lot with the money's fist too is there any tips for it or like how do I tell what one to pull

I feel that pain 😂
My exact problem this video wins
Thank you so very much! This is the best video demonstration I have seen on diamond knotting. For the first time, after months of trying and failed attempts, I have been able to do my very first diamond knot. Thank you for your patient and wonderful demonstration.
I’ve watched a bunch of videos on how to tie this knot, and yours is the only one I understood. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Best instructional video on making this knot. I’ve watched several and this was by far the easiest to understand. Thank you! 🙏
I have been doing this since 2015, and I still use instructions to do this knot 😂 Thanks for making this video! 👍🏼😊

Most comprehensive instructional video about how to tie this knot. Thank you!!
Wow!! Definitely the easiest diamond knot tutorial!! Thank you👍🏽
Oh my gosh.. I had SOOO much trouble with this knot until I watched this video. THANK YOU
I have seen so many Vids how to tite that Knot, never worked, but with your Video I get perfect Diamond Knots! Thanks for sharing and teaching!
I've been trying to follow this knot in another video but could do it. In desperation, I came across this video, and boom!!! Did it first time. Thank you very much. I was nearly put off at first though, because I couldn't under stand while you wasted playing time undoing the previous knot.
Wow! Thanks I was having lots of difficulty trying to untie that knot and the first part of this video really helped dramatically!
Great tutorial on the a quick way to make a diamond knot
“Easy enough right?”
Me(on my 86th try): Yeah!
I've watched a number of other tutorials on this knot, and accomplished nothing more than getting seriously frustrated. This time I got it! Took watching it twice, but it worked for me. Thanks for a great tutorial!
I’ve been having so much trouble with this knot until I saw this video! Thank you!
Took me like 8 tries cause I had pretty short working ends since I'm finishing off a snake lanyard. Using a sharpie instead of my finger helped a lot.
Yours is by far the best explanation.
The part I always didn't see was that last bit where the string went out of view around the working bit of string from the finger.
You explained what I couldn't see when watching other people giving demo 's , so I always stuffed it up😂
But got it now👍

Oh my stars! Starting around the finger is brilliant. It worked! Thank you for helping me to end my frustration with this knot!
Best instructions I have found on how to tie this knot for soft shackles.
I dont normally like or comment on videos these days. But i just wanted to say thank you.. i was doing a snooker ball in a monkey fist and needed a nice tidy knot and not a loop knot ... And this was perfect. And thanks again.

I had so many problems with that knot. This is the best tutorial so far. Thanks!
I totally agree, it finally made sense.
Some of these things will scramble your brains. Lol mine was the square turks head. After 30 some attempts I finally got it. Even revisiting it took 5 or 6 times to get the hang of it back.
After failing this knot from two other videos, I tied it using this method on the first pass. Thank you.
Thanks for providing the neatest explanation of this knot.
Thank you friend. I also was having trouble with this knot. I am starting to recognize where I go wrong now, thanks to your tutorial.
Shawn you are the best at tutorials. Your explanations are not too fast but not so slow that I want to strangle myself with the Paracord! Long time fan, student and customer. Thank you for your service.
That’s the best tutorial for this knot I’ve seen. Thanks!
Took a while but with your video I was able to get a pretty good looking knot. Yours are the most intsructive and helpful of all..... Thanks...
I've been struggling to tie this for a while. Best video I have seen. Thank you!!!
I've watched multiple videos on how to tie this not. And couldn't tie it. . I like the way you slow things down. I finally got it this time. Thank you.

After 4 other views from other videos of this cord, yours has been the only one that help me get it and learn (memorize) it. Thank you Sir!

