Fun fact: -whenever the 6 cardinals meet in this room, they first clean it together.
-Ainz actually watches Jircniv with magic to learn how to rule, which Jircniv also subconsciously senses and has to examine and protect his space several times. But that doesn't help and drives him further insane

    • @Djorgal
      @Djorgal 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The fact that Ainz was watching Jircniv a lot would also give a good explanation as to how he would know about the meeting with the Slane Theocracy.
I never bought into the idea that Ainz is just a bumbling oaf with no idea what's going on and who's just lucky. That's far too many coincidences. Demiurge and Albedo are far smarter than I am, and they believe Ainz is a master schemer, so I'm inclined to trust their judgement.
Sure, we get to hear his inner monologue, but those are from the perspective of Suzuki Satoru. I get the impression that when he transmigrated, the player was fused with his character. Suzuki is just a part of what Ainz is. It's also made clear that he has become his character, body and mind. Including his emotions, his ability to feel empathy,... and as an arcane spell caster, his intelligence stat should be through the roof.
In the novel. Ainz started to spy on Jircniv after they met in Nazarick. He spent a lot of time watching him and the moment Jircniv scheduled a meeting with the Theocracy, Ainz also suddenly decided to make a trip. He did so in secrecy because "it would be too bothersome to get an official welcome." Come on, that's not really a credible reason...
Jircniv's explanation is far more likely. Ainz threw the bait, observed, waited for Jircniv to bite, then visited the Empire to crush the attempt.
For every time Ainz is "lucky" and everything goes his way Maruyama makes sure there is a reasonable way a master schemer would have had the information required to enact the scheme. There aren't really lucky breaks that happen purely out of the blue.

    - The Sunlight Scripture was the group that Ainz defeated in season 1 episode 3-4. They were sent by the Slane Theocracy to ambush Gazef and weaken the Kingdom so that the Empire could take over.
    - The Black Scripture is one of the Theocracy's 6 special ops team, this one being the strongest by far. They're the group that attacked Shalltear in season 1, trying to use mind control on her. However she then killed the "seat" (the member Kaire) who could use the World Item (called Downfall of Castle and Country) before it fully took effect
    - The 2 strongest members of the Black Scriptiure are the two God-kins that you saw in season 2 episode 1, the strongest of the two was playing with a Rubix cube. She had not taken part in the attack on Shalltear's but the other one did
    - God-kin refers to a descendant of a player. The 6 great gods who founded the Slane Theocracy were players that came to the world 600 years ago, assumed to be the first batch to make it the new world. Some of them had children with denizens of the new world and their kids are called God-kin. Even if human, once "awakened" the God-kins can surpass the level 40 cap that normal humans can't. Both God-kins of the Black Scripture have awakened and they are estimated to be between level 60 and 80.
    - Approximately every 200 years a group of players arrives in the New World from Yggdrasil. The Six Great Gods arrived about 600 years ago, the 8 Greed Kings arrived approximately 400 years ago, and the players who were part of the Thirteen Heroes group arrived about 200 years ago. The Slane Theocracy is aware of the phenomenon, but to them it corresponds to the advent of new gods in the world. Not much information is given yet as to why it happens but Platinum Dragon Lord (the big dragon you saw in season 2 episode 1) shoulders the blame. At this point it is believed that while alive his father, the Emperor Dragon Lord, used a strong Wild Magic spell that caused players to arrive in the New World.

8:40 the anime doesnt mention that ains is constantly watching el nix to learn how to be a king using the mirror of viewing that we saw in season 1 ep 3, and people who are watched by the mirror get a sense of being watched and become paranoid which is why the emperor is so crazy plus the stress of people seeing him as evil doesnt help

