Omar! Glad you took ‘er out for a spin. Been a while since my x-pro2, but if I recall, you can switch the OVF magnification with holding the OVF/EVF switch in the opposite direction, thereby eliminating the OVF crop with the 27mm.
Which is what I use with my 32mm so it'll give me extra room to frame with. I love this feature. It's all amazing that when you swap for a 50mm lens, for example, it'll automatically magnify the OVF.
I know that they keep "improving" sensors, but that X-Pro2, X-T2 and X-E3 sensor might just have the perfect ratio of clinical/vintage rendering. Omar, you owe it to yourself to just get the new 27mm R-WR. You'll wonder how you lived without the aperture ring plus it will have the same weather resistance as the body. I bought the Squarehood for mine and it is very well engineered, looking like it was built as one piece with the actual lens.
Omar, I too love shooting with my Pro2 and for two years I loved shooting with the 27 mm F2.8, but then I picked up a used 18 mm F2 in perfect condition for only €250, about $300, and now I love shooting with that lens and don’t use the 27 mm very much. You’ll find the frame lines are perfect, even better than the 23 mm. It’s Fuji’s second smallest lens and many consider it a pancake, but you have an aperture ring and F2 and a wonderful focal length. When you consider that for a long time 28 mm was the focal length on iPhones up until the 14 pro series, it’s a perfect focal length. And that lens actually is very sharp and has wonderful character. Borrow one or pick up a good used copy.
Love these walk around street shoots! Great content and and very inspiring. But then we’ve come to expect nothing less from you! Always fun! Maybe some day I’ll get to NYC!
I just received my graphite Xpro2, it is amazing. I am in love. The looks, the controls, the clicks, the photos. Thank you for this video, adding to the decision.
Maybe get one of those silicone body covers to stop any scratches? Flouro pink should keep things nice and discreet on the street ;-) Gorgeous pics, thanks for posting.
Great looking camera and shots. I have the XPro 3 and absolutely love it use mostly with 23 f2. Used to live in NYC shooting lots of bw film and slides, looking forward to returning later this year using Xpro3 to do some comparison photography. Keep up the graet videos
That's a nice one, Omar. As usual. Thanks for sharing... And because of you, I've recently grabbed a venerable X-E2 (with the very last 4.1.1 firmware providing roughly the AF of the X-E2S)...
I’m thinking about switching from Sony apsc to Fuji because lack of apsc primes. I was looking at the xpro 2 and think it looks cool. Thanks for making this vid Omar. Also excited to see your editing tutorials.
Now you have to try Xpro1 + 18mmf2. Sceeen and EVF are barely usable so you have to shoot OVF! Best image Q ( to my eyes) and perfect frames lines for wide angle.
Started looking for one right after I saw your unboxing. Found it new with the 23/2 on clearance at a shop here in Singapore. I am STRUGGLING with autofocus but having a ball with the camera.
Omar, I have an XT3 and I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction. If I choose a metering mode on the dial, do I need to go into the camera and choose the same metering mode to match or does one override the other? Thanks in advance and continue the great work with the videos.
A tip that I didnt know about after years of using the X-Pro2: If you hold the lever for a second or two, that switches the viewfinder mode from electronic to optical, you can acctully zoom the optical viewfinder in or out a bit. With the "wide lens" in the viewfinder I find that an 18mm is perfectly framed in the ovf. It will also automatically switch the "viewfinder lens" when attaching a wide lens to the camera.
It can also sometimes be fun to use the wider optical viewfinder with lets say a 35mm or such, to see more of the action around the frame lines, so that you can see what is about to enter the frame. One big reason imo to stick with the X-Pro2 over the X-Pro3, since it does not have this dual lens thing in the optical viewfinder.
Don’t coat it with anything! Use it! I had the graphite, which I sold and have regretted, so just take care of it! Otherwise, it’s a very expensive paperweight!
Good choice with the X-Pro2. My X-Pro3 had an LCD failure a few days ago, a common issue which is definitely due to the flip screen. Gotta get a repair for at least 250€… But, I really love the X-Pro experience. My favourite camera for sure.
Happy to twee someone on TH-cam using the ovf. Use it with the 18mm a lot and it’s a great experience. It gets me more into the moment and focus more on photography.
