The Steelers should definitely pick-up Najee Harris' 5th year option. The dude is good at almost every thing he's asked to do (but his blocking could get better). Good breakdown👍
Beautiful trap love how your helping us understand what is involved in blocking. This opens up the game to me in a new way keep making videos 🤙🏽thanks for you efforts.
For sure. I didn't think so for a while. They've let other first rounders leave, but not Najee. I still think if he'd get down to 225-230, he'd be quicker.
For the younger fans to know: The Steelers were the King 👑 of the trap block. Everyone who put on pads learned about their success and studied how to counter it. I'm glad that they dusted off old play books and used a proven tool.
I was lucky enough to learn from my college OC, who was an all around football savant, & there's nothing that that adds juice to a primarily zone scheme than than the occasional gap call, designed to create great angles/leverage for your OL, Y's, etc. We used to tag inside zone with a Y/H fold if we anticipated the $ rolling down with the formation/motion, & I loved folding inside the tackle from a wing position & doing exactly what Pat just did. Love seeing him really embrace that (& its a hell of a lot easier than digging out 7 & 9 techs from an in-line position). When OCs give their guys advantages like this, the o-line doesn't have to be physically dominant (even though that always helps) for the run game to keep the offense on schedule. Great breakdown as always!

Thanks for watching
I feel like hes a good blocker. Not that this play makes him a good blocker, but did you see the one where he flipped the pass rusher? That was gold
What's old is new again. The Steelers used to use trap blocking a lot back in the day under Noll. Nice stuff.
Lots of gap scheme stuff coming back in vogue

Najee has been on fire in the last couple weeks. Do you all think the Steelers pick up his 5th-year option after the season?
Of course. And imagine he will only get better after o line upgrades in free agency/draft.
no brainer given how cheap it'll be, under $7mm.
Mostl definitely! He’s had a very strong finish to the season.

Yes.. Get a center in the 1st round preferably the one from Georgia and a right tackle, move Jones back into his natural position.
Great job son as always. You are taking this film room content to another lever. Much love!!

Have a good weekend brother!
The reason muth can block that safety so well, is because he's worried about the pass.
