I remember having a splinter like that, many years ago. I can picture it like I'm back in that minor injuries unit now. The discomfort was concerning, but the guy removing it understood. Hope you're all having a good time!
Friends of ours packed car, caravan and kids to go on holiday, set off, stopped at a service station, youngest fell over and managed to break her arm, they spent the rest of the day at the nearest hospital and ended up having to stop nearby as they kept her in. Holiday eventually started the next day! Of course she couldn't go in the water so was fedup.
Went there about 8 years ago, been to them both, Minehead was better than Skeggy, we got a log cabin was so worth paying the extra. The entertainment was boss, you guys will love it there.
Oh and don't forget to venture outside the camp, there's a nice beach and arcades n stuff for the kids. PS there was a Kwicksave just outside the camp for cheaper supplies.
When I was around 8 I also got a splinter at butlins! It went the full lenght of my palm just under the skin and I would not let anybody touch it. Mum and Grandma pulled me out of bed in the early hours, pinned me down and pulled it out!.
Being that I know you as a northern TH-camr it’s strange seeing you so far south as I live literally like twenty minutes from Minehead (Also Minehead is in Somerset 😉). Enjoy your holiday, you all deserve it, if you go to the beach though don’t get stuck in the mud like I did once 😂
So its basically like skeg vegas but the staff go around singing "I've got a brand new combine harvester" and saying "oooh arrr!" a lot I'm not stereotyping......honest😂
It never goes as planned does it! There's always some minor thing like a huge splinter to spoil the party. OUCH! ☹️ Accidental WW2 Japanese torture, bamboo under the fingernails. Imagine how it was for sailors of wooden battle ships after being cannonballed. More splinters than one cares to talk about. Well they feed the galleys range fire for sometime. An advantage cruising the fair grounds when closed, you get to map out and memorise where things are without hords of people getting in the way. I hope Day 2 is a better and more positive one. The price for dinner would be enough to give me reflux. Cheers all 👍😀
