Game Freak has introduced to us the Memory Link:
Memory Link allows players to sync either of the original Black and White games with Black 2 and White 2 via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or DS Wireless Communications.
With this explanation, Hilbert and Hilda is actually your own character in Black and White. You are the protagonist!
Hilbert and Hilda are actually available in B2W2 they are
actually in the game!
The only way to meet them is via the Pokemon Center
in Pokemon Wireless Club Union Room.
You can actually talk to them, draw with them and even challenging them on a Pokemon Battle!
This is the main reason! We cannot have two Hilbert/Hilda at
the same time since you are the protagonist!
Just like Red in Pokemon Emerald! He is available too!

Thank you so much for teaching me about this and helping me somehow still discover brand new things about the Pokémon video games that I started with and am still learning about new things from for both the games that started it all for me and myself. For so many people and so many reasons these games were the end of an era. But for and countless others, it was just the beginning. And the passing of the torch of Pokémon from all those who came before us to us, at the time the newest and largest next Generation entering the world of Pokémon and the Pokémon Franchise. Now over a decade later, I am twice the age I was back then. I was 11 back in 2011 when this all started for me. I an now 22 in 2022. I have since traveled through many regions on many Journeys in Pokémon X, Alpha Sapphire, Sun, Ultra Sun, Let's go Eevee, Sword, Brilliant Diamond, and Legends Arceus. For a combined total of 10 Journeys through Kalos, Hoenn, Alola which made up 4 journeys through main and post games, Kanto which is still ongoing, Galar which I still have the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra to look forward to, Sinnoh which is ongoing, and even the ancient Sinnoh Region known as the Hisui Region which is ongoing as well. And with multiple Journeys through the Paldea Region just on the horizon for both Scarlet and Violet, I look forward to someday returning to the place where it all started and passing on the torch to the next generation of Pokémon fans back in my home Region of Unova.
Yes it's true that I have now learned that in the world of Pokémon, all roads lead to Sinnoh. But for me particular, there is always one extra path that opens up to my home. A secret grotto pathway linking all my memories together to a beautiful vast Region unlike any that came before it. A land where the seasons change, where all new Pokémon are all new Pokémon, where you have to start all over again from zero. A Region filled and overflowing with hopes and dreams that we all hold so truly and ideally to our hearts. A Region full of wonders, mysteries, challenges that will make both the hearts soar and heartache. An ever shifting formula of concepts that mix together to form a beautiful mess of all different shades of grey. This is the power of Black and White, for it is both everything and anything but that. And I think that's the real Natural Harmony of it.

Really miss how every sprite animation makes them look so alive yet never going too far and making the design of the characters/pokemon look awful.
Would love if they took the time to make another pokemon game with sprites.
Too bad the fans will hate the game regardless of sprites or not.

The others most probably come from Masters EX which is still a (messy) representation of the game universe: Red (protagonist) and Charizard, Leaf and Venusaur, Ethan (protagonist?) and Typhlosion, Lyra (protagonist?) and Meganium, Kris and Feraligatr, Dawn (protagonist) and Torterra, Lucas and Infernape, Calem still unclear, Serena (protagonist) and Delphox, Elio (protagonist?) and Primarina, Selene (protagonist?) and Decidueye, Gloria (protagonist) and Inteleon and Victor and Rillaboom
@@gabrielevalentini4438 I have played masters ex, and the story for some characters mention stuff about how these aren't their original mons but were actually eggs, I would assume the same is true for characters (silver not having any of the starters should be a proof of that.)
Also do you mean animated trailers when you say "shown in universe"? Because I think they just randomly pick starters for trailers just to show them, basically like artworks that show the starters with other characters.

Everything is written in the video. The answer is The memory link. During your adventure of B2/W2, N and plenty other important character Mention the protagonist from B/W as "Somebody" instead of the protagonist name of Black White.
But if you put the memory link of your actual save file of Black and White, they all instead of saying somebody will say your own name that you gave to the main character in BW which mean your save file made the previous protagonist canon for giving the save file, thus, having a real name.
By that logic, If you use the actual game (Pokemon Black and White) in which you use the exact same game for the memory link and do a battle with Black 2 and White 2 protagonist, this mean that the protagonist you challenge is the exact same as the one that N and plenty other have mentioned. He or She can be challenged directly on the Pokemon Center
in Pokemon Wireless Club Union Room.
It all depend if you use the real save or not. If you use the exact same save as the memory link it became canon, if not then it isn't the same protagonist that they have mentionned only if you pick a different save file. On my case, I used the real save.

