Frankly it SHOULD have been his job to deal with Buu in the first place. Beerus was extremely lucky that the previous Supreme Kai decided to pass on his mantle to Shin before going off to fight Buu, allowing himself to get absorbed in order to nerf Buu when he was defeated. (If the supreme Kai was absorbed while stile holding the mantle Beerus would have died). I just don’t know why Beerus would allow himself in such a vulnerable state especially since he would had Whis keep an eye on things and wake him up to deal with them…
