Exercise-induced asthma can be greatly improved by:
1. Remove wheat and dairy from your diet. After years of doing food sensitivity tests, wheat and dairy almost always come back as foods that lead to asthma. If you've already removed these foods, then consider a food sensitivity test to detect other foods that are inflamming your lungs.
2. Eat the antioxidants Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, zinc and selenium. These are the most important antioxidants for asthma. They're found in brightly colored foods like veggies and fruits.
3. Magnesium relaxes the tiny muscles surrounding your bronchioles, or the tubes in your lungs that constrict causing asthma. Everyone with asthma should take magnesium!
4. N-acetyl cysteine is an amino acid complex that creates glutathione, one of your body's (and the lung's) most important amino acids. It's also great for getting rid of lung inflammation from asthma or when you run in the cold weather.
5. Omega-3 fatty acids - the riches source of these come from fish. Omega-3's are powerful anti-inflammatories and there are many studies showing a benefit of reducing asthma symptoms in athletes.
If you have exercise-induced asthma, try all of these things - I bet you'll be impressed with the results of having less asthma symptoms!

Great video, appreciate the info!
Can a youth hockey player of 11-12yrs use these supplements? And if yes what would be the proper dosage of each? We think that most of his issues is from the cold ice air. He went like two months with a sports trainer at an indoor gym without taking his rescue inhaler.
Hi Robert - yes, these supplements are safe for kids but doses need to be adjusted based on size and weight. I recommend working with a healthcare provider that's knowledgeable in functional/naturopathic medicine to get the best care for your son.