  • @Joe-it2dh
    @Joe-it2dh ปีที่แล้ว +10

    lore tidbits:
Regarding "God-Kin", they are the offspring of the "6 Great Gods" who were in fact players who had previously come to this New World, they started a world war and also founded the Slane Theocracy. These two God-kin shown here have been shown before but only in the first episode of Season 2 and only briefly. The male is the Captain of the Black Scripture (the same group that used the world item to brainwash Shalltear) and the female is Zesshi Zestumi (who has a very troubled.... everything). In the most recent chapter of the LN (Volume 16) Zesshi is currently going through some issues, but as far as the anime is concerned they are never mentioned more than what's shown in this episode. They are the Slane Theocracy's secret trump cards so they don't pull them out unless the enemy is thought to be impossible to kill.
Funny side note: The leader of Silver Thread Bird typically sings when talking normally but his companions find it annoying, but in combat it's incredibly helpful as it gives them buffs and other support.
The Sunlight Scripture was the group of soldiers that attacked Gazef in the beginning of Season 1 (dressed as soldiers from Baharuth Empire), led by Nigun they were sent to assassinate Gazef but then "disappeared" since Ainz made sure to capture every single member leaving none alive to tell the Slane Theocracy their fate while Thousand League Astrologer was blocked by Ainz's magic gear. Nigun was sent to Neuronist Painkill where he was tortured and interrogated until his body and mind were about to completely break, even after all the healing and resurrecting, he was then turned into a Lich and (I believe) he was the lich that died during the first battle against the Lizard Man villages.
Ainz is constantly watching Jircniv through things like the "Mirror of Remote Viewing" (shown many times before) because he views Jircniv as the "ideal ruler" in how he acts and presents himself so he's watching him and trying to learn "how to be a proper ruler" and Ainz grows fond of Jircniv over the countless hours of watching him. Jircniv can feel that someone is always watching him but noone else feels it nor can they detect it which compounds his skyrocketing stress, which is ultimately the cause of his hair loss.

6:20 this is a very important piece of information cos it seems every 200 years a player or players from the game appear in the world like the "gods"' that appeared 600 years ago that made the slane theocracy and it doesnt seem to be linearly based meaning that not every player was sent to the new world at the same time so in theory there still more coming

The 6 cardinals there are the rulers of the Slane Theocracy. They each follow one of the 6 gods, who were players from Yggdrasil, who showed up 600 years ago in New World time. Each cardinal has a squad of soldiers called a Scripture. Those guys that Ainz killed in season 1 when he first got there were from the Sunlit Scripture. The Black Scripture they talked about is another group they have. You'll meet them later in the season.