Thanks....Watched another channel on this knot but man is your way much easier to follow and understand.
I have seen so many diamond knot videos. And after watching this one I FINALLY got it! Thanks so much, this video is great!!!
Thanks Shaun this is the easy way to tie a button, or diamond knot. Some videos go the long way around the barn.
From a mess...... to a neat lock knot!
Nice one!
i spent 40 mins trying to learn this knot on another tutorial and couldnt get it, i turn on this vid and got it before the video was over, so easy to follow along
Most effective video for this imo. I played at half speed, mimicked the instructor and got a perfect result on first try. Any suggestions on doing this with short lanyard for a edc say 5"?
Worked the slack out of the middle loop and I have a nice little globe knot.
I find that when tightening the knot, I can push on all sides of the knot in between pulling the cords tight and it usually works the slack out. Although you could pull the slack through if you want to be sure. I just think it takes a bit more time.
What a great explanation! I finally tied my own after watching this video
Thank you!!!
This is the first Video that helped me!
Thanks and greetings from germany!
A key knot. Very clear tutorial! We have to practice now 😀. Thank you so much!
Bahaha finally found it!!! Been a few years since iv made bracelets and somehow forgot the very last step!! Great tutorial! This is and always will be my goto vid for this knot
I realize this is very old video but this was the most simply explained easy to follow video for a beginner like me to follow , very well done thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Seen many Diamond Knot tutorials but yours is the best!
Scott Sandison I agree very much.
Best video om the Diamond Knot. Thank You!
BY FAR THE BEST INSTUCTIONAL VIDEO
Thanks for the explanation! the last part of the weaving was the hardest
I can't stop watching these tutorials. I'm now an addict to paracord. Great directions on everything you do btw. Keep it up!
Woohoo!! Got it on my first try!!! Great tutorial!!!!!!
Good to see someone still in the paracord business. I know it used to be really popular but has really died down now. Nice channel!
I know right
I have a book that covers this knot, and doesn't cover it at the same time. Very good tutorial, thanks!
Thanks for this helpful video; got it first time with your clear instructions.
I want to like this video twice
You sir have a gift for teaching!!
Best explanation on TH-cam for this knot. Thanks!
That seemed easy to follow...
I'll be back when I need that knot! Thx bro!
Great tutorial, thanks for posting this video. It has help slot. Your video is the easiest to follow and your instructions are on point.
Sucess, 1st time! Woohoo!
Not my 1st video or attempt. Great instructions & not hiding crucial steps.
Different color cords would be nice. Sometimes because of camera angle, it's hard to tell which end was used to go where.
Thank you Bored Paracord, I just received my Blue diamond Paracord today in the mail. Also thank you for the "Thanks Donald" post it note inside. great company and service. prices are excellent, I will not buy from anyone else.
Best tutorial so far
Just used it on a creaking piece of thick leather thong. I'm guessing not the best way to learn it.As usual I have to thank you for your time and consideration you put in to your video.Quite educational, functional and fun. 🙏
Just joined group and subscribed! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial👍
just made my first diamond knot. u have made look so easy & understood everything u were doing thank you
this was a great reminder on how to do this know, thanks a lot!
Best tutorial for this thank you for explaining every move 👌🏽🪢🗡
Just wondering, how strong is the outside (without) the inside strings,
of Paracord. Would they be strong enough for a camera strap?
mailperson Each inner strand is 50 lbs breaking strength, there are 7, for a total of 350 lbs. Subtract 350 from 550, you get 200 lbs for the outside. More than strong enough for a camera strap.
Very nice demonstration - thank-you.
The simplicity and beauty. Thank you very much...
can you pull that loop out to make it an end knot?
I got this first time. Good tutorial, keep up the good work
Question: Cord size being equal, will a single strand diamond knot and a 2 strand diamond knot result in basically the same size knot?
Awesome worked like a charm
Quality tutorial. Thanks Pal. 👍
Wow, got it on the first try! Outstanding video, thanks!
This is a footrope knot which is a diamond knot inside out .if you roll the crown down over the wall you end up with a diamond knot.
Excellent tutorial.. it all makes sense now ! Keep up the cool informative paracord videos. Subscribed because of this tutorial : )
I just realized im using you're paracord to do this knot
FINALLY ONE OF THESE FROM YOU!!!!!! Also, glad your back. newish to watching you but absolutely love all your designs.
