    Thanks for making a clear video that actually show what the dethatcher is doing instead of just taking

    I have that unit, along with the Brinly aerator. They both work well for me, as I only have a quarter acre lawn. The dethatcher can be labor intensive as after I've dethatched I still have to go over the lawn with the mower to suck up all the debris. I use them once a year to prepare the lawn for overseeding, and I agree with you, this piece of equipment is better left for the homeowner and not the professional.

    Great video man. I’m going to fab it to a front mounted for my 36 stand on its way cheaper than buying one and I’m going to bag it up at the same time.

    With the cheap welder from Harbor freight. I rigged it to where mine is mounted right in front of my agri-fab yard sweeper. So every pass I make it gets swept right up. I do have a clogging issue but since I don't have the cheap Wheels I'm able to back up and it clears out and then I can go back over it again

      This dethatcher is light and can actually be moved around easily and possibly hung on a wall if you take the handle off

  • @BillyGoatLawnService
    @BillyGoatLawnService 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    That actually makes sense to have a front mount Dethatcher instead of a pull behind. Definitely would save time to bag the debris.

  • @GardeningwithBarchuckin
    @GardeningwithBarchuckin 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    For larger yard that is much better than the SunJoe. It is a pain when you have to go over the same areas a bunch of times to pick up the grass debris. I like the core aerator you have there.

    There’s actually powered pull behind dethatchers out there. Obviously way more money but also way more effective.

    • @JonsDailyHustle
      @JonsDailyHustle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't seen the powered pull behind dethatchers yet. I've seen the powered walk behinds but not a pull behind one. I'll have to look into them and check it out

  • @doct0rnic
    @doct0rnic ปีที่แล้ว

    I have the smart link thatcher (same thing) and I really find it frustrating how often it clogs, I noticed once it clogs it is not effective, I spend more time getting on and off to unclog it, really for the time spent on using this with big yards you might as well get a power dethatcher instead

    • @JonsDailyHustle
      @JonsDailyHustle  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree for the first use....however if you dethatch your yard once a year or once every other year it will make it more manageable and from what I've seen it doesn't clog up as much

      @Casey Porter that's awesome they do work well. There's a link in the description from Amazon if you wanted to check it out that way....but I respect your decision wherever you buy it, you can go wrong. If you buy it through a store just make sure it looks right as sometimes they don't know how to assemble them and they won't work right

    I've heard pull behinds are hard on the hydros. Any truth to that?

    • @JonsDailyHustle
      @JonsDailyHustle  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it is. Definitely need a commercial unit to pull things like this for extended periods of time. Smaller trailers with not much in them are fine....but this unit depending on how much weight you put on it can cause damage

    • @JonsDailyHustle
      @JonsDailyHustle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can always check by looking at your cores pulled from aerating. If you see a pretty thick layer of dead grass on the top of the soil of your cores you'd probably benefit from one

    The Angry Fab is a piece of junk. Cheap thin metal and rocks and jumps like hell, regardless of additional weight on it. Looks like you sped up the video showing the dethatcher at work. If you don't have a perfectly flat yard and go slower than snail this thing rocks and jumps making the tines miss tons of spots. Go for the brinly. They looks similar but the brinly is made slightly better.

    • @JonsDailyHustle

      I had 0 issues with this unit and did close to 100 yards with it. Sure it's thin and could use a few upgrades but mine was great. Sorry you had some problems