Great video and so many epic shots, Omar. Nice! While the woman with the hair (who you posted on Instagram) is just stunning - nearly every capture in this video has been inspired and inspiring! Thanks for sharing this with us.
I bought an xt20 because of you that I have since sold. I have missed that sensor ever since. Now my dream camera is the xpro2 so I can get that sensor back with an optical viewfinder.
Had to use my xpro2 as my other camera during a wedding last week. My XT3 was playing up and couldn't risk using it. The X-Pro2 performed extremely well...not quite xt5 focus speed of course, but some cracking pics
great video thanks for sharing your X-Pro2 walk around. My main (non work) camera is the XP2 and I love shooting street, portrait and travel photography with it. Have the 35 f2 WR and 23 f1.4 WR, and always shoot RAW!!!! 😁
Omar I have a question. I’m a Nikon shooter mainly but I purchased my first Fuji being the xpro 1. Fell in love. Now I want to further step into the Fuji world and get a work horse camera for street but also for serious portrait work including flash. I want to get the xpro 2 but the xt4 feels like the move I should make. From your experience which would you rather. I’m not to heavily invested in lenses. And I feel I will get the 35 1.4 and be great with just that
Love this camera! I owned it twice and twice sold it... fool... in my opinion it's one of the most beautiful cameras ever made and only graphite version. Most of all I love how it looks with the original graphite xf23 2.0 or classic xf35 1.4. Very cool stuff! Congratulations! 😎
I have the X-E3 and a used X-Pro2 (yes I know they have the same sensor/ processor), I also had the X-T3 which I sold to a friend when the X-T5 came out, the thinking was to sell the X-Pro2 and get the X-T5. But I just can’t quite bring myself to letting the X-Pro2 go, I think it’s a classic in the making and I know I’ll regret it. I kinda regret selling the X-T3, but I’ll still want that 5 for the bigger battery, flip up screen and IBIS.
as @IszakG already mentioned if you hold the lever for a few seconds in the right position it will actually change the FOV of the OVF which is pretty impressive
Scratched!!!! Put a leather half-case on it and only you will know its tantalizing beauty! I love the color of that camera! That street portrait of the woman was great!
omar-thanks for the effort and the sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. at 2:55 is an image of the Cunard Lines building. Cunard was the ocean liner firm that owned the Titantic. great building. and i'm so surprised, no images of "The Bull"? thumbs up.
Great Video! I don't use RAW anymore. The JPGs are soo great! I just stream them to my phone and I do very little editing (Contrast, warmth, vignette) and they are ready to print or ready to send by messenger... ;-)
My graphite edition (with the graphite 23 f/2 lens) will be here on Monday. I can't wait. Back to the future. I had an X-Pro2 but sold it to get into FF with a Canon R6. Realised how much I missed the fun of shooting with Fuji, so I sold the Canon gear and came back. Honestly, I hope I scratch the f**k out of it.
Omar you crack me up!! You're my entertainment as I eat my breakfast. Love the channel. And I would "LIKE" even if you did charge for presets. . . PS I have the Xpro-3 and love it except that darn compensation dial placement makes it so that half the time it gets bumped out of my setting. Wish it had a lock!
would be most worried about getting dust on the sensor. had some spots. took it to the fuji store in tokyo and they said it had to be shipped to the factory to clean the sensor. omg seriously?!? anyone know where is the best place to pick up a battery charger for the xpro2? mine is suddenly MIA
Thank you for having some sort of strap on your camera. It just weirds me out when I see people not using them or even having one attached to their camera.
😂I love that line everytime u post a video of saying "you like' 😅 I find myself saying it with you all the time 😂😂.. Fujifilm makes beautiful colours I am just a fan all the way!
Hi! Maybe you can help me. I was trying to connect a monitor to shoot video to this camera. It doesn't work. I can view photos and videos, but I can't shoot videos using a monitor. Maybe there is a secret?
Samuel Gonzales Photography then The street portrait and the stylin lady pics looked great. Beautiful colors. You're really selling me on this xpro 2 💸💸💸😅
Omar! Glad you took ‘er out for a spin. Been a while since my x-pro2, but if I recall, you can switch the OVF magnification with holding the OVF/EVF switch in the opposite direction, thereby eliminating the OVF crop with the 27mm.
That’s correct. It will switch to the magnification of a 18mm.
