This is not an original point, but it bears repeating: His character had less than ten minutes of screen time in a 3 hour movie and yet he is one of the most memorable things in it.
@@raz0rcarich99 Yeah but saying you remember things that happen first more easily in a sequence is completely different than art where what sticks out is what is memorable. Nobody remembers the very beginning of the movie like they do this scene. I don't even remember what the first scene in the movie is.
its the colours and strong toned shirts with matching ties that does it, thats all. Its all about contrasting. Notice how everything is the same sort of colour.

I really thought that the humming was all planned seeing as Leo's character makes everyone do it later on the film. Also he was incredible True Detective which is probably the best thing I have seen on TV
what i like about this show is the relaxed after dinner party feel it has. where the guests are relaxed enough to be themselves and not "performing." The american guests always seem almost awkward at how relaxed and "normal" the vibe is.
Mirror !sigh! well your tone is combative and i don't want to get in to an obligatory internet argument with you. BUT if you watch american chatshows (which i enjoy) they seems relaxed and at home and comfortable...and USUALLY when on this show although the american guests aren't overly awkward they always seem like a guest that you've bought home for the first time. which isn't a bad thing...its nice. they're more charming and during the show they become relaxed and more "real"
Leo and Matthew is easily two of my favorite actors and you can really tell they love what they do and really bring their 110% and they are geniuses when it comes to film, what looks good, what will work and to improvise on the spot. That famous scene in Wolf of Wallstreet is their combines minds working together and it is awesome to watch! :D
This is what happens when you have great actors and a great director. They get the bare bones script. Then they put themselves to work, to try and bring the character out. Leo has the great idea, Matthew executes it to perfection and Martin Scorsese's keen eye knows that this is money. Great writing, great acting, great improv and great directing.
you ever notice that matthew, no matter who he is talking to, how many are there, or who is speaking to him, he is always facing the girl? Look at any of his stuff he always faces the ladies when talking no matter what.
Leo needs to direct more. You hear all these little kinds of details over the years about spontaneous stuff like this or improvising certain stuff that turn out to be key moments in film and its all cause of him..
You can tell a lot of that was adlibed. That's what makes it so good. It's live, it's rough, it's got mistakes (not acting mistakes, just mistakes that occur normally in conversation).
It must take one, no, TWO VIRTUOSI of actors to improv on spot like that.. It's not just your own ability and confidence, but a complete and utter trust in the ability and confidence of actor working opposite you, to respond to your improv with his own improv. WOW.
I remember for my prom, out of nowhere, right before the beat to a song dropped, the dj played Matt's humming over the beat, and before you know it, me, my friends, and everyone who either saw the movie and understood the humming or just wanted to be a part of it, we all just started humming and beating out chests. It was definitely a night to remember
i used to do it when i was a kid and a teenager. HItting my chest or back, tapping my throat or covering and uncovering my mouth. Makes distorted noises. After that scene is kind of awkward.
Less than 8 mins of screen time of a 150+ mins of a movie and the forever memory of him in this movie.. is why he's amazing at what he does.. and deserves his flowers.. Leonardo, denzil and Matthew are the GOATS of this industry.. the numbers don't matter.. the quality does.

I came back to this clip, like wait wasn't this.... glad I'm not crazy. They must have mirrored the footage (like when taking a selfie with your phone)
This is not an original point, but it bears repeating: His character had less than ten minutes of screen time in a 3 hour movie and yet he is one of the most memorable things in it.
There is something called the primacy effect of memory: it's easier to remember what came first in a sequence of events.

Now you mentioned it, yes -.-
yes it does. so much. i am distracted by it
Yep.
Yes
Flipping the screen helps make it harder to get marked for a copyright claim.
So we have to thank Leo for this one? GIVE THE MAN HIS DAMN OSCAR ALREADY!

@Ricardo Hernández Lol and for have it one? He can have two if he keep workin to have it
Fans ready to give him Oscar for everything.
Ricardo Hernández lol i love how out of nowhere your insult is

Leo is a genius for telling him he should add it to the scene tho like wtf i love them both even more lol it’s so original and creative!
Amazing how he's only in one scene in a 3-hour movie, but it's one of the most show-stealing, iconic moments everyone remembers.