Union room connections are links between parallel/alt universes as explained in ORAS, each pokemon save is a different parallel universe and in the case of B2W2 to BW links, time travel as well (like gen 1 to gen 2 links)
Even if you say that you meet their past selves in the union room
that's not the real BW protag, just an identical parallel version, as they were is BW
The real Hilbert/Hilda in your B2W2 is in a different region still looking for N

Other theory, What if Hilda and Hilbert got scattered with Ingo and Emmet to other legends games
To be fair we don't know if Emmet was sent to the past, although it would be cool to maybe see an ancient Johto/Kanto region and find one of them at the top of Mount Silver, give them an actual canon team and have it be the "Cynthia" battle of said legends game
I wish the legends would be more like linear where its the same character that gets thrown to different periods of different region like Quantum Leap meets Everything, Everywhere, All at Once.

Kind of upsetting that so many people fell for this like those old 2010s TyranitarTube fan vids. Took way too long to find this comment of someone not playing along.
I loved the Memory Link. It was so cool, seeing the characters actually reference the BW1 protagonist by name. So many cool events to see, and then battling my old team from BW1 with my new one in BW2? So amazing!! Granted I was playing both DS's...haha.
I played both white a ND white 2 for a total of maybe 3k hours, checked every corner of the map, did all the dream radar and game link stuff and I was never able to find the original trainers to battle, seeing this year's later is like a fever dream
This made me feel like i was watching the Vs Red battle. I am so happy that Hilbert is still here. My favourite trainer design too.

I actually used this feature back when I got White 2! I didn't have friends to play with back then and I would setup teams to fight against and then battle them with a random selection from my box. All this time I was convinced I fought Hilda in the Pokemon World Tournament but this actually rejogged my memory!

Honestly, Pokemon could've ended at Gen 5 and I would've been happy. There's just something magical about Gen 5. It feels like the Pokemon we all know and love, yet new. It forces you to use new Pokemon and look at the same world through new eyes. While we all love our Garchomps and Pikachus and Blastoises, there's something to be said about the bold decision to make us use the Gen 5 Pokemon exclusively. A decision that could've easily backfired but didn't and as a result gave us Pokemon we adore equally. Gen 5 is why I generally try to use the new Pokemon of each generation in my first playthrough of the game.

I remember my cousins playing BW2 with each other 10 years ago when we got together for events. I really, REALLY wish I was convinced by them to get this game, but I had no idea which game it was at the time. Now all the games are super expensive. Oof.

I've tried so many but nothing beats being able to play at the kitchen table at 3am, rolling over in bed with it in your hands, moving to the living room, and running back to the charger. The touch screen features working as intended and the little speakers on either side. It's just soulless on emulators

You can always look for a video game shop at a flea market. Only problem is they tend to be on the pricy side for the DS cartridges. I managed to get a cartridge with an SD in it once with over 200 games just for $50CAD once, and it works pretty well. Just watch out for price gauging.
The teams for each player look kinda legit. The only thing I’d change is for Nate: Braviary instead of Sawsbuck because of Masters EX

So, what you mean is that they are in the game because their sprite is in the game because in this example you are fighting against yourself, right? Like... that Hilbert in the Union Room is you with a different Nintendo system, right? Am I understanding this right?
No, as far as I saw the memory link, should you have completed enough things in your B/W save, it’ll copy your team in the memory link and if you go to the union room and the center of the room, your B/W character’s save data will be used to create an npc you can interact with that’ll be the trainer sprite of Hilda or Hilbert, at least that’s what it seems to be
Yup, you're right. I remember when I casually played with my cousin or my friends in some battles between B2W2 and BW. So this video is actually pretty builded up :/, since B-Kyurem shouldn't be usable in battles against a BW user.
@@AleHappyGamer You can fight use Black/White Kyurem against a Black/White save file, but they see base form Kyurem, instead. This is also the only legitimate way to see the Black/White Freeze Shock and Ice Burn animations(which, like many animations, are slightly different).
@@zephra1675 No, these are just wireless battles between copies of BW and BW2. The only battles unlocked by memory link are against Cheren and Bianca with the starters they had in the linked game.

I thought this was real until the music was a remix of sun and moon champion theme. I think this might be a bit too convincing for a lot of people.

You can battle some from BW on BW2 with your kyurem black or white. On their screen, it’ll just show image error

Damn idk if this is possible in an emulator(I use drastic on my phone) but I wish I could link my BW and my BW2 save files
I wish too, I introduced my lover to Pokemon last year and I'd really like to make possible this experience!
On GBA emulator was possible though the switch of the "load save" for example red fire and emerald.
Dunno if this works on ds emulators, surely not with the android one

I'm planning on doing this for myself via local battles after I finish White 1 and Black 2. I'm setting up White 1 with a team of Pokemon that I feel me 10 years ago would've chosen, and here is that team:

I'm planning on doing it without setting Pokemon to level 50.
Also yes, the Zekrom is gonna know Fly, Cut, and Strength. Plus Fusion Bolt, but y'know