Which is what I use with my 32mm so it'll give me extra room to frame with. I love this feature.

Love the 27mm optical viewfinder tip! And man, those X-Trans III sensor tones are beautiful… almost as beautiful as the graphite finish
Omar, I too love shooting with my Pro2 and for two years I loved shooting with the 27 mm F2.8, but then I picked up a used 18 mm F2 in perfect condition for only €250, about $300, and now I love shooting with that lens and don’t use the 27 mm very much. This is why I shoot with an 18mm f2 on my X-Pro 2, AND have an X70! Both options are great🙏
Omar, in this video you made the best street photos you ever showed us, big up!
Love these walk around street shoots! Great content and and very inspiring. But then we’ve come to expect nothing less from you! Always fun! Maybe some day I’ll get to NYC!
OMG OMG OMG - Did it have a Leica BnW recipe on it? If it did you have my old XPRo 2
Sold my X100V for X-Pro2/27mm. So much fun.
I just received my graphite Xpro2, it is amazing. I am in love. The looks, the controls, the clicks, the photos. Thank you for this video, adding to the decision.
XPRO2 is a very beautiful camera.
Loving the video and the camera! Great work Omar. Looking forward to the editing video...

Finally .. found a great deal on graphite X-Pro2 kit.. it’s on the way. 27 and 33 are excited… I am also.
3:05 this shot is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I really enjoyed this. As someone who wanders around NY with an xPro3 and the 27mm. It was great seeing your shots with a similar setup.
great shots and lovely camera - now I want one....😀
Oh no! Now I want one too
That's a nice one, Omar. As usual. Thanks for sharing... And because of you, I've recently grabbed a venerable X-E2 (with the very last 4.1.1 firmware providing roughly the AF of the X-E2S)...
Very nice!
Thumb rest and square lens hood. :-)
Surprised you love the OVF+no-screen approach with the 27mm but didn't love that form with the X-Pro3 (where the screen is sort of always off?)!
i love pushing the ISO on the film sims, the grain is soooooo nice!!!! fun video thank you omar
How are you adding grain in post? I agree that some of the recipes with strong grain can be a bit much.
I’m thinking about switching from Sony apsc to Fuji because lack of apsc primes. I was looking at the xpro 2 and think it looks cool. Thanks for making this vid Omar. Also excited to see your editing tutorials.
Great Video as always! Got the X-T2 now I need the X-pro 2 :)
3:05 and 4:09 were my favs. Nicely done Omar!
Now you have to try Xpro1 + 18mmf2. Sceeen and EVF are barely usable so you have to shoot OVF! Best image Q ( to my eyes) and perfect frames lines for wide angle.
Both the screen and evf are perfectly usable. How is it not??
@@ajphelps16 Just my aging eyes I think. I used to be fine! OVF great though and I never use the rear screen to shoot.
@@LewisNobleArtist fair enough. I’m thinking about getting the xpro 2 or a xt4 to replace my xpro 1
O mar god! 😉 Great photos 👍🏻😎
Thanks! 😃
Make sure you clean it thoroughly apply some polish and put it back in its clear climate controlled case with LED lighting when you're done! 🙃
Lol
@@ogonzilla maybe if it was a Leica you might want to do that lol
These photos were definitely “delicious”! Can’t wait to see that video!
Best photos so far in the channel (besides your incredible professional work). It seems this camera is inspiring you!
You got me good with the " ahhhh...you like ". Cracks me up every time 🤣😂
These are some of your best street photos yet!
Ohhh yes, I likkkke!!
Thanks for sharing.
Still jelly of your new baby!!! 😂 enjoy!!! Great shots too. Love the nod to PR too.

I grabbed mine and tried that as soon as I saw your comment. I’m shook 🤯
@@probably-nobody easter egg-status on that little feature. 😃
This is by far the best looking camera Fujifilm ever made. I am kicking myself for ever letting my Xpro1 go.

Great seeing you yesterday. Also your video edits are amazing!
Enjoyed this video dope shots, and bad jokes my favourite combo.
I love my XPro 2, I found it for £300 in a bargain bin, its now my main Street photography camera.
love the xpro 2
If the 27mm isn't showing frame lines, you must have it in the magnified OVF setting? I think?
Very cool Omar!!!!
Great looking images! Looks like you really enjoy taking pictures with this camera :=)