Hello friend, thanks for continuing to react. As always, I would like to comment on some scenes with information from the Light Novel.
The first thing we notice is a time jump. The events that will unfold now will happen almost at the same time that Albedo is in the capital of the Kingdom. The scene of albedo and Ainz's kiss was so cute that one might forget that she is an incredibly ruthless demon.
The first thing we see is the leaders of the Slane Theocracy, each one corresponding to the 6 great gods who, as you know, were Ygdrassil players. The last of them, Surshana, was killed by the 8 Kings of Greed, the second group of players to arrive in the new world. Precisely because of this, the cardinals deduce that Ainz is a Player, especially for the description of the spell of Super Tier Magic, Shub-Niggurath. They are also aware that every two hundred years or so players are summoned to the new world.
Now, there are a lot of translation errors in this season. The first is that the Theocracy's trump cards are individuals who have blood from the ancient players and are considered "demigods." That would be a more correct term in the West. They exceed level 30 and are able to face the Death Knights without problems, the problem is that there are other undead in Ainz's army that even the demigods cannot defeat, because they are stronger than the Pleiades Battle Maids.
Many things are revealed to us that I already mentioned to you before. The Slane Theocracy invested many resources in the Kingdom because they wanted it to be the great defender of humanity, but it rotted inside due to complacency, corruption and drugs, which they even began to export to other human nations, weakening them. That's why the Theocracy was planning for the Empire, the new nation they invested in, to devour the Kingdom and the first step for that was to kill Gazef Stronnfor, but Ainz's arrival has twisted all his plans. In reality the Theocracy acts in a radical way, but its intentions are truly noble.
A hilarious detail is how the ridiculous name that Ainz invented for Shalltier, that of Honyopenyoko has reached the theocracy and how they even pronounce it correctly, which speaks well of his spies. They have also correctly deduced that Ainz, Momon, Jaldabaoth, and Shalltear could be working together in the worst-case scenario.
However, the Theocracy at that time has many problems and cannot act. Ainz killed one of the "Scriptures" that are his elite squads in chapter 4 of the first season, Clementine stole the Crown of Wisdom and they are looking for it (to no avail), also at that moment they are in a war against the elves they can't get out of, because the Elf King kidnapped and raped the greatest of their "demigods" and they need to take revenge for her.
By the way, Zesshi Zetsumei, the woman you wear in white with the Rubick's cube at the beginning of the second season, is that woman's daughter. That's why she has pointy ears. That is made clear in the novel when one of the cardinals says that: "We have to give that girl the opportunity to avenge her mother."
Anyway, for all these reasons they have preferred to talk first with the empire to obtain information, but above all to find out if she really is a servant of Ainz.
Then we see the poor emperor who is on the edge of his nerves and losing hair from stress. In the novel they even tell us that from time to time they have to take a potion for a stomach ache, maybe they have ulcers.
Jirvivch has a lot of problems. Internationally everyone believes that he is a monster and blames him for the spell that Ainz used against the Kingdom. His elite warriors, who are the foundation of all his power, are traumatized by what they saw and are so terrified of the prospect of having to be near Ainz again that they are giving up en masse. On top of his trump card, the Wizard Fludder, has betrayed him. The only good news is that the civilian people still don't know much about these matters, so the emperor is still popular with them, but it won't last long.
In desperation, Jirvich wants to talk to the Theocracy and tell them that he is not on Nazarick's side but wants to join the fight for humanity, but he is so paranoid that Ainz is spying on him 24 hours a day, that he has devised a whole series of secret codes and procedures to hide the meeting from him. That's why when his secretary talks about "merchants" she actually refers to the Temples of the Empire, which are his link with the Theocracy. After several months of painstaking effort, he finally gets the meeting and for safety's sake arranges for it to be at the Colosseum, a last-minute decision, where no one would expect a secret meeting, because not even the emperor himself knew it until that very moment. He also hires the Empire's Adamantite Adventurers team to make sure no one spies on them.
But as you already saw, just at the moment when Jirvich was about to tell the version of him to the Theocracy, Ainz appears just at the perfect moment to do more damage and completely ruin the last hope that the emperor had to resist. It was a brilliant move that destroyed months of painstaking work and conspiracies.
The Slane Theocracy definitively abandons him and the only thing the emperor can do is speak with absolute sincerity with the religious leaders of the empire to try to convince them that he is not a traitor and not to declare a holy war against Ains, because then there would be no salvation. His words manage to move the priests, who at least do not definitively break relations. But that's all. The blow that Ainz gave him has destroyed all of Jirvich's past and future plans in just an instant. ¡Truly a mastermind of conspiracies!
With all his plans destroyed, the Emperor is only left with the hope that the Martial Lord can miraculously kill Ainz and that is why he screams so desperately at the end.
Well, that's all we saw in this episode. I hope you found the information interesting.
    ¡See ya!

I still wonder, how many players were drawn from the Yggdrasil game into this new world. At this point, we only know of 14 (15 with Ainz) who appeared in this area of the world. And they all are drawn from the game at complete different times.

To sum it all up, Ainz looks up to Jircniv as an example of a strong leader and uses the looking glass from season 1 to spy on him in order to learn from him. The downside is that the object of the looking glass/mirror is that they have the accurate sense of being watched so prolonged use leaves the target paranoid. The sunlight scripture was the bunch of theocracy troops ainz killed early on when they invaded the village and used angels to try to kill gazef and ains. Clementine and the necromancer were part of the dark scripture (I think?, but they were not the whole of it), as was the the girl with the rubrick's cube we saw briefly at one point. the dark scripture included two strong characters who faced shalltear early on. The one who mind controlled shalltear died in her counter attack and the character who took the hit before her is a powerful character who nearly died and still failed to protected the woman who was wearing the world item dress. The rubrik's cube girl is able to view things far away and is part of the dark scripture. I'm not sure if she watched ainz's fight with the sunlight scripture, when the sky kinda breaks and ainz says someone was watching them, but it was probably her. She missed shalltear fighting with ainz, and when she saw ainz use his super tier spell kill all of those soldiers on the katze plains, she reacted like the poorly fated worker's team magic caster who had the skill to sense magic ability/aura, and afterwards shut herself away in hopelessness and depression. Also, the old woman talking to a dragon seen at the beginning of s2 is the person both brain and evil eye lost to in the past. The dragon she is talking to gets more explanantion later on, so that part is a watch and find out from me.
This series is hard not to binge and I enjoy your thoughts and reactions overall. Keep on watching, brother.

Just saying, I love Overlord, but the main reason there is so many side stories, and why the characters are given so much attention at times is a bit sad. The main reason (in so far as I can tell) is that after season 1, Ainz and co kinda got a grasp on their situation, there is very little to fear; We don't worry about Ainz and co, because we know they are truly powerful. So in order to not get stale or boring of them constantly overpowering everything like we know they will, we instead focus on the PoV of the side stories to create the drama and tension. We *KNOW* Ainz and co will be okay...but we can't say the same for any side characters we meet, and we aren't sure death is absolute either. Sometimes its a fate worse than death. Sometimes they get lucky breaks, like Enri and the village. It keeps the viewers on their toes

Eventhough probably there's some people Will tell you this. Just in case you still doesn't know. And of course free spoiler since it's been tell before or probably not explain well and Will not be tell or said in the future.
The sunlight scripture happen on eps 3-4, season 1. Is the part where Ainz saving the village and kill all of the magic Caster from the Slane Theocracy which is this magic Caster group called Sunlight Scripture. The another Black Scripture group is the one who brainwash Shalltear, which is Shalltear killed one of them and also heavily injured another one.
So in this talking phase room the people who pray to God. Is Slane Theocracy. This country high value human than other race. Why?. The God their mention is a Player. Yup. This player thingy Will not be explain in the anime even in the future so don't worry. Me as LN reader quite also dissapointed what madhouse did for deleting the info for player even it has it just one liner and isn't emphasize, since it Will make anime watcher only confuse.
Why they value human just simple as this player is a good guy, opposite from Ainz. They're love humans and in the beginning they just like another mainstream Hero main character in the nutshell.
As for the godkin you Saw it quite familiar. Cause you already saw them on
Season 2 eps 1. If you still not remember. They talking about Shalltear and the girl playing rubik cube.

Hard not to feel bad for the leaders of the Theocracy, all they do is look out for the good of humanity the best they can, and out of nowhere Ainz and his people showed up and basically have humanity in their hands now, even without having all the info is quite justified their nervousness.🥺
The Black Scripture are the ones who brainwashed Shalltear, it was a fortuitous event but if Ainz found out it's game over for them, Clementine was also a former member of that group.

Well, let's be real here, the Theocracy aren't a bunch a bunnies of light and happiness either here whose goals are pure and noble. They step on anyone who gets in the way of their goals just like the rest of the rulers here.

@@Slayer398 Exactly what any decent leader should do (if the objective is the good of his people of course), only that the Theocracy does not think just on his nation but in humankind in general, so all their actions are quite justified, especially In a world where humans are pretty low on the food chain.

@@Slayer398 There are really no "good or bad" guys in this series, whoever has power has justice on their side and whoever doesn't is bad and deserves what happens to them.

those god kin showsn back in season 1 for the guy and start of season 2 for the girl at the start. God-kin are poeple how have blood of 'Gods" in other words past players. it seem in there histroy 200 and 600 years ago(i think it was every 200, could be wrong have to recheck) players pop into the New World due to a great magic casted there. Azin likely the last of these since the game is servers are now done.
also the Scriptuers are sections of their forces. Azin fough the Bunlight Scriptures back in season on at the village. The Black Scriptures is their most Elite Team of Hero class, which Ran into Shalltear. one died using the mind control World Class item on her.

You are not wrong, first appearance was 600 years ago before Theocracy existed second was 400 years ago and Ainz gang is 3rd appearance which took 200 years for them to appear in the New World.

I wish more would react to the eng dub version. This is one of the animes where imo the dub is better than the sub. I just think the acting was better in the in the dub.

if you pay really close attention to sensensenri's clothing when she hides herself in bed, she is in japanese high school uniform. Kind of hinting that the country is related to players "the 6 gods" 600 years ago. Then you have the rubik's cube back in season 2 played by zeshi. Not many people catch these hints tho.
